I don't know if anyone else has purchased the ''Heroes Revealed'' book, but it includes an episode summary at the end. Interestingly enough, it seems the book went to press when scripts were still being altered for ''A Clear and Present Danger'' (and ''Our Father''). It says both Matt and Daphne are captured (if I recall), both Usutu and Isaac Mendez appearing to Matt and also a completely different storyline for Sylar. It says Danko's team go to capture an evolved human called Denise, but Sylar kills all of them and then takes Denise's power. There was an interview some months ago that said both Isaac and Usutu were to appear originally (it might have been BTE) so I'm sure this was the old plan. It also has Sparrow Redhouse fulfilling exactly the same role as Sue Landers in ''Our Father'', power as well. Is this information worth including or is it too speculative to assume it as the original plot? [[User:SylarMonroe|SylarMonroe]] 14:37, 14 June 2009 (EDT)

Include the summary from the introduction of Vol. 4?

Although it's not of the whole episode, I think the introduction shown in Dual should be summarized and included in this episode's description for the time being. Criminally Vulgar 00:41, 17 December 2008 (EST)

  • We would've been wrong if we had done that for Volume 3. - Josh (talk/contribs) 01:01, 17 December 2008 (EST)

Unknown Hero

In the behind the scene videos, tracy is sitting next to someone, who as far as i can tell and remember isn't someone we've seen before. Any ideas who he is?-ViciousKillgasm 10:53, 23 December 2008 (EST)

  • Is it Ricardo Silva?

Another question about a new hero I have is who was sitting next to matt during the transport? She is a tan dark haired lady only in the screen for 2-3 seconds.

  • I actually thought I imagined that person. I believe we can rule out Maya and Monica as being that woman since they probably would've shown us her face since we actually know these two. --Ikkian 22:32, 3 February 2009 (EST)
    • I'd lay 5 to 1 on Sparrow Redhouse. Hopefully she'll show up someday. --Yamawhata? 20:54, 4 February 2009 (EST)
      • If it is her, she should survive the crash then? Or will that be another unknown hero that will die?--Ikkian 22:19, 4 February 2009 (EST)

Spoiler

Question

Anyone know when this will be aired in the UK, i.e BBC Two. MIDAS 13:34, 6 January 2009 (EST)

  • No one knows yet, bit impatient aren't you? :) But a week or two after it is aired in America sounds appropriate considering Volume 3 was shown round about that in the UK. Super-Hiro

Wow

I was thoroughly impressed for this episode. Has a completely different feel than Villains. Dracomaster4 22:07, 2 February 2009 (EST)

  • Very good episode and return. Had many awesome scenes and the opening was great. Heroes is back, and I'm enjoying it a lot. Even the SILLINESS was kept at a minimum, and it had a very serious and emotional ending scene. I give it an A-/A.--Citizen 22:08, 2 February 2009 (EST)
  • Is anyone ever heard the term goes faster when your having fun well this episode it was a beginning and an end that's how cool this episode was.--Datnymonster 22:15, 2 February 2009 (EST)
  • I agree. It was a very good episode, but of course I always like the show. :P BTW, Sylar is a badass. Bloodbath 22:18, 2 February 2009 (EST)
    • Every time I watch an episode written by The Man Himself, I'm fascinated. He has such a knack for giving enough information to keep you interested and intrigued, yet never enough that you know everything there is to know. I've always felt very invested in the characters, and now even more so. Kring's writing makes me anxious to find out what happens next week. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:53, 2 February 2009 (EST)
      • Something really felt different about this episode that I think was more than just the writing. I don't know how to describe it except that it felt like it had more heart. (Admin 22:55, 2 February 2009 (EST))
    • I agree with those badass sentiments, but the only thing that bugged me is how Sylar survived. Again. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 22:55, 2 February 2009 (EST)
      • I guess he'll be around forever, can't say i'm complaining though. I love Sylar. :D Bloodbath 01:21, 3 February 2009 (EST)
I loved it, and preferred it to any episode from Volume Three, which gives me hope for the rest of this volume. I'm slightly disappointed that Sylar's still alive, and Claire climbing into the plane's undercarriage as it was taxiing was a bit bizarre, but on the whole I liked the clearer plot and single focus, rather than trying to tell dozens of stories from the outset. --BADavid 13:45, 3 February 2009 (EST)
        • That came out wrong. xD It's not bugging me he's still alive, it's moreso the fact that they didn't reveal to us how he survived. I would like to find that out, actually... Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 17:34, 3 February 2009 (EST)

I'm happy so see Sylar, even better no explanation is given how was he ressurected XD still i'm gonna miss volume 3 man one the best volumes featuring villains all day around, but this one is going to be great its gonna sound like lost --Manwithnoname 13:57, 3 February 2009 (EST)

  • Was anybody else annoyed that Peter was struggling to stay in the plane when he just got super strength back and can FLY? Shouldn't he have been outside saving the plane from crashing? Oh well, still loved it and I'm glad heroes is back (flaws and all) haha (forgot to sign)--Jas3point14 15:22, 3 February 2009 (EST)
Super strength doesn't make you immune to the effects of suction; Peter was hanging on, the problem was that what he was hanging on to was peeling away from the wall of the aircraft (if my memory serves, anyway...). Peter was most likely in shock and too concerned about not being sucked out to try and save the plane using his powers (considering that Peter was the one who caused the plane to crash in the first place, maybe he thought it best to not use his powers, in case they caused more damage...). --BADavid 15:29, 3 February 2009 (EST)
I believe Peter can only hold on to one ability at a time. After he gained the freezing ability from Tracy, he didn't have the strength to fight anymore. I believe he was worried about being sucked out of the plane because he can't fly anymore. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:00, 3 February 2009 (EST)
I saw the scene differently, unless Peter knows who Tracy is exactly, I was under the impression he thought it was Niki, since Niki and Tracy do look alike, and Peter should know Niki had super strength. I think he was under that assumption he was going to use super strength but didn't. As for why he didn't fly, It was probably a reaction. Or to make the scene more dramatic. --Dman dustin 23:39, 3 February 2009 (EST)
I also was under the impression that Peter thought Tracy was Niki. I mean, Nathan never introduced Peter to Tracy (that we know of), and the last time Peter saw someone who looked like that, it was Niki. He took her ability thinking he'd get the super strength, being that the very next thing he did was punch the guard. I don't think that Peter's power has changed at all - possibly the reason he touched Mohinder and Tracy to get their powers is because he was so weak from whatever they were pumping into the Heroes' noses, he needed the contact in order to absorb. Does that make sense at all? :) --Jessica13 20:43, 4 February 2009 (EST)
Admin received confirmation that this is a new ability. See here for a further discussion. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:54, 4 February 2009 (EST)

Anyone else laugh when...

Claire said "I hate you" and Nathan said something like "I know, I know" like what a parent always does when their kid says something like that? Bloodbath 06:13, 3 February 2009 (EST)

  • My wife and I chuckled. Our son says things like that sometimes ("I'm so angry!" "I don't like going to bed!" "Chicken tastes like poop!") and we respond the same way: "I know, I know..." :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:57, 3 February 2009 (EST)

Evolved human from Memphis

  • What dyou think his ability is?, Claire said his house was filled with salt water. What does salt water prevent something from doing?--NiveKJ13 (talk2me) 06:23, 3 February 2009 (EST)
    • I know that salt water can be used to sterilize, but I really don't see that being the case here. Maybe another character with electric manipulation? Actually makes sense, salt water conducts electricity better than normal water, useful for stopping someone like this. Salt water also lowers the freezing point of water. Whether that would negate an ability is beyond me, I'm too tired.--Steelymcbeam 07:18, 3 February 2009 (EST)

Lead image

  • The lead image is kinda weird in some sort. Nothing against it, but wouldn't the 'Hands' show more a bit more like a insight of the episode.

Hands - http://heroeswiki.com/images/archive/f/f0/20090203125856!A_Clear_and_Present_Danger.jpg

Standing in a line - http://heroeswiki.com/images/f/f0/A_Clear_and_Present_Danger.jpg

--NiveKJ13 (talk2me) 08:08, 3 February 2009 (EST)

    • Reverted to the original picture, the hands picture was quit dark and fuzzy, and really doesn't show the viewer what the danger is or what is going on. The original pic shows much brighter, clearer, and shows them in fullbody shackled jumpsuits, with their heads covered, their electronic monitor and under armed guard. Simple a much clearer conveyance of their 'clear and present danger' than the fuzzy hands pic. Anyone not familiar with the plane scene wouldn't readily understand what the later hands picture is, but the orginal pic quickly and simply tells the view that these people are in clear and present danger. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 02/3/2009 08:23 (EST)
      • I, too, prefer to picture of everybody shackled. It's a much more vivid and shocking image, and it ties very nicely to the title of the episode. It should be high def, though. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:59, 3 February 2009 (EST)

Two questions

1. why do peter have to touch people now to get the abilities? 2. why did hiro choose the easiest password in the world, couldn't he at least put in a "ando1" or something? /Larvig 08:19, 3 February 2009 (EST)

  • RE: #2, my take on it was that Hiro expected Ando to try and guess the password, and specifically gave the hint to make up for the way he treated Ando in Volume 3. --Kojubat 09:39, 3 February 2009 (EST)
  • RE: #1, Maybe the ability he got from the serum was slightly different from his previous one? Also, is it just me or can he only take one power at a time right now? He seemed to lose Mohinder's strength when he got the freeze-power. Epiceuropean 11:21, 3 February 2009 (EST)

I too was very confused about the touching and wierd electric thing, Peter did. I'm opretty sure he still has Mohinder's power though, otherwise he'd have never been able to hold on. --Gianni23 11:38, 3 February 2009 (EST)

Honestly, I felt that having Peter physically touch Mohinder and Tracy before absorbing their abilities was a thematic choice to clearly show that he's taking their powers, therefore avoiding the guesswork that we've experienced in the past where we've been left to wonder what abilities he does and doesn't have after being exposed to loads of abilities (such as in Kirby Plaza). Whether this is explained in the story or is just a retcon, I think it's a change for the better, if it keeps it clearer... I agree that Hiro's password was obvious though, I guessed it immediately. I can only assume that maybe because Ando has a low opinion of himself and his importance sometimes, Hiro figured that Ando would never think to guess himself...? Either that, or Hiro knew that Ando would need to access the computer if anything should happen, so he chose a deliberately simple password. --BADavid 13:42, 3 February 2009 (EST)
    • I think Peter's ability is the pretty much the same. Touching people might just be a more direct way of getting people's power without having to actually be exposed to it (easier way to learn a new power while still on drugs?). Before he usually had to see them do it.
      • Peter's ability seems to be entirely new (though somewhat "related" to his old ability, if that's possible). He still absorbs powers from others, but it seems he can only hold on to one power at a time. He lost Mohinder's strength when he took Tracy's freezing. He was genuinely concerned about being sucked out of the airplane, showing that he probably can't fly anymore. Also, before he would take powers just by being near people--no physical contact was ever necessary. Now he was in a plane full of people with abilities, and he's only shown he can use one at a time. Seems like a different power than the empathic mimicry he had before. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:04, 3 February 2009 (EST)

Wonder why Ando didn't guess Charlie? She was pretty important to Hiro. --Yamawhata? 16:26, 3 February 2009 (EST)

I was thinking That Lol,I liked Charlie-Loved the Book :P,I heard that in volume 3 we would Be seeing un-used clips of her and Hiro...Any one know if this will Be in this volume?--Drwho113

Usutu's Staff

Any one else notice that when Usutu was talking to Matt, he kept swapping how he held his staff? One angle/sec over the sholder, then in his hands etc. Dont know if it was ment to be like that or just a hell to edit but felt like I'd make a note of it :)--Drwho113

LOL, I did! I was concentrating on the 9 shape of his staff to connect it to the 9 theory. Then it kept changing in each camera shots, first he's holding it standing then on his neck then standing again lol.--NiveKJ13 (talk2me) 15:40, 3 February 2009 (EST)

Diddent notice the 9 thing, need to Check lol :)--Drwho113

  • If you watch the commentary for this episode, you'll find out that they did that on purpose. They were going for the dream-like state by switching Matt and Usutu from camera left and right and also by having Usutu's staff in different possitions, signaling to the audience that Usutu isn't really there.--Mistyjo 12:06, 4 February 2009 (EST)

Great episode!!

I don't remember any episode so great like this, since I saw Sylar vs Daphne, Knox and Claire...

I hate Peter's ability...

  • I love it. I think it's a good direction for the show. If Peter can only hold on to one ability at a time, it means he can never get as powerful as he was before. It grounds the character. However, it still has a very important link to the essence of Peter's character: he can still absorb the powers of others. I think this is a really good step in the right direction. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:06, 3 February 2009 (EST)
    • Keeping Peter on a leash is a good thing, but I'm worried that it'll make him too much of a sitting duck if he ever comes in contact with Sylar again. Unless they put Sylar on a leash as well. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 17:23, 3 February 2009 (EST)
      • That was my thought too. With Peter depowered and Arthur dead, Sylar is now the most powerful character in the Heroes universe. --Cro Magnon 17:50, 3 February 2009 (EST)

Malden

Are sure it's Malden Tracy was talking to when she was taken? Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 14:09, 3 February 2009 (EST)

  • She said "Governer" though, and the only governor we know in Heroes universe is Malden. --NiveKJ13 (talk2me) 15:41, 3 February 2009 (EST)
    • I'm asking this cause in one of the scans from ODI's blog, I remember reading something about her being with Governor something, and though I'm not 100% sure, I don't think it was Malden. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 15:45, 3 February 2009 (EST)
I assumed she must have been talking about Malden, not only because he's the only Governer we know in Heroes but because they shared several scenes together at the start of Volume Three... I think it's a fair assumption to make that it's the same character, unless there's firm evidence to the contrary. --BADavid 15:49, 3 February 2009 (EST)
I think it's a good assumption to make, but I don't think we should put assumptions like that on the wiki. Almost two months have passed--relationships have changed, alliances have shifted, and situations are very different than the were in the last volume. Tim Kring also has a knack for purposely not telling us what's going on at the beginning of a time jump. Assuming that Tracy was speaking to Governor Malden is a good assumption, but it's still an assumption. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:10, 3 February 2009 (EST)

No more hugs!

You think that Peter will stop giving hugs (at least to his family members) after this? Bloodbath 20:17, 3 February 2009 (EST)

  • I was thinking that too, after Arthur, you'd think Peter would be smarter than to hug his relatives. I hope some bad **** happens to him so he become badass like either of his future selfs, the same way is too much to ask, but at least some of it. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 20:49, 3 February 2009 (EST)

North Africa

I'm somewhat confused. Why does Hiro's GPS tracker show that he's in North Africa (as confirmed by the summary)? I can see why the prisoners would be flown to North Africa, but Hiro is one of the prisoners... and he's already in North Africa. If the hangar is in North Africa, then why are they flying the prisoners somewhere else? And why is the driver taking Claire away? If they were going to fly her back to the states, wouldn't it make sense to keep her at the airfield and put her on a different plane? -- Signyour Poste

On the other hand, if the Ando scene is supposed to be set in the future sometime after the plane crashes, that not only seems to be bad editing, but how'd the plane get from the U.S. to North Africa to crash in the short period we see. Something seems to be missing here... --Gadfly 09:57, 6 February 2009 (EST)

  • Good point. My best guess is that they rounded them up/were holding them in Africa since it'd be easier to pull off an operation like this in a country like Africa, and then were going to fly them all to a more secure holding position like Guantanamo/etc after they were all together.--NovaX81 13:18, 6 February 2009 (EST)
    • That really doesn't seem to make sense. :) The only operation they have to pull off is holding people imprisoned, before they move them to... a prison. Plus could they really have flown Hiro from Tokyo to Africa in what seems to be the relatively short period between when he's captured, and Ando drives back and goes through a half-dozen passwords? --Gadfly 13:56, 9 February 2009 (EST)
      • I doubt anyone's denying there's a bit of a time lapse in all this; maybe it was supposed to be implied that Ando was fairly far away? I don't know. I was just giving my best attempt to make something up that works :P--NovaX81 17:34, 9 February 2009 (EST)

Last Scene

I just watched the episode online (U.K viewer, all that jazz) and don't you think that the last scene is espcially powerful? Mainly the bit when one of the evolved humans still wearing their mask flies out of the plane. I also thought that the musicians did an amazing, and I mean amazing, job with the music in that episode (but espcially that of last scene). --IronyUTC CH 13:51, 6 February 2009 (EST)

  • Incidentally, what site did you watch it on? Every one I can find tells me I have to be in the US for no good reason. --Yamawhata? 20:38, 6 February 2009 (EST)
    • Go to: Surf the channel.com then click channels, then T.V, click 'H' find Heroes and then it explains itself. Hope I helped :) --IronyUTC CH 05:48, 7 February 2009 (EST)
  • Yes, Irony, I agree. That last scene was very powerful and quite moving. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:37, 7 February 2009 (EST)
    • Agreed. And I have a question. Is it possible that they have put the end to look like the ending of the 'pilot' episode so we could figure out that Nathan is not there to save Peter anymore (like he did in 'Genesis') and that Peter has some kind of a new family - his friends. Does that make any sense?--Alen76 11:16, 7 February 2009 (EST)
      • That's exactly what I thought. Not so much about "new family", but just that the last scene of two hands grasping for each other was a close mirror of the last scene from Genesis. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:21, 7 February 2009 (EST)
    • Didn't pick up on that but, it actually really does look like that. Also, just a thought but is this the episode with the least power use, since around episode 1.03? Thanks --IronyUTC CH 13:19, 7 February 2009 (EST)
      • My wife and I noticed the same thing. I think Tim Kring said something on the episode commentary about a few times when they talked about having people using their abilities, but it detracted from the scenes. I'm glad. We all know the abilities are there, but this is not a show about abilities. It's a show about characters. When the focus is on the characters, the show soars. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:52, 7 February 2009 (EST)
      • I would have liked a new character, (then we could have got the whole story development like Series 1) but that's just me. --IronyUTC CH 14:59, 7 February 2009 (EST)
        • I wouldn't have minded a new character, but I'm glad there wasn't. Volume three got a lot of criticism (undue or not) for introducing new characters and then not doing anything with them, or for introducing characters that weren't needed, or for simply making everything confusing. I'd be fine with a new character or two, but for the sake of avoiding critics' drubbings, I'm glad there wasn't a newbie added. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:08, 7 February 2009 (EST)
    • I didn't noticed that the abilities were used less than usually. The powers were used as much as they should be used. But yeah, this show is about the characters, not about abilities. Anyways, I just can't stop thinking about the last episode's greatness. It was so damn great!! :) --Alen76 16:07, 7 February 2009 (EST)

Original storyline

I don't know if anyone else has purchased the Heroes Revealed book, but it includes an episode summary at the end. Interestingly enough, it seems the book went to press when scripts were still being altered for A Clear and Present Danger (and Our Father). It also has Sparrow Redhouse fulfilling exactly the same role as Sue Landers in Our Father, power as well. Is this information worth including or is it too speculative to assume it as the original plot? SylarMonroe 14:37, 14 June 2009 (EDT)

The soldior who shot Tracy?

I think that guy was Danko, you can see his eyes and they look as though they belong to Željko Ivanek, with the darker skin tone around his eyes. Anyone else think this? --mc_hammark 11:24, 2 September 2009 (EDT)
