** I love it! I've been wanting to do that since I first read about Heroes, even before I ever caught an episode. (Yes, I'm a latecomer to the show - I've actually still never seen Genesis all the way through.) I especially like the idea for the portal page - makes the most amount of sense there. As for the Season One page, I kind of like that it's a list of all the episodes, albeit a bit long (and growing). Splitting the eps is a bit of dangerous ground - it's not really canonical, and there's no guarantee that eps will continue in arcs as such ... But I say let's go for it - we'll cross problematic bridges as we come to them. I'm not opposed to changing the layout of Season One - just not sure it's the ''best'' place for it. Hey Ryan—here's a quick rundown of the center formatting for portals, just FYI:
* If there's a single item on an incomplete row, or if the number of items on a full row is divisible by the number of items on the incomplete row, the incomplete row can be centered using "colspan". Colspan says that a given cell should be (x) columns wide, and the link will center within the enlarged cell. If there's more than one cell, be sure to use colspan= on each cell. If the main table is 4 cells wide and the last row is 2, you can assign each of the two colspan=2 (or you can just put a blank cell before and after, which is easier).
* If the number of cells is not evenly divisible, it has to be centered using a second table set in a row of the main table. When you do this, colspan has no effect, since it's always relative to the current table (i.e. the inset table, not the main table). Saying "colspan=3" in a table with only one row doesn't do anything, because it doesn't have a row to compare the column size to (you could just as easily say colspan=1000000 and the table would look the same). Instead, you have to adjust the width of the inset table using width=. ::When I was learning HTML, what I found helps is to draw out the table as a grid. Any time you erase a line to combine two side-by-side, use "colspan". Any time you erase a horizontal line to combine two stacked cells, use "rowspan". Personally, I think it's easier to visualize that way than to count cells on each row. BTW, if you're looking for good HTML and CSS references, I highly recommend any of Molly Holzschlag's HTML books. For CSS, I really like Eric Meyer's ''Cascading Style Sheets: The Definitive Guide''.
