	The time has come to shut down Heroes Wiki. It's been a fantastic run, but with no new episodes airing the site traffic has been below the threshold where ads can sustain it for quite some time now. 	Heroes premiered in the US on September 26, 2006. Exactly 2 weeks later I started Heroes Wiki. Being a completely new site I decided the best way for Heroes Wiki to thrive would be to aggressively advertise on Google and draw people in. At the time it was bare and a lot of the material was sourced from Wikipedia in order to bootstrap it and provide a structure people could start editing. It quickly began growing from there and attracting new early contributors such as Hardvice and Ryangibsonstewart who were instrumental especially in the early days of the site. With the quickly growing contributor base we very soon flagged and rewrote all the original sourced material with, in my opinion, much better material. For quite some time at the beginning after each episode aired I would rewind the Tivo and start writing out the episode synopsis. 	Due to their huge contributions both to content as well as structure and guidelines Hardvice was made a Heroes Wiki administrator in November 2006 followed soon by Ryangibsonstewart in December 2006. Over time new administrators would be added who would help maintain the site and ensure quality as it grew even larger. 	As the costs of running the site grew, also in December I started looking at adding advertising to the sites. I consulted the community to make sure it wouldn't be intrusive as well as to decide what to do with any leftover profit. I never intended to run this site to make money, so we ended up with a solution that I truly loved: We would donate the leftover profit each month. The advertising was very successful and for the next 2 years we made almost monthly donations to charities such as Pediatric Epilepsy Foundation, National Walk for Epilepsy, Give-Life Foundation, The Brain Aneurysm Foundation, and One Laptop Per Child. In those two years we donated just under $4,000 across the charities.		As the costs of running the site grew, also in December I started looking at adding advertising to the sites. I consulted the community to make sure it wouldn't be intrusive as well as to decide what to do with any leftover profit. I never intended to run this site to make money, so we ended up with a solution that I truly loved: We would donate the leftover profit each month. 	As Heroes Wiki grew there were several milestones. Over time the community translated the material into languages such as French, German, Italian, and Hebrew. As traffic increased the site grew from a single shared server, to a dedicated server, to a Cloud VM with offloaded database and ~~memcache~~. As it grew we even forged a relationship directly with NBC and those responsible for its digital content.		As Heroes Wiki grew there were several milestones. Over time the community translated the material into languages such as French, German, Italian, and Hebrew. As traffic increased the site grew from a single shared server, to a dedicated server, to a Cloud VM with offloaded database and cache. As it grew we even forged a relationship directly with NBC and those responsible for its digital content.


	I want to thank the Heroes Wiki community for everything they've done. From interviews conducted with cast and crew to detailed character and episode information to fan theories.
