The '''"Adam future"''' is created by an alternate action which involves [[Maury Parkman]] saving the life of [[User:SylarMonroe/Adam Monroe|Adam Monroe]] after [[Arthur Petrelli]] tries to steal his power. So far, with the creation of this timeline, very little has changed in the timeline as of ''[[An Invisible Thread]]'', but from this stage, Adam becomes more active and an alternate 2008 is created which leads into a new version of Volume Five.

When Arthur tries to [[Power absorption|absorb]] Adam's [[Rapid cell regeneration|ability]] to heal himself from paralysis, Maury creates a [[Telepathy|mental illusion]] which convinces Arthur that Adam is dead. With only part of is power stolen, Adam is allowed to escape later while Arthur heals and leaves with [[Dr. Livitz]]. Maury then tells Adam to run.

After creating an illusion to convince Arthur that Adam is dead, Maury tells Adam to run. Adam flees the [[Pinehearst Headquarters]], rendering Dr. Livitz unconcious on the way out after trying to stop him. Adam then enters an office and steals a gun, promising to come back.

Adam breaks into Pinehearst, rendering a security guard unconcious.

He then meets [[Scott]] who [[Enhanced strength|attacks him]], but he heals and plays dead.

Adam then follows [[Tina Ramierez]] and [[Enhanced memory|remembers]] the security code to enter the main office area. He does so but is grabbed by Tina and [[Michael Fitzgerald]]. The latter lifts him off the ground with his strength while Tina tries to [[Chlorine gas exudation|choke]] him. When he heals in front of them he convinces them he's on their side, and tells them that [[Primatech]] have captured the building and Arthur is dead. Michael goes to check for guards by ripping the security door off, but sees nothing. Adam then shoots him dead and then holds Tina at gunpoint demanding answers.

Next, Adam leads Tina to [[Carla Klaus]]' office and asks of Arthur and the plans of Pinehearst. Carla insists they are just a biotech company, so Adam forces Tina to choke her to death. Adam then offers Tina freedom by giving the guards a distraction so he can continue his rampage by flooding the ground floor with chlorine gas. She does so but passes out from stress while Adam heals much quicker.
