My thoughts (prediction) on HRG
He will eventually be found to have a power.
His power will have something to do with 'blocking powers'.
Why #1?
The show is trying too hard to stick the Hatian around when Matt tries to use his powers on and around HRG. The Godsend show really seemed to overdue this.
Why #2? (The Real Why)
If you go back and examine the full Trascript of Fallout [1], or carefully rewatch the video, you will out the following. Both times when HRG visited Sylar's cell, the Hatian was not present. Especially the first time, HRG was giving 'Gabriel' down the road, hounding and antagonizing him saying things like, "you'll find your abilities won't work. Not here"....and they didn't. HGR was alone with Sylar....just like Eden was later alone with Sylar (when his powers worked quite effectively).
So where was the Hatian when HRG was first visiting Sylar's Cell? If you follow the video or transcript, the Hatian meets HRG and Eden after HGR left the cell, walked down the hall away from the cell together with Eden asking permission to kill Sylar, and not until they are about to leave the building do they meet the Hatian coming toward them from outside.
Both of HRG visits to Sylar were 'Hatian-less', and he was as confident as a pig in mud. Yet, when Eden went in to visit Sylar without the Hatian or HGR, she was bug-screened by Sylar.
I believe the show is trying to make us think the Hatian alone is 'the static' but I rather, believe he is only memory manipulations....and the HGR himself is the one with the 'blocking power'.
Until this point, only Sylar and Peter show signs of containing multiple powers; all of the other characters are single-threaded. But if you believe HGR is powerless, then the Hatian has two powers; 1) memory wipe, and 2) power blocking. I don't buy that.
HGR is a 'blocker'. That's why he wasn't afraid of Sylar when the Hatian wasn't there.
