[[Derek]] buys a [[newspaper]] from the shop and shows [[Sylar]] the picture in the newspaper with [[Maya]] and [[Alejandro]]'s mugshot. Derek tells him they've been riding together for two days, and Sylar tells him to call the police. As Derek goes inside, Sylar takes a brick and follows Derek, then comes back to the [[Nissan Rogue|car]] alone. Sylar asks Maya if it is them on the newspaper, and she tries to explain. Sylar tells them that Derek is calling the police. Her eyes [[Maya's ability|go black]], and Sylar begins to sicken. Alejandro uses his [[Alejandro's ability|ability]] to reverse the effects, and Sylar realizes they both have [[powers|abilities]]. Sylar decides to drive without Derek--who lies dead by the phone, having been [[Sylar's victims|killed]] by a blow to the head with a brick. A [[cockroach]] crawls next to his body. |
