But also because one of the main themes of the episode is that people have two sides to them. Sylar plays with Claire's mind and tries to get her to realize that she is not the wholesome sweet cheerleader she wants to be, but that she's a vengeful and hateful person who would like nothing more than to kill Sylar. The other storyline that reflects the duality of man is over at Pinehearst. The writers play with which "side" Knox, Nathan, Mohinder, and Flint are on, ultimately showing that allegiances are fleeting that that man has more than one side to him.
