The first shot his taser at Krystal, but she phased it right through her and then through Sophia. She thrust her hand forward and put it into the man’s chest to mess with his breathing and knocking him out. Right before the man fell to the ground the second confused man was hit by an orange and blue blur. They both ran outside to see the man slumped up against the bottom of Sophia’s tree and Dimitri standing next to him. “Ready to go, girls?”		Krystal turned Sophia around to get her to leave, but as soon as they reached the doorway two more men appeared. ''Dang, do I miss these days…'' [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/Sophia Oakley|Sophia]] clicked for the next Facebook picture to see the faces of [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/Krystal Towers|Krystal]], [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/April Kingston|April]], [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/Stephanie Kirkwood|Stephanie]], and herself smiling back at her from the snowy ice-skating rink half a mile from her house. The next picture was of the boys: [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/Nathaniel Schaffer|Nathaniel]] had his arm around [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/Scott Sutherland|Scott]]’s neck and [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/Max Montgomery|Max]] was standing next to them with his forearm on [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/Dimitri McAllister|Dimitri]]’s shoulder. There was a picture of Scott after he fell on his back and one of April mid-spin. There were other photos of the friends generally goofing around, and then there were pictures of them in Nathaniel’s basement after skating: April and Krystal laughing at one of Dimitri’s jokes, Matt and Stephanie discussing their new favorite band, Nathaniel telling [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/Matt Schaffer|Matt]] and [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/Daniella Schaffer|Daniella]] to leave them alone for the third time, and Sophia laying her head on Scott’s shoulder.

''Why did it all have to go so wrong?'' She went to another album, this one of the past fall. There were pictures of Dimitri, Stephanie, Scott, and Krystal at an indoor pool; of Sophia, Stephanie, and April listening to Sophia’s iPod in April’s Jeep; of the boys in Max’s kitchen and of the girls in Krystal’s bedroom. There were pictures of all of them bowling, and a few from the time Sophia had helped [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/Kaitlin Schaffer|Kaitlin]] with her hair for some party. The album also had photos of [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/Alex Sutherland|Alex]] kicking Nathaniel’s butt at Halo 2 and (Sophia’s favorite) of the eight of the eight friends posing for photos in April’s living room before homecoming. ''Man, I can’t believe it will never be like this again. We had so much fun before, why can’t we just start all over?''

Sophia looked around her bedroom, spotting other items that brought back memories: a handmedown hoodie that Krystal had given her, Dimitri’s movie that she had never returned, the drumset from the Rock Band game she always used to play with Stephanie, Max, and Nathaniel, shoes picked out by April, and a teddy bear on her bed that Scott had given her. ''Maybe most of these relationships can only remain as memories…''

Sophia turned back to her computer to find more pictures when she heard a load thump behind her. She whipped her chair around to see Krystal standing up in the center of her room. “Ha! I judged that perfectly!”

“Krystal? What are you doing here? And did you just fall from my roof?”

“Oh, yeah. Sorry.”

Sophia sighed and sat on her bed. “Next time a knock on my door would be appreciated.”

The grin never left Krystal’s face. “Aw, but you know how much I hate doors!”

Sophia couldn’t help but smile. “So, why did you drop through my ceiling? Better yet, how did you get up there?”

“Dimitri [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/Wind Manipulation|flew]] me. We have to leave. Here, take this.” Krystal grabbed her former hoodie off of Sophia’s dresser. “Hey, this used to be mine. I loved this thing.”

“You can have it back if you want.”

“Nah, it probably wouldn’t fit me anyway. Besides, I gave it to you for a reason. Here.” Krystal tossed the hoodie to Sophia.

“Thanks. Now, why do I need it?”

“There’s some government operation to capture everybody with abilities. Apparently we’re all targets. Nathaniel told Dimitri to get the two of us completely out of the country, just in case.”

“Wow… I… I don’t even know what to say.”

“Then don’t say anything, let’s just go!”

“How long are we going to be gone for?”

“Until we stop them, I’m sure. I don’t know how long that will take though.”

“Fine. Let’s go.” Sophia stood up and Krystal snatched her wrist, leading her out the door.

As she ran down the hallway, Krystal turned her head back to Sophia to talk. “We have to go out to your backyard to meet— Oh, hi Mrs. Oakley…” The girls found themselves in Sophia’s kitchen face to face with Sophia’s mother.

“Krystal? It’s been a while. I didn’t hear you come in. And to be blunt, I don’t recall telling Sophia that she could have friends over.”

“I… umm…”

“Mom, we have to go.”

“I don’t think so, young lady. You never asked me for permission.”

“Mom, this is urgent!”

“Just how urgent could it be?”

“You wouldn’t believe me…”

“Well then you aren’t going anywhere. It was nice to see you again, Krystal.”

“But…” Krystal turned her head to Sophia. “Soph…” Sophia avoided her eyes. “Mrs. Oakley… this could be a matter of life and death.”

“What? What do you mean?”

Sophia heard Krystal sigh before she continued. “Some government guys are coming to take us away.”

“For what?!”

Sophia decided it was her turn to take over. “Look mom, we didn’t do anything wrong, but if they catch us there’s a chance you’ll never see me again.”

“Honey, why would you say that? Your father has connections all over the government, he could get you out….”

“Are you saying I should let myself get captured?”

“Well…”

“Mrs. Oakley, I don’t think it would be that easy…” Before Mrs. Oakley could respond, Sophia’s front door flew open. “Crap! We gotta go, bye Mrs. Oakley!”

“Bye mom.”

“Sophia—” But Sophia never heard what her mother meant to say because Krystal grabbed her shoulder and [[User:Skullman1392/The Hunted/Phasing|dropped]] them both into the basement.
