Having lost control of her ability, Elle seeks help in London. |
Elle Bishop was fired from The Company after her father's untimely death at the hands of Sylar... |
Summary
After being fired from the Company, Elle travels to London for a "study abroad." She is aware of a watcher while touring the Tower Bridge of London. A van explodes and Elle flees after drawing unwanted attention. She soon loses control of her powers, shocking herself while showering and falls naked to the floor in frustration. Unable to contact HRG for help, she looks for someone else. Daphne, after helping Elle with an incident on the bridge, gives her a calling card for Pinehearst hoping that she will join them for help. However, Elle chooses not to, thinking that the last thing her life needs is another company.
Elle follows Lee and Abigail until she manages to track Claude down at a sports arena and follows him onto the London Eye. Claude, not knowing that Elle is no longer with the Company, turns invisible and flees from her. Using the rain, Elle is able to track him. When she sends out electrical bolts, the rain makes her shock them both into unconsciousness.

Notes
- The phrase sum quod sum means "I am what I am" in Latin.
- Several famous sites are included in Sum Quod Sum. Elle begins her story by the Tower Bridge in London. She finds Claude at the top of the London Eye inside one of the Eye Capsules. She chases him across Westminster Bridge Road, up Parliament Street and Whitehall to Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square. Ollie Grigsby mapped out the entire route.
Trivia
- "EDwvar70p" is written on one of the buildings Elle runs by in London. EDwvar70p is the password for Eric Doyle's Assignment Tracker 2.0 profile.
- The couple siting with an "empty" chair between them at the stadium and on the bus are Oliver Grigsby and his fiancée Abby. Jason Badower drew them in as an engagement present.
- Two women sit on the bus next to Elle. These are caricatures of Natalie Wells and Noo Seen, two of Jason Badower's friends and fans, Jason drew them in as birthday presents. Previously, Jason named the Nat & Noo Hotel after them. Later, in Rebellion, Part 4, Jason included Natalie Wells on a prisoner manifest list.
- Heroes Wiki user Skywalkerrbf also appears sitting on the same bus. His rationale of why he's in England is that he's a teleporter who accidentally teleported there and now can't get back.
- Jason Badower included Heroes Wiki administrator RyanGibsonStewart's initials on a towel in Elle's bathroom as means of thanking Ryan for providing some references to be used in Sum Quod Sum, Part 2.
- Lee and Abigail's likenesses (and Abigail's name) were borrowed from Oliver Grigsby and his real-life fiancée, respectively.
