Though perhaps technically correct (in some cases of the word), "download" usually has a technological connotation: We download files from the internet, from our email, from a computer to a disk, etc. Matt's brain may act as a computer, but it's still a human brain, not an actual computer. Elle uses the goggles to display the information so that Matt can visually record things in his brain.
