Anomalistic Abilities are abilities or qualities that normal human beings do not possess. They may be ordinary abilities taken to extraordinary heights, or they may be abilities so miraculous as to appear supernatural. Some Anomalistic Abilities are simply things that everyone can do, but simply not as well.

These abilities often require more energy than can be provided by normal biological processes, leading to the theory that those who possess them have mitochondria in their cells that operate at a levels an order of magnitude or more greater than typical.

Manipulation of nature and the traditional elements

Aerokinesis Aerokinesis is the ability to affect air or move air. Aerokinetics may be able to fly, use air to push objects (including people) away, or even create atmospheric conditions such as a tornado.

Aquakinesis (Hydrokinesis) Aquakinesis allows the user to manipulate water. This user can make it rain when just a moment before it was sunny. They also can extract moisture from the surrounding air to create forces of water, be they short blasts of water or concentrated "beams" of water that can erode substances at an accelerated rate. It is not known if they can affect the temperature of the water they create. However if used in conjunction with a Cryo or Pyro, the water could be made extremely hot or cold.

Chronokinesis The age old idea of time travel. Lots of new research is hinting that slowing down, reversing or traveling through time is fast becoming a reality. It may also be possible for a human to manifest the ability to control time itself. This ability may also include the manipulation of space as well in accordance with the time-space continuum.

Cryokinesis This ability enables the user to manipulate ice, both creating ice from moisture in the air and making themselves into movable ice.

Electrokinesis The ability to break ionic bonds and push oppositely charged ions apart, and subsequently create electric fields. This inevitably causes an electric discharge. Simply put, the electrokinetic can create lightning.

Gravity Manipulation This user can manipulate the forces of gravity to his will. This ability does not imply flight, but control of pressure forces acting upon an individual. While the user cannot fly, he has a nearly limitless jumping ability. Furthermore, he can cause objects to gravitate toward him and crush things with extreme pressures.

Kinetic absorption This ability allows the user to absorb kinetic energy and then refocus it in variously different ways. Some can refocus the energy as beams of pure kinetic energy. Others can use it to enhance their own strength or endurance.

Magnetic Manipulation An ability involving the creation or control of magnetic fields. It can manifest itself in many ways. With very little skill, a user may be able to move magnetic metals. A higher amount of skill may be able to reconstruct metals.

Probability Manipulation The ability to subliminally initiate random telekinetic acts that alter probability in the user's favor by causing unlikely things to happen or likely things to not happen.

Pyrokinesis This ability enables its user to manipulate fire. How the person creates fire is not yet known. However it is a reasonable assumption that spontaneous combustion is part of the process.

Smoke Manipulation This ability is thought to be a combination of the pyrokinesis and aerokinesis abilities. The user can create and manipulate smoke. The applied ability usually results in using this as a type of stealth enhancement.

Terrakinesis The ability to literally move the Earth. Not quite the planet itself, but dirt, rocks, etc. It is believed that through practice this user may be able to move land formations of great size, possibly that of a mountain. This could be merely a focused or limited application of Telekinesis.

Weather Manipulation The ability to control barometric pressure in the atmosphere and humidity at will, resulting in the change of weather patterns and formation of freak weather conditions.

Manipulation of waves

Audiokinesis The ability to alter the frequency and intensity in soundwaves. The audiokinetic is capable of focusing or expanding waves of air-pressure which create sound. This does not only include the manipulation of existing sounds to distort them, make them quieter or louder, but also to create new sounds. An adept person with audiokinesis can create sonic pressure waves which can be used as an offensive weapon against foes.

Cyberkinesis This ability differs from technokinesis in that it is a manipulation of waves instead of technology. The user acts as their own internet hub, allowing them to sift through the internet in their mind. Furthermore, they can manipulate existing waves and create their own, giving them the ability to communicate with any computer on the fly, regardless of if it has a working internet connection.

Hermekinesis This ability can be described as the ability to bend light around oneself in such a way as to appear different. Some might confuse this with morphing. There is no physical morphing that occurs with this ability and certain equipment can be used to "see" the real person behind the illusion. In theory this power may be related to Invisibility.

Invisibility This user has the aptitude to bend light around them in such a way as they "appear" to not be visible. It is not known if infrared scanners can detect the user's heat signature and make them visible, since infrared light may be manipulated by the user just like visible light. It would depend on the level of conscious control the user has over the ability, and their awareness of what frequency of light they are bending - theoretically a user with great control could alter the path of any frequency of light from Radio to Gamma, but more likely it is a reflexive ability and only applies to what the user instinctively understands as visibility, which would not include frequencies beyond the range of their own vision. This ability may be an adaptation of Hermekinesis.

Optikinesis The ability to control all forms of light. While the abilities of hermekinesis and invisibility are usually limited to the realm of yourself, the optikenetic can manipulate all forms of light, not just the light around herself. This may include the manipulation of shadows, the creation of blinding beams of light, illusion creation, and the abilities listed under invisibility and hermekinesis. This ability is one of the most overwhelming once it has newly manifested, only rivaled by mimikinesis, and to grasp all of the abilities listed above would take an insurmountable amount of practice.

Radiokinesis The ability to generate and sometimes control excessive levels of ionizing radiation. At lower levels, it involves the biological accumulation of naturally occurring radioisotopes (such as the radium present in much ground water) without harm to oneself. At the superhuman level, it can potentially involve the ability to generate as much hard radiation as a nuclear bomb.

Umbrakinesis Umbrakinesis is the ability to control all forms of darkness. Whether or not this is just an offshoot of Optikenesis is unknown. Most known Umbrakinetics can create darkness out of nowhere, blend in with shadows, teleport through shadows, and create weapons and constructs from darkness.

Manipulation of atoms and matter

Atomic Transmutation Atomic transmutation is the ability to take atomic particles and reconfigure them in such a way that they can become an entirely different element. For example, one with this ability could take water and transform the molecules so that they would become a diamond. Atomic Transmutation is more powerful than the similar Molecular Transmutation as it operates at a much finer level, shifting protons and electrons to change the basic nature of the substances involved.

Biokinetic Acceleration The ability to accelerate matter via absorption through one's bodily system (generally via the hands), resulting in a catalytic increase in the velocity of the absorbed object before being expelled from the opposite hand at an incredibly high rate of speed. Similar to creating an electromagnetic acceleration system (or Gauss gun), however it does not rely on the material absorbed to hold a magnetic charge or be effected by electrical current.

Cellulokinesis Similar in appearance to Hermekinesis, this ability can be used to change the appearance of the user or possibly other people. However, this ability actually changes the molecular setup of the object to actually change it, instead of just appearing to have changed. A Cellulokinetic may also be able to alter their own mass or the shape of inanimate objects.

Deatomization A powerful ability, this user can remove the cohesion between atoms. It is not known if this means that electrons are redistributed in some manner and/or if the process creates ions. It is also not known if the user can reconstruct objects they have deatomized.

Molecular Transmutation Molecular Transmutation is the ability to manipulate atomic bonds within a substance. Though changes may be radical, the basic elemental composition of the material remains unchanged - for example water may be transmuted into hydrogen and oxygen, or coal may be changed into diamond. Atomic Transmutation is a more powerful version of this ability, operating at the atomic level.

pH Manipulation This ability allows one to change the pH of a solution on the fly. Users have been known to use acids offensively. This ability usually also includes the superhuman resistance ability for pH. Further research of those with pH manipulation have discovered that the ability is facilitated by the breaking and rebinding of atomic bonds in water-based bodies. Those with the ability to turn a liquid into a base do so by causing H+ ions in a solution to bind together, producing hydrogen gas. The hydrogen gas bubbles away from the liquid, and the end product is a higher concentration of OH- ions, and therefore a basic substance. Conversely, those with the ability to turn a liquid into an acid do so by breaking the bonds of the OH- ion, and causing the oxygen ions to bind together to create oxygen gas. Much like the hydrogen, it bubbles away as well, producing the characteristic "boiling" look of water being turned into an acid or a base. It has been suggested that this byproduct of pH Manipulation can be used for unintended, although equally useful purposes. Theoretically, a Manipulator could survive underwater by continually turning small amounts of the water into acid and collecting the oxygen byproduct. In a similar vein, a skilled Manipulator could possibly convert water vapor into a base, collecting the buoyant hydrogen gas and using it to propel a zeppelin-like device, although this raises significant fire hazards.

Phasing This users ability is one of the more unique ones. Having the ability to change ones mass as to be able to pass through solid objects. It is also believed that an advanced user of this ability can change their mass as to make them more dense, almost immovable. D.L. Hawkins has exhbited this ability. This ability may be better explained as a form of quantum tunneling, rather than the somewhat less plausible density manipulation. No amount of density reduction would permit a person to pass through a non-permeable, non-porous substance. Also referred to as physical intangiblity, this process can also be considered a telekinetic skill. It is also theorized to work by 'separating' body molecularly by shifting the body's molecules into the spaces between atomic particles in solid objects. Considering that mass is constant, the thoery that simply reducing it in order to phase may fault itself.

Telekinesis The ability to move or deform inanimate objects, through mental processes.

Enhanced human capabilities (Physical)

Bone manipulation The ability to manipulate one's own bone structure. This can result in the creation of sharp appendages protruding out of the body or a protective exoskeleton.

Egokinesis Literally, manipulation of the self, this ability allows a user to manipulate their own body parts. Most often, this is manifested in the ability to stretch one’s own appendages. This is caused by an abnormal elasticity in the user’s body structures, allowing them to contort themselves into nearly limitless positions.

Flight This person has the ability to break free of gravity. How this is done is still a mystery. Does the person temporarily lose mass so as to be lighter than air? Do they create a magnetic field around themselves to repel the law of gravity? More research will go into this amazing ability.

Healing The ability to rapidly heal oneself or another with an act of will.

Mechanical Intuition The ability to intuitively understand how things function. Despite the name, it can be applied to any system or construct, be it social, biological or structural. This ability can be used to fix a broken or imperfect system by being able to sense intuitively how it should work and then repairing it by normal means. Similarly, it can be used to determine a system's weak points and thus break it down. Technopaths are often able to manifest a similar ability, limited to machines.

Pheromone manipulation The ability to control the secretion of ones own pheromones. This usually results in but is not limited to appearing to be unbelievably attractive to the opposite (or same) sex. This can result in the ability to heavily manipulate those attracted to you. Other human pheromones can also be secreted on command, but sex pheromones appear to be the most useful.

Precision Accuracy A natural perception of depth, strength and numerous external factors which might make one particularly skilled at throwing or catching an object. This ability is very useful in competitive sports, but it may be possible for a person's accuracy to be supernaturally perfected.

Superhuman Perception Involves the heightened perception of surroundings in relation to one's self. This would allow one to judge distances accurately and to be aware of more than one version of reality thus becoming the cream of the fight. For example, a person with this ability might be able to have unusual balance and coordination on high or narrow structures, and jump from place to place without missing a step easily rising up to the challenge of their rivals. Such a person might also prove as a counter against perception-distorting abilities such as light manipulation enabling them to stalk their prey in the night.

Size Manipulation Through manipulation of the bone structure, skin and muscle tissues, this ability allows someone to grow to enormous sizes or shrink to diminutive ones.

Spontaneous Regeneration The ability to heal oneself, however without any scarring and at a much more accelerated rate than normal humans or even the ability of healing itself. Generally takes place without conscious volition. This ability may include an elimination of the sensation of pain, but more research in this aspect is needed.

Superhuman Reflexes The ability to react much quicker than the normal human. When highly trained, the individual gains a sort of sixth sense in which he can detect things and react to them shortly before they happen.

Superhuman Senses Any of the 5 human senses are pushed to extremes, virtually eliminating their absolute thresholds and difference thresholds. In addition to making slight changes vastly more noticeable, the enhanced sense performs on a much higher level than that of a normal human. For example, a person with 200/20 vision would have superhuman sight, or a person who could hear a conversation happening several city blocks away would have superhuman hearing. When highly trained, a person with a superhuman sense could achieve things beyond the realm of an extraordinary ability, such as X-ray vision or hearing extremely high or low frequency sounds. Dale Smither exhibited an accentuated sense of hearing prior to her demise.

Superhuman Awareness Increased awareness of one's self and one's surroundings. A person with constant awareness would have no problem noticing details or slight changes in atmosphere, and is capable of great concentration and 'remaining in the present'. For example, one would be able to sense without effort when a person has just walked into a room or is standing behind them. Is not to be confused with Superhuman Senses.

Superhuman Speed This power allows the user to move and perceive at speeds much faster than a normal human. This is thought to be caused by an abnormally high metabolism. This can also be a side-effect or by-product of an ability to control one's relationship to time and space.

Superhuman Strength Another of the self explanatory abilities, this user's strength has been increased exponentially. It is believed that the user's muscles are tighter and more dense than that of a normal human, giving them increased strength. How much stronger they are is not yet fully known but it is believed that with training this person can achieve strength that can lift/pull/push many tons.

Weight Manipulation Without changing mass or gravity, an individual with weight manipulation can spontaneously change their weight. This allows a person to essentially become either weightless (floating, walking on water) or extremely heavy and potentially immovable, as well as all areas between these ranges.

Enhanced human capabilities (Mental)

Ability Activation The ability to jump-start latent superhuman powers in others.

Ability Suppression This unique ability allows a person to suppress the abilities of others. It is thought to suppress through a selective paralysis of the brain, specifically in the frontal lobe where mental abilities manifest themselves. There are only recorded cases of those with the ability to suppress mental abilities such as telepathy and inhibition manipulation, but theoretically, forms of this ability that suppress physical abilities is very plausible.

Amnemopathy This ability allows one to erase the memories of others. When exercised to its maximum potential, this ability has no limit - the user could completely remove the short-term and long-term memories of another, leaving the victim in a comatose state.

Clairvoyance A form of extra-sensory perception in which knowledge is acquired via paranormal means. Clairvoyance is different from telepathy in that the information gained by a clairvoyant is assumed to derive directly from an external physical source, and not from another person's mind. Clairvoyance does not necessarily contain precognitive knowledge.

Dream Manipulation This ability allows the user to change the dreams of an individual. Usually the user can manipulate the subconscious of an individual to act as a sort of spirit guide and to supply answers to hard questions the dreamer is looking for. This ability may also include the power to make people fall asleep, but that is unknown at this time.

Emotion Manipulation This ability can be described as using one's mind to change responses in their own or another's brain, resulting in changes in emotions. With a thought, one could make a brave man panic, for example.

Empathy Having the ability to feel what others are feeling. Those who claim to be empathetic often say it's a liability. With so much pain and suffering in the world today, they can feel this more than they can the goodness that comes from people who are happy. Only a highly trained empath can "shut off" those emotions they wish not to feel and can concentrate on specific individuals. The Empathy and Mimikinesis abilites are closely related, but a direct connection has not been made yet.

Hypoperceptability This telepathic ability creates a psychic shroud that nullifies the user's existence to the sensory perceptions of observers, causing them to ignore hearing or feeling the user's presence. Rendering the user nearly imperceptible.

Induced Hallucinations A form of telepathy, this ability allows the user to induce hallucinations in another's mind. Unlike optikenesis, where light is bent to create illusions, the hallucinations created by this ability are all in the target person's mind. This ability's possibilities are extremely large and only limited by one’s imagination.

Inhibition Manipulation A form of telepathy, this ability allows you to manipulate the inhibitions of others, placing them in an extreme state of suggestibility. When the user suggests something to someone, they will feel a strange compulsion to do what they are told. In extreme cases, people have been known to kill themselves or kill others due to the effects of this ability.

Mind Control An extreme form of telepathy, this ability gives the user complete control over another person's mind. It is debatable whether or not this is an ability in itself, or just the pinnacle of the telepathy or inhibition manipulation abilities.

Necrokinesis It is the aptitude to produce death without the need of any other explicit power. It is thought to be an extreme form of telepathy where the user just commands the target brain to shut off. Another theory would be that this ability is an extremely focused form of electrokinesis concerning the firing of neurons. This implies that a person would not only be able to kill someone, but bring them back to life as well.

Precognition An offshoot of clairvoyance in which a person can see the future. The user never explicitly sees the future, but goes into a sort of subconscious trance in which he will write, paint, draw or talk about the future. The user does not remember the trance once it has finished, but can observe the products of it.

Psionic blasts A form of telepathy, the user can create a psionic link with another and cause a sort of mental overload. Side effects of this include pain, memory loss, or loss of consciousness. In extremely unique cases, this ability may allow blows from the user to create mental pain in addition to physical. Long-term use of this ability on a same subject could finally lead to brain deseases such as tumors or cerebral spillage.

Superhuman Memory The ability to remember things much more readily than a normal human. Those with superhuman memories usually only need to read or hear something once and they will never forget it again. With practice, those gifted with this ability can approach near omniscience, being able to discern things without actually explicitly learning or hearing about them.

Technopathy This ability gives the user the power to control electronic devices requiring only physical contact with the device. Such a person could potentially override security codes and infiltrate an installation with ease by manipulating any electronic device. Micah Sanders has exhibited this ability.

Telepathic Communication with Non-Humans The idea that telepathic communications can be exchanged and understood between humans and non-humans such as lizards, birds, dogs, or even cockroaches. The theory is that a telepathic human communique is reconstructed into more basic impulse patterns than can be picked up by an animal. As a result or which, it would be much easier to communicate with animals with higher brain functions.

Telepathy This ability can be described as the communication between minds by some means other than sensory perception. In simple terms, the telepath can read minds.

Miscellaneous

Amplification The ability to increase an ability of another person temporarily.

Enhanced vocification Enhanced Vocification is the extra-ordinary ability of accentuating utterances of the vocal chords to utilize a myriad variety of unpredictable results. This ability has also been known to gravitate beyond vocal chords to that of the written word as an extention of the spoken word.

Force fields The user can create a barrier around themselves. There is much debate as to if this field is psionically based or manipulation of surrounding potential energy into a protective kinetic barrier. Either way, this barrier prevents anything from entering or leaving while it is active. Normally a spherical shape, the user is the focal center of the sphere, but with practice, the field shape can be manipulated and created around things other than the user.

Intuitive Aptitude The ability to go beyond understanding how something works, to being able to do it. Where one with intuitive aptitude might be able to copy a learnable skill, someone with Residual Emulation can copy even Anomalistic Abilities.

Metallic Exoskeleton The ones with this ability can cover their own body (and maybe, at a higher level, someone else’s) whith a layer of a high-resistant organic metal over their epidermis, making themselves practically indestructible. It is not yet known how this power precisely works, for the last researches with these individuals have only showed that they have a higher amount of iron in their blood than usual people, but still not at a significant rate. This ability often has a side effect: when "metalized", the individual has his strength enhanced, as if they had superhuman Strength.

Obtenebrative Teleportation The ability to transport one's entire form and those of others through locations of equal or lesser scale upon the Luminesence Intensity Scale (LIS) less than or equal to -25 candela (or candle-power). Put simply, the ability to travel between shadowed areas. Often thought to truly be normal teleporting abilities held back by a derangement of the psyche. Could also fall under the power of Umbrakinesis.

Possession The idea that one can take control of another person’s body with their own cognitive senses and mind intact within that person's body and overlapping their own, be it by astral projection or metaphysical means.

Residual Emulation This ability makes its user a sponge of Anomalistic Abilities, making it arguably the most powerful and dangerous ability of all. Residual emulators are extremely rare and often don’t understand how to use all of their abilities until forced, perhaps as a defense mechanism or the like. Abilities are often unknowingly copied by residual emulators when within a certain range of others with Anomalistic Abilities.

Self-Duplication The ability to duplicate or externally "recreate" ones entire physical body. Possibly through some advanced form of rapid cell division.

Teleportation The ability to dematerialize oneself at one point and reappear at another.
