			18 years ago, in a [[train yard]] in [[Odessa, Ukraine]], Maarten, his partner [[Ivan]] and their new trainee [[Noah]], arrive to search for their target. Spotting [[Liquid Man\|him]], Maarten [[Pyrokinesis\|generates some fire]] and stands with Ivan, who tells the man not to run. To try and escape, the Liquid Man [[Water mimicry\|becomes a wave of water]] that knocks Ivan away and puts out Maarten's fire.
	In a [[train yard]], Maarten works with [[Noah]] and [[Ivan]] to capture the [[liquid man]] in [[Odessa, Ukraine]].

			Noah, amused at how his superiors have failed, makes some suggestions. Following Noah's plan, Maarten releases a burst of fire that forces the Liquid Man to run to a train. Ivan and Noah hold their guns at him while Maarten shoots concentrated streams of fire to block their target's escape. Scared, the Liquid Man runs into the train and Noah traps him. Maarten and Ivan thank Noah for teaching them some new tricks.
