			**As I see this, there are multiple compasses, and they all point to the carnival when held by those with abilities. Samuel wants them all so that he can control who knows where the carnival is, so that someone opposed to them cannot track them down (like the Company). He gave one to Tracy so that she could join them, for example. The appeal of such a device to Danko is obvious- even if he could not use it himself, Building 26 had numerous evolved human prisoners that he could use to point him in the correct direction. Even after Building 26 fell, Danko was still hunting evolved humans (Joseph, Tracy) before his death, so he may have locked it away and swallowed the key until he figured out ''how'' to use it himself, and then use it to go after the carnival. Samuel, knowing Danko had killed Joseph and was hostile to them, ordered Edgar to go after Danko's compass to prevent that from happening, leading to his death and Noah discovering the key.
