Thus all this time, I've thought that Claire had been rather charitable even when ramming his car straight into a wall, or especially charitable when she decided to apologize to him with the whole two-wrongs-don't-make-a-right bit (which is true and with which I agree, but then all this time I've just been considering Brody the lowest kind of filth who got much much better than he deserved). So was there evidence that Brody didn't actually rape Claire's body and I just missed it? --Glue 05:33, 14 February 2007 (EST)

* To answer one question, rape kits nowadays are very advanced in detecting whether or not a woman has been raped. As for whether or not Claire was actually raped, that's unconfirmed. We don't know whether Brody stripped Claire, or whether her clothes were shredded while being dragged, if the water currents washed her clothes away, or if something else happened entirely. Brody is scum, but I just don't seem him as a necrophiliac. I think he rapes more as a matter of circumstance than a matter of perverse fetish and addiction. Though definitely a depraved young man, I don't think he's such a predator that he would rape a girl after he accidentally killed her. That said, there's no way to know for sure.
I'd have to go back and watch the episode and read the GN for a specific mention of "almost" or "tried" or another revealing word. But in the end, I think the writers may have purposely left it somewhat ambiguous. This was not a Boys Don't Cry-style rape, it's meant for television where young viewers sometimes watch. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:09, 14 February 2007 (EST)

Wasn't she actually raped?

I've been rather confused on this matter. That coroner or whoever said Claire's body was pulled from Red River Creek, found naked and dragged. While removal of clothes could be to delay the identification of her body, that still highly suggests to me that she was likely raped after she died. She wasn't examined for signs of rape and, not being female, I'm not sure how easy or difficult it is for a girl to tell if she's been violated like such, especially after what Claire's been through. But I'd thought that Brody likely had raped her because he stripped her nude before abandoning her, and that Claire and her dad only had the idea that Brody tried to.. or that Claire did know better but only chose to tell her dad that he tried to force her.
