Perhaps its because she is stronger like Matt Parkman was. He sent his father into a nightmare even if seemingly weaker; Nathan Petrelli first flew as an adult while West flew (proficiently) as a teenager. Claire got rapid cell regeneration as a teenager while Adam much later.
