posted interview, needs work and stuff but i aint got the time i'm afraid

New page

On the 18th of September Heroes Wiki conducted a interview with Ossie Mair who played a vendor in the episode Homecoming. This interview was done by skywalkerrbf.
Did you watch Heroes before you took the part? Do you still watch it now?

I started watching Heroes before I got the part b/c I saw a huge billboard at NBC advertising it, and I recognized Senhil, who I'd worked with about a year prior to that.

If so do you have a favourite character or episode?

At the beginning I was really drawn to the cheerleader's dad b/c he was obviously hiding something. But I must admit I haven't been watching recently.

Do you have any stories from the set?

This was one of the best on-set experiences I've had. The director, Greg Beeman was very easy to work with, and he had a great sense of humor.

Did you enjoy working on Heroes?

Yes. It was a very relaxed set, and everyone was very nice. It was also nice to work with someone I'd worked with before.

Was it different from any other jobs you have had?

The main difference was that the director made it a very comfortable set. He was more people oriented than other directors I've worked with.

If you could have any power, then what would it be?

I'd love to be invisible, but without having to be naked. It could get a bit chilly.

What was it like to work with Sendhil Ramamurthy? In the past you have played his farther so was it nice to catch up?

It was nice to work with Sendhil again. I played his father in a movie called Blind Dating about three years ago. He's a very accomplished actor, and he's doing a great job on Heroes.

On your website you say your other talents include photography, psychotherapy , massage therapy, drum circle facilitation and racquet stringing, how did you become interested in these?

My dad was a photographer, so I spent a lot of time in the studio, in the darkroom and at more weddings than I care to remember. I studied massage therapy and worked as a massage therapist for a few years. This led me into the psychotherapy field. Very often my massage clients would talk through the massage and unload all their problems. I realized that I was a good listener, and upon several suggestions from friends, I went back to school and got my masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. I'm currently one exam away from being a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Also tied in with the therapy field, I had for a long time toyed with the idea of incorporating drumming into my therapy, especially with children. I began going to a community drum circle run by the REMO drum company in NoHo. After a while, as well as enjoying drumming, I realized that I was drawn to the faciliation side of it. So took some workshops and became a facilitator.

I play squash and grew tired of paying $30 to get my racquets strung. So I bought a stringing machine, and began stringing my own racquets. Friends found out and begain asking me to string their racquets. So was born yet another vocation.
Can you tell us a bit about any work you have coming up?

I'll be on the 2nd season opener of Californication on September 28, 2008.
