Nathan replies that it sounds a lot like [[#.07%|Linderman's plans]], and Bob confirms that he was Adam Monroe's "disciple."

After having become a Corporal in the U.S. Army, Linderman returns from the [[Vietnam War]]. He hitchhikes from place to place, having no real place to call home. Eventually, he meets [[Linda Tavara]], who invites him to stay at her [[Black Hawk Campgrounds|campsite]]. After the two spend the night together there, Linderman and Linda see an injured [[deer]] laying nearby. Linderman [[Healing|heals]] the deer in front of Linda and turns to tell her about his [[ability]], but Linda tells him she already knows as she lunges toward him. She places her hand on his face in an attempt to [[Aura absorption|absorb]] his ability, but he [[One punch knockout|hits]] her in the face with a stick and knocks her out. After finding his name and [[ability]] in her [[Linda's notebook|notebook]], he burns her body and gets another ride as far away as he can. While riding, he notices another name and location in Linda's notebook--[[Arthur Petrelli]] in [[New York City]].

Mr. Linderman hires [[Brian Dante|Brian]] and assigns him to design the [[Corinthian Casino|Corinthian Hotel]]'s [[corinthianlasvegas.com|website]]. Later, Linderman enlists him to rig [[Nathan's campaign|an election]] in favor of candidate [[Nathan Petrelli]] using a "logic bomb". When it fails and Brian flees, Linderman is furious but is able to secure Nathan's victory using [[Micah Sanders|other means]]. After the election, Brian learns of the results and of Linderman's death.
