			In high school, Rand worked at Photo Heck, a one-hour-photo/digital imaging lab in Solvang, California. There, he was a retouch artist for still photographs using Photoshop 3.0. Rand would take old photographs that had been torn or bleached out by the elements of nature, or photographs of people that the owners no longer wanted in the photograph (such as ex-spouses), and would retouch the photographs. Rand spent hours stitching up the photos and color balancing them so they would appear as the clients requested. Among his customers were John and Bo Derek, whom Rand even tutored in how to use Photoshop.
