Not much to say about me. I set up the site after seeing a few episodes of Heroes and realizing it was going to be a hit. I was inspired by sites like Lostpedia and Memory-Alpha and wanted to do for Heroes what they did for Lost and Star Trek respectively. I also set up the now defunct Bionic Wiki and WatchmenWiki sites. Just here to offer a guiding hand and help keep the info fresh, the real praise for this site goes to all of you making contributions. You're the ones making this site so great! :) |

* If you have an idea for a fan wiki for a new show or other form of entertainment, feel free to let me know. If there's potential, we'll host your wiki for free with your own dedicated domain name. You'll be an administrator (and bureaucrat) and be able to manage the wiki and appoint your own administrative staff. Any advertising revenue earned through Google Ads beyond the first $50/month will be yours to do with as you please. In order to be accepted your wiki should be one of the first for the particular theme and you should be dedicated to making sure it is successful. All languages are welcome! Leave a message on my talk page if you are interested. |

If anyone is experienced creating images or Flash animations, we could definitely use the following: |
|||
*The "rule of Ted" |
|||
* 100x35 button graphic to be used by sites wishing to link to Heroes Wiki using an icon. Button should say "Heroes Wiki". Preferred colors are white text on black background. |
|||
* 728 x 90 banner graphic ad for advertising. Should include "Heroes Wiki" and "heroeswiki.com". If possible should also incorporate the site logo. |
|||
* Flash animation that displays "Are you on the wiki?" using a similar effect and colors as the official "Are you on the list?" animation. Animation should pause for a few seconds and then additionally display "heroeswiki.com". |

If you want to reach me for anything, just post to my talk page. If the matter is sensitive or private, please email me at admin@heroeswiki.com.
I have a journal here where I talk about my personal experiences administering Heroes Wiki if you're interested in my insight.
Suggested Reading
- About this site. Some general rules of thumb and info about this site. Mostly a high-level overview.
- If you're going to be editing articles, definitely check this out beforehand. It'll give you a better idea how we do things around here. :)
Tips
- To automatically strip off a namespace when creating a link, just end with the pipe. ex. User talk:Admin displays as Admin and links to User talk:Admin.
- Try not to bite the newcomers. First impressions are important, so when leaving them messages try to sound cordial and helpful even if they make a few mistakes. If necessary reread your message and try to ensure it comes off as friendly. A bad first experience may discourage a visitor from returning or contributing.
- If a discussion doesn't seem to be getting anywhere or is going around in circles, take a moment and take a step back. Consider whether you may need to approach the situation from a different angle. Sometimes this may reveal that the discussion was actually moot.
- Something being "obvious" is not the same as "having a strong opinion about something." If you're going to use the word "obvious" stop for a minute and give it a second thought. It's usually the latter.
Am I adding a theory?
When contributing to an article here are some red flags that should alert you that your contribution may in fact be a theory and needs to be placed in the Theories section instead:
- Your text includes words such as: probably, maybe, possibly, likely. If you're not sure something is true then feel free to discuss it on the article's talk page. If it's true then it can be added to the article. If there's not enough proof then it's a Theory.
...more to come...
- Your text begins with the words "It is unknown..."
