There are many terms and acronyms used in Heroes and by the fan community. Reading about the series can be a daunting tast for the beginner who doesn't know all these terms. So here is a glossary.

  • AWI — Agency Without Initials. A fan term for the agency Mr. Bennet works for.

  • EDT — Electronic data transception. The name used to qualify Hana's power.
  • EM — Exploding Man, a fan-name for the person who supposedly explodes on November 8th.

  • F_Hiro — A fan-created term for Hiro from the future.

  • IDF — Israeli Defense Forces. Refers to the unit Hana wanted to join. But, an IDF enlisting officer tells her that she cannot join the front line forces in the fight against terrorists.
  • Ikin — Niki backwards. Used by fans to refer to Niki's alter-ego Jessica before her name was known.

  • MM — Mysterious Man. A term used by fans for The Haitian before he was properly introduced.

  • RHA — Red Headed Agent, a name initially used by fans for Elisa Thayer before her name was known.

  • SGS — Super-Genome Symbol, a fan-created name for the symbol that appears frequently within the show.
