Her father got remarried a few years later. Semmie's stephmother beat her and made her do all chores in and around the house. after she hid a camera in the house and recorded her stephmother beating her, she showed the tape to her father, who divorced his second wife. She swore revenge and so hit Semmie with her car months later. Semmie spend 3 months in the hospital, and somehow her hearing system was heavily damaged, leaving her hearing impared. Sometime after this was made known to her, her ability manifested, starting her new life. | psych = Being a social outcast, Semmie turned to music as company.
