The Mark
The mark consists of a pair of short parallel lines. It first appears in nearly the same spot on the necks of Matt Parkman and Theodore Sprague shortly after they first encounter one another.
Notes
- The mark's appearance indicates it may be two of the "rungs" or base-pair bonds of The Symbol.

Fan Theories
- The mark may be used by Mr. Bennet and The Haitian to mark heroes they've already encountered
- The mark may be an immature state of Jessica's marking of the symbol, indicating that the mark might develop as the character gains more experience with their powers. However, it seems likely that Ted's powers have been around as long as Niki's.
- The mark may be used merely to dennote a connection between the two characters, possibly in opposition to characters marked with The Symbol like Jessica and The Haitian.
