Nobody is saying that the character of Draph is bad, it's just that some of what was shown about him (phoenix mimcry being a bunch powers, his base power being a form of omniscience, ect) was slightly weak in terms of storytelling. I think the chacter's backstory is very well put together, and I am impressed that the small changes you made to him have made it a much more appricable character in terms of the heroes universe. But I think there are a few things you must first realize. 1) People are not bashing your online game profile, just the part of him shown in the istory, without the rest of the character's biography to flesh out his background makes him look mary-sue, when if you look at the character as a whole he is really not. Nobody is saying the character itself is bad, just the few snippits of him that we've seen on the istory doesnt give him enought coverage to show more character detail, you know? 2)Changing PM to pyrokinesis was probably the best thing you've done for your character, and it's true that mimics are almost inherently mary sue, you've managed to put limits on his powers in the form of self-imposed limitations on himself. In the end, I think your character is good, and that a few things should be cleared up about him because of what we've seen. I dont care to trudge through the giant clusterfuck of Talk:Phoenix mimicry, but I am still not sure why it's there if you decided to change it to pyrokinesis. Since the character is yours, the power is therefore yours as well, and you should be able to edit it as you please. If someone tells you you can't change it because it's already "locked in" to the istory canoon, tell them to go to hell and change it anyways. It takes a lot to change something you spent a great deal of time working on, and I think that's admirable of you for doing so in order to keep the Heroes Canon to a higher bar (even if stupid shit like spider mimicry has already weakend it somewhat). Also, I had another quick question. As Draph is a professor, exactly how old is he? It's hard to tell in the image, but he appears a bit young. --Piemanmoo 19:58, 26 November 2009 (EST)

Even if Draph is Mary Sue, I don't care at this point. Peter, Sylar (Considering Sylar CANNOT DIE), and others are very Mary Sue along your guy's critiques, and they are my favorite characters in the show. So good for me! The one thing that has yet to be resolved however is the inherieting the power from his twin. If you look up Vanishing Twin or chimera, it is perfecting acceptable for a twin to be absorbed by the mother or other twin. In this case, Draph absorbed his twin and his ability. Pardon me for making it more mysterious and less graphic than I could have. "A vanishing twin is a fetus in a multi-gestation pregnancy which dies in utero and is then partially or completely reabsorbed by the mother or twin." Perfectly scientifically justified on my part. It just happened that an Ability came into play with Draph. And, Draph felt guilty for the simple reason that his power was not truely his. Draph's power was Claircognizance, so he used that. But since AR was acquired unjustly in his mind, he didn't want to be a part of it. A simple reason to feel guilty. And the events of Maria's death are unknown, so we don't know exactly what happened, but it is implied that if Draph used his other abilities, then things might have been different. If that is something you guys cannot understand, then your simple-mindedness is something I pity. Draphoenix 14:51, 26 November 2009 (EST)

So what if my character is 'mary sue,' I didn't even know that existed until recently. You are all upset about something that One) isn't canon, 2) isn't even semi-canon 3) but is something that is part of a profile on a game. Moreover, I never claimed to be some fantasic fan-fiction writer. Frankly, it is quite a pathetic endeavor if you guys are taking it this seriously. In the end, the only thing you guys have ground to be critical of is what is semi-canon. There is a student of philosophy named Draph. He is a mimic. He can produce blue flames, has telepathy, and telekinesis. And because he was a cross-over character, he will never be seen again. Unless you guys have a problem with this, then keep your insignificant compliants to yourself. PS, keep in mind that I wanted to switch Draph's ability to Pyrokinesis! I switched it! It is no longer in my power so stop blaming me for something that I have no control over. Draphoenix 13:10, 26 November 2009 (EST)

I dont care to trudge through the giant clusterfuck of Talk:Phoenix <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Mimicry</del>, but I am still not sure why it's there if you decided to change it to pyrokinesis.

But the reason phoenix mimicry is there is because of the whole mythology of the phoenix, overcoming and what not. <br> Here is the problem people have had with Draph, he is a complex character that burst onto the scene with almost no one reading his profile before bashing him. To understand why he is the way he is needs to be carefully fleshed out. His orginal ability is Claircognizance. Its like spidy sense and a google search into one. The reason Draph had this ability orginally was because he is a professor and needs to be knowledgable, thus matching up to his character. But, he also was granted a form of ability mimicry. This was not done to make him powerful, but to give him a challenge to overcome. Draph feels guilty about his power. And that is the driving force behind his character, his struggle with his ability. The show has had many mimics, Arther Petrelli, Peter, that aura girl, Sylar, having another mimic is not a crazy thing to have. He felt so guilty about his extra-power, that he made a promise to never use his mimiced powers. However, he broke that promise to use telekinesis, from his grandmother, as a way to remember this special person in his life. Throughout most of his backstory, he only used telekinesis and claircognizance. But because of his promise, he was unable to save the person he loved, Maria. At this point, Draph may be powerful, but all the power in the world was not able to save this person. His 'mary sue' power was not to make him powerful and awesome, it was to show that powers are not what matters in life. To show that there is no point in having all the powers in the world if you do not have a person to share it with. Each of the abilities his has shown in istory can be traced back to something influential in his life as well. Phoenix Mimicry came from the person who trained him and allowed him to get over his guilt and the loss of Maria. Telepathy came from Sophia, Maria's little sister. And Telekinesis came from his grandmother. What people got was this powerful character all at once, but his evolution would have taken longer than most charactor's in the shows. He got his powers, felt guilty and formed a promise with himself to not use his powers, broke his promise to honor his grandmother, lose maria, suffer, then finally overcome her loss. <br> in the end, I just want people to view Draph as what is semi-canon. He is a student of philosophy who is a mimic possessing the ability to make blue flames, telepathy, and telekinesis. <br>Draphoenix 00:26, 26 November 2009 (EST)

I believe the problem is that he appears broken, and in such a way that it effectively negates a critical aspect of the show's canon (that ability replication is limited to a single replicated power, no more). In addition to this, one power in particular (phoenix mimicry) is actually several powers lumped into one. Now my question is, why would he feel guilty about his power, to the point where he would refuse to use the power? And in addition, if he happened to have several powers, why would he (or anyone for that matter) not do anything in their power to save the person they love? Who is this other crazy-powerful person with phoenix mimicry that trained him, and why did he get trained? Guilt is something that a person gets over on their own, it doesn't get "trained out" of you. It's not that Draph is complex. I mean, hell, some of the characters in the show are impossibly complex. It's that the pieces don't fit. And the powers are too huge. And too many. And honestly, too bizarre. Getting a power from an unborn twin is about as bizarre as it gets. And the "Guy becomes strong, guy loses someone close, guy overcomes personal problem, guy gets stronger" is a very common, cliché character development. The way Draph reads is very much as a Mary-Sue. --Ricard Desi (t,c) 00:51, 26 November 2009 (EST)
