Character History

Four Months Later...

Bob approaches Mohinder after one of Mohinder's lectures--at least the third he's attended. When Mohinder tells Bob that he's not going to run any more, Bob offers him a job and tries to convince Mohinder to come to work with him, resorting to mentioning Shanti, Mohinder's sister, who was supposedly a secret.

Bob tells Mohinder that he can offer him the funding to complete his research on the Shanti virus. When told that the funding would be extremely expensive, Bob transforms the spoon he is holding into gold, telling Mohinder that they have their "own private Fort Knox".

Lizards

After noting the comforts of the Company's jet, Bob informs Mohinder of his assignment to Port-au-Prince to contain the virus that may affect the evolved human.

Later, Mohinder is questioned by Bob as to where the Haitian is. When Mohinder does not recall any interaction with the Haitian, Bob realizes that Mohinder's vaccine must have worked, since the Haitian's ability must be working.

Kindred

Mohinder arrives at Isaac's loft, where Bob is reading Issue 14 of 9th Wonders! while he waits. He informs Mohinder that Isaac was murdered by Sylar, and shows him the new laboratory the Company has built for him. To Mohinder's shock, Bob tells him that he will be under constant surveillance, for both Mohinder's and the Company's best interests. He tells Mohinder that he's "part of the family now".

Later, Bob provides Mohinder with a vial for studying, and then receives a phone call. Leaving the loft, he talks to Niki, who asks Bob if she can be cured. Bob assures her that they can, but that she must give them something of hers in exchange.

The Kindness of Strangers

Nathan Petrelli shows Matt Parkman a photo of a group of twelve that includes Bob. Nathan remarks that he does not know Bob's last name.

Fight or Flight

After Molly searches for Matt's father, she falls into a coma. Against Noah's wishes, Mohinder takes Molly to the Company for treatment. There, Bob promises that he will care for her before giving Mohinder an assignment to find another evolved human and giving him a taser. Jessica breaks out of her confinement and attacks him only to be stopped when Mohinder electrocutes her. Niki is confined in a hospital bed. Bob tells her that multiple personality disorder is a serious problem and tries to reassure her.

After Maury escapes, Matt and Nathan find in his apartment a death threat for Bob with the symbol on it. Matt tells Nathan that Bob runs the Company.

Elle calls her father, and tells him that she knows Peter is in Ireland, and that she killed Ricky. Her father tells her to come home, and she reluctantly agrees.

The Line

In a gym at the Company's hospital, Bob finds Monica and Mohinder. Bob reassures her that her ability is incredible. Monica asks who he is, and he introduces himself as chief of operations for the Company. He asks to speak to Mohinder in private. He reveals to Mohinder the next step of the testing: a variation of the Shanti virus. Mohinder explains that they could create an incurable version of the virus, and that it can spread, but Bob treats it as a risk they need to take. Mohinder tries to reason that Monica is a nice girl who loves her ability, but Bob is still willing to make Mohinder inject her.

Later, Mohinder comes up to Bob and tells him that he will not inject the virus into Monica to take away her ability, throwing the syringe away. Bob tells him that they'll find someone else to do it, and there's plenty more of the virus left over. Mohinder throws a stool at a storage cabinet full of vials and tells Bob that he's taking Molly.

Mohinder finds Molly still in a coma, and Bob comes to apologize to Mohinder. Bob explains that he has been with the Company for thirty years, and they have made many difficult decisions, some of which he still regrets. Bob explains that in dealing with a dangerous individual, he made a poor decision in forcing Mohinder to give Monica the virus. Mohinder remembers the file with Adam Monroe's name written on it, and Bob agrees. Bob explains that Mohinder is with the Company not just for his research or his blood, but to keep them in line. Mohinder notes that Molly is not ready to leave, and that he does not trust Bob at all, and Bob explains that he has someone who will help with Mohinder's trust issues.

Bob brings Monica to her home and explains that her story is covered. He gives her a list of contact information and a video iPod with footage of just about anything for her to learn using her ability. She thanks him, and he replies that New Orleans could use her skills.

Out of Time

Bob suggests that the Shanti virus be used on Maury, who has come to kill Bob. However, Maury uses his ability to put Niki in a dream and DL tells her to kill Bob. In order to stop herself, she injects the virus in herself. Mohinder tries to treat her with his antibodies, but finds that the virus has mutated and cannot be stopped by his blood. When he tells this to Bob, Bob decides to destroy all the vials of the virus they have, and that they must find Claire. Bob explains that her regenerative ability may help save Niki. Mohinder tells Bob that he has been working with Noah Bennet to take down the Company and he does not know what is right anymore. After Mohinder's confession, Bob gives Mohinder a Company issue gun.

Bob tells Nathan that Peter is still alive, and shows him video surveillance to prove it.

Four Months Ago...

Just after the explosion created by Peter, Bob orders Elle to intercept him at the hospital where he took his burned brother Nathan. When she brings Peter in, he tells him that they are going to help him, but show that his powers have been negated by both pills and the Haitian. Bob also picks up Niki and gives her pills to control Jessica. After Peter and Adam Monroe escape from the facility, Bob has the Haitian and Elle track them down to the docks.

In the present day, Bob and Niki say "goodbye" before Niki leaves the facility.

Cautionary Tales

Bob is formally identified as Robert Bishop on the group of 12 picture that Matt Parkman has been researching. Bob plans a mission with Mohinder and Elle to grab Claire and in the process, and succeeds in reaching her at her house. Meanwhile, his daughter Elle who encounters Noah, is knocked out by West who flies in and slams her against the car. Elle is strapped and placed in water, preventing her from using her powers and incidentally electrocuting herself. Bob takes some of Claire's blood and receives a call from Noah that he will kill Elle if Bob doesn't give Claire back. Outside Costa Verde, Bob is present at the trade off with Elle and Claire being swapped. As soon as West flies Claire away, Elle shoots West and Claire, sending them plummeting to the ground, and Noah shoots Elle in the arm. Bob attends to Elle and Noah points the gun at his head. Just before he can pull the trigger, Mohinder shoots Noah in the eye, just as depicted in the series of eight paintings by Isaac Mendez.
