Jimmy Wright is an evolved human with the ability of Spontaneous Combustion. Jimmy is also an assassin for Quantum.

Character History

A Southern Boy

Jimmy was raised on in large old farmhouse in Alabama by his violent, abusive father. As a boy, he would often "borrow" his father's rifle and shoot at birds that would perch on the barn. At first he wouldn't even come close, just scaring the birds at most. But, after awhile, he began to get a better aim. Jimmy would often tell his dad that he wanted to be a sniper in the army. His father would just laugh and say that Jimmy wasn't army material. He was too soft, too weak. It was because of this that he grew to hate his father, a hate that would play a integral role later in his life.

Manifesting

Jimmy was a very angry child. His father would constantly abuse him, both physically and emotionally. School didn't help either. He was often the center of cruel practical jokes by both students and teachers. His let his anger build up, promising himself someday he would be able to do something about it. Little did he know that that day would be soon.

It was during an assembly that it happened. Brian Vear, the captain of the football team, was giving a speech for student council. During the speech, he made several derogatory remarks towards him. Enraged, he felt called to stare at him. As he stared, Brian began to sweat. His face turned red. Brian started to cough and collapsed onto the ground. The people in the front row rushed to see if he was okay. Then, suddenly, Brian burst into flames. Jimmy almost flew back. The whole auditorium started screaming. Brian screamed and thrashed around, the flames burning and searing his skin. Finally, Brian's burning, charred body ceased to move.

Monster

The next few weeks of Jimmy's life would be the most difficult. He eventually came to grips with the fact that he had superpowers. He wondered where he had gotten them. God? Satan? Evolution? Drugs? He really didn't care. All he knew is that he liked it. Jimmy knew that he could finally get his revenge on the ones he hated most. And that meant his father.

He would often sit and stare at his father, trying to recreate how he killed Brian Vear. But, after days of trying, he finally stopped trying. Maybe he hadn't killed Brian after all.

Days later, Jimmy and his father Barry got into a huge fight. The two men started screaming at each other at the top of their lungs. In the heat of the moment, Barry chucked a book at Jimmy. Jimmy fell to the floor, the book cutting his face. Barry stood over Jimmy and glared down. As Jimmy stared at his father, the feeling he got when he killed Brian returned. His father started coughing and sweating, his face turning red. Barry begged Jimmy to stop whatever he was doing, but Jimmy just kept on staring. Barry went into spasms, and seconds later he burst into flames.

Jimmy could hear his father's screams as he packed his bags and headed out his house. Jimmy turned and looked at his house one last time. Already the flames were spreading to the rest of his house. In just a few minutes the entire house would be up in flames. That was good, Jimmy thought. His old life was officially dead. Jimmy turned and faced his future.
