==Silent Auction==

Every piece of art exhibited at the showcase was available for purchase through the silent auction. There were over 80 pieces of art on display from 24 artists. The art was created in a range of media, including photography, painting, drawing, and animation, among others. Beside each piece of art was a clipboard where participants could place their name and bid. The auction was held until 9:00 p.m. and at 9:15 p.m. the winners were announced. The art pieces were then packaged and either taken home that night, or delivered the following week. Because all purchases were considered donations, they were also considered tax deductible.

==Autism Speaks==
Autism Speaks was founded in February 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright, grandparents of a child with autism. (Bob Wright also served as the chief executive officer of [[NBC]] and NBC Universal for more than twenty years.) Autism Speaks has grown into the largest autism science and advocacy organization in the United States. The organization funds research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and a cure for autism. Autism Speaks also works to increase awareness of disorders on the autism spectrum. They are also an advocate for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
