Paul Hortaius is one of the first evolved humans to walk the face of the Earth. He is a self appointed guardian of normal humans that are abused by specials. It is his life's work to better the quality of life for all.
Character History
Born around 400 BC, Paul has lived for over two millennium. He has seen everything from times of the most terrible wars and times of unparalleled peace. Through it all he has been the one constant. Once he became aware of his abilities he removed himself from the world. He saw his gifts as an unfair advantage over all others. He worked and invested over the centuries and is a billionaire several times over (that barely scratches the surface of what he has given away). He ran into The Circle in Venice and was persuaded to join them. He agreed to here them out but was not interested. They attempted to coerce him but because of his ancient age he was not swayed telepathically nor in their attempts to [[Mental manip[ulation|block his access]] to his abilities. He used his advanced healing touch to convince them to leave. He parted company with them and moved on. He would have to oppose them. In the "old days" abilities were rare. Nowadays a little to common place for his tastes. In the past there were abusers but it was something that could be dealt with. This new breed, this Circle was a problem that had to be addressed. Evolved Human Abilities
RCR (also referred to as rapid cellular regeneration, spontaneous regeneration, tissue regeneration, epithelial cell regeneration, or simply regeneration or healing) is the ability to regenerate cells at an increased rate, resulting in physical injuries healing in a matter of seconds or minutes and Advanced Healing Touch is the ability to cause other individuals to heal injuries at an increased rate, resulting in complete recovery in a matter of seconds. In some cases the user is able to drain the life out of living subjects, thus killing them. This ability was only available through physical contact but over time he has been able to use it without any contact whatsoever and Enhanced Memory (also referred to as eidetic memory or enhanced thought processing) is the ability to quickly absorb and accurately retain great amounts of information.
