That was by far.
BY FAR the WORST moment of Heroes. D.L. could have let that phase through him, there was plenty of time between the gun being pointed and it being fired. The production team is losing creativity. =/--Riddler 21:53, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- I totally agree. It seemed like a cheap way to get D.L. out of the current storyline - what was the guy's motive for killing him? It seemed like him and Niki/Gina had just met that evening, and is homicide really worth a missed opportunity for sex? Altogether lame, though the rest of the episode was great.--croush 22:06, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- The whole Gina thing was so random, it just seemed like they couldn't think of any possible way to kill DL so they made up a new random identity for Niki. Unrelated, weren't they going to show what happened to Sylar?--Theslate 22:15, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Yeah, I was greatly disappointed. I thought Tim said it was getting better? At least there was the awesome point of view shot of phasing through a wall.--Bob (talk) 22:17, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- I'm willing to suspend disbelief. If I had to make up a reason, I'd go with "D.L. tried to use his ability but made a mistake." I'm sure even martial arts experts get into situations where, despite their skills, someone gets the upper hand despite them having time to see what was coming. It just takes one little mistake. (Admin 22:20, 12 November 2007 (EST))
- Still, I'd too would have found it more believable for D.L. to be shot in the back than in the chest. This one + Candice's makes two deaths I'm not happy about so far this season.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:32, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- He had the gun at point-blank range and there was maybe a second to react. If you had a gun shoved into your torso and had the ability to phase through it, would you have good enough reflexes to do so? But yeah, I wanted him to go out in style. >_> --AnotherNella 23:21, 12 November 2007 (EST)

- DL did beat the guy up and freak him out with the head thing. I think he was wearing a cross too, so maybe there was religious implications, though its a huge stretch. What gained my ire was Niki's very passive reaction. --PeterDawson 01:34, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Two possible reasons for her passive reaction. 1) She was on drugs. 2) She's killed before. -- Riffsyphon1024 02:10, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- I think the scene seemed logical to me. First. The man punched D.L. earlier, and the next time he had a gun, that D.L. may not have even seen. Second, punching is a lot slower that a bullet at close range, D.L. would have to have faster reflexes than the gun, which is possible, but highly unlikely. --Dman dustin
- Of course D.L. being shot does seem to be very uncreative, how many times has he been shot? Three times? --Dman dustin
- I was also disappointed with the DL scene. Also, we got no coverage of Sylar or Matt/Mohinder/Molly. The episode seemed "rushed" to me. Like all the writers knew they were going on strike when they wrote this episode. Probably like school-work right before Christmas break...--Mish 10:13, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- I know. For a moment I thought Niki was shot--she was sliding down the wall and all. Borowki 13:12, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Disappointed too with the way DL died. It didn't bother me so much whether he'd have time to phase or not, just that it was a hell of an unheroic death after they worked so hard to make DL likable in this episode. :( Oh well, at least the rest of the episode was pretty good. And the Gina thing makes complete sense. If you assume that Niki is just a case of split personality, and the possession/spirit/Jessica-is-a-power-stuff is bull (and I always thought it was), then it makes sense that Niki manifests various personalities representing every facet of her splintered psyche. Jessica was the killer/self-preservation instinct, while Gina is her libido. Renenarciso 21:19, 13 November 2007 (EST)
Synopsis
On a whim, I've decided to type up a synopsis as I watch tonight's episode. Hope that's okay. Feel free to edit it as need be; it's kind of rushed and is also quite incomplete. Thrashmeister 22:10, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Please check for tense and add new links! 07:42, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Nice work on the synopsis. I've moved it to the main episode article so any more changes can be made there. (Admin 09:16, 13 November 2007 (EST))
- Thanks. I feel stupid though. I thought the Haitian and Peter were actually in Cork, Ireland when he got knocked into that shipping crate. xD Thrashmeister 18:58, 13 November 2007 (EST)

Only three episodes left then...
The rumors are true after all. :( Dang strike. Thrashmeister 22:12, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Wasn't it like this last season? They'll stop for winter and start again in the spring to finish the 2nd season. -- Riffsyphon1024 23:17, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Unfortunately, no. The latest news article on the main page says that the second season will be ending in December. No hiatus. No Origins. Nothing. :( Thrashmeister 23:44, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Damn the strike hit this as well. And I was thinking it would only be sitcoms and other nonsense. -- Riffsyphon1024 23:53, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Unfortunately, no. The latest news article on the main page says that the second season will be ending in December. No hiatus. No Origins. Nothing. :( Thrashmeister 23:44, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Well, it isn't 100% guaranteed. Episode 11 will end Volume 2 (that much seems to be set in stone), but it may not end the season if the strike ends in time. --PeterDawson 01:09, 13 November 2007 (EST)
Angela's power
Okay, we all have to admit, it was too obvious that she hypnotized Heidi after touching her (I couldn't think of a better way to put this...) so many times. Is that enough proof for Angela to have a known power? Because that is still technically speculation.--Ice Vision 22:19, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Well, we still haven't had it confirmed. Gotta wait. I was disappointed that Heidi didn't believe Nathan.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:42, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- What? I didn't get that at all. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:00, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Is someone suggesting that Angela possesses the power of persuasion as well? -- Riffsyphon1024 23:07, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Angela knew what was going on with Nathan and Peter and the whole bomb plot. She was just trying to keep Heidi from knowing the truth and was trying to convince Heidi that Nathan was suffering from mental problems so that she wouldn't believe his story. (Admin 23:08, 12 November 2007 (EST))
- But she was awfully touchy about it...--Tim Thomason 23:13, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Usually if there's a close-up of hands, it's been power usage. But there's also usually been a sound effect as well, excluding strength and healing. Who knows? --AnotherNella 23:24, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Greg Beeman often uses unexpected closeups to heighten the interest. Angela's hands are often shot with closeups, most notably in Run!, when shots volley between her ring and Nathan's ring. Hoping though I was, I didn't "get" that any power was being used by Angela in this episode. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:39, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Still awful strange for her to be in a group of twelve individuals where several are evolved humans and not have a power. She's rather important since appearing in the first episode of the series. -- Riffsyphon1024 23:41, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- I'm not saying she doesn't have a power--in fact I thought we might see it tonight. Alas, we did not, or at least if we did, it wasn't confirmed. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:07, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Only three episodes left to find out... -- Riffsyphon1024 00:46, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- From the sound of things it seems highly unlikely that any member of the 12 doesn't have a power. Angela has never denied having a power, and I remember and interview from last season saying something about it being a travel one somewhat similar to Hiro's teleportation. --PeterDawson 01:44, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- No he said it was a way "to get from A to B" and that another hero had a similar power but hers was faster. Never said Hiro. I think that this episode and the episode where she was touching Nathan were very obvious signs that her power is similar to persuasion (only she needs to touch people). What do we need for it to be confirmed with the exception of Angela saying "I have the power to hypnotize people with my touch."? Random guy 03:20, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Perhaps some indication that she's doing some form of superhuman manipulation and not merely being her manipulative self? She has a bad habit of telling people what to do, true, but they have a pretty lousy record of following through on it. Something more like Matt and the donuts would be required to show that she's doing something out of the ordinary, barring an actual revelation.--Hardvice (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- It doesn't necessarily prove anything, but according to the episode commentary the choice to have Angela touch Heidi was entirely Cristine Rose's, and was not scripted.--Hardvice (talk) 18:24, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- If that's the case, then I'm not so sure. I thought it was odd and suspicious that Angela was fiddling around with Heidi's shirt, touching her hair, and touching her arm. What through me off even more was Heidi's reaction to Angela's question. She seemed dead, like a zombie.--Ice Vision 23:46, 13 November 2007 (EST)

- I think its Persuasion since in Landslide, she told Nathan that letting New York blow up is the best for him, and Nathan repeated what she said and obeyed. In Out of Time, she told Peter "You have to remember" and then Peter starts remembering his life. And there's the Heidi deal now. 06:00, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Yeah, but people actually follow through on what Eden tells them. Matt eats donuts. Her stepmother drops dead. Isaac shoots heroin. Nathan didn't actually let New Yrok blow up, and Claire didn't actually go to Paris. The Out of Time scene is open to many interpretations ... from the sound and camera cues, it's more likely that Peter uses telepathy. Besides, Peter wants to remember, so it's not really persuasion, it's just encouragement.--Hardvice (talk) 18:27, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- The power of seduction, perhaps? I'm kidding. I can't wait for her power to be fully revealed / disclosed!--Rnav1234 07:42, 14 November 2007 (EST)
- I can't wait either. I just dont think it's persuasion. Something else maybe. Possibly something that could help the Haitian? Which leaves me with the question of why Adam would kill Kaito in person, but use Maury to go after Bob and Angela.--Mish 10:18, 14 November 2007 (EST)
- What? I didn't get that at all. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:00, 12 November 2007 (EST)

- See, you are lucky. I only have the "luxury" of using BitTorrent, and even if I can get to it quickly, I still have to wait a while. What exactly do you use? Do you have a DIY DVR or something? I am curious.--Japanimation14 23:31, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- TiVo HD. They recently changed the TiVo desktop software to allow transfers of HD recordings from Series 3s/HDs. It's slow, and the files are huge (~7GB), but it can make for some really good caps.--Hardvice (talk) 00:11, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- My goodness. That is pretty nice. Sadly, I use Comcast DVR and I really can't do anything with that. Hopefully that'll change.--Japanimation14 00:29, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Look around on the 'net. It might be possible. When I had a cable company DVR, it was supposedly able to use the Firewire port on the DVR and a DVHS emulator on a computer to transfer files. I never got it to work, but there are a ton of forums out there that explain how to do it.--Hardvice (talk) 00:34, 13 November 2007 (EST)

File's up. Any requests above and beyond the usual stuff?--Hardvice
- Nathan regenerating for Rapid cell regeneration, Niki splattered in blood for the sake of having it, and Niki dancing, 'cause she looked good. :D--Riddler 01:48, 13 November 2007 (EST) (talk) 01:46, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Elle and Peter's kiss, also for the sake of having it (and it would be a cool title shot for electrokinesis/electricity generation). :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:13, 13 November 2007 (EST)
As with Four Months Later...
Title shot has the periods, we have an exclamation for "Run!", we should have periods here.--Riddler 23:09, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- There were two references to "Four months ago." One was setting up the scene chronologically and the other was the episode name. If I recall it was the second one that was the episode name. Did that second one have periods? I don't remember offhand. (Admin 23:10, 12 November 2007 (EST))
- It had periods.--Bob (talk) 23:11, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Yes it did.... -- Riffsyphon1024 23:16, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- Oh, hey. If we move Four Months Later to Four Months Later..., can we use your bot to update all the links to it?--Hardvice (talk) 00:35, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Currently it can really only effectively handle changes where I can give it a specific category to work on. My only options right now are to find pages by category or to repeatedly return a random page and process that. The module is very nice, but there's a lot of room for improvement so I may just end up adding more functionality to the module myself to handle more common tasks... like watching the Recent Changes and being able to perform tasks over those. So... not yet... but eventually. (Admin 00:52, 13 November 2007 (EST))
- I'm mostly concerned about the mispunctuation in section headings. Could it change any link from Four Months Later to Four Months Later... for pages that are in, say, Category:Characters? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:58, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Easily. :) (Admin 01:00, 13 November 2007 (EST))
- That would probably knock out most of it. We can update portals and nav stuff easily enough by hand.--Hardvice (talk) 01:06, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- All done. (Admin 01:09, 13 November 2007 (EST))

- What do you mean? (Admin 01:44, 13 November 2007 (EST))
- Four Months Later has exactly the same concern as Four Months Ago. We initially wrote it without the ellipses, and then changed it, but we haven't updated most of the links. If you could run the bot for Four Months Later character histories, too, we'd be well on our way.--Hardvice (talk) 01:48, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Oh, ok, no problem. It'll be done momentarily. (Admin 01:50, 13 November 2007 (EST))

No Sylar Explanation?!?!?!
- They told us Candice dragged him away, but how the hell did he survive a stab through the chest? All I can think of is they forced some blood from Adam to keep him alive, but that's still a stretch. Also, I love Elle. =D --AnotherNella 23:21, 12 November 2007 (EST)
- In their Season 2 debut Michelle AKA Candice explained that he was barely alive and it took 11 surgeries or something to keep him from dying. Even then it appears as if he's been in a coma or something for most of the time. In the words of Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail, "He's not quite dead." --PeterDawson 01:12, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- It's just a flesh wound, then. =P --AnotherNella 06:09, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Thing is in the promo video for this episode they said something like "you've got questions, now it's time for answers" and one of them was "Where did Sylar go?" and they didn't even refer to it. The directors just showed a random scene with Gabriel and the two Herreras, very disappointing. BloodyFox 00:03, 14 Nov 2007 (CEST)
- The writers don't make the promos though ... So don't blame them for their contents. That question shouldn't have been listed in the preview (nor should have How did Peter survive ? since HE CAN HEAL !) as it was already anwsered back in 2x03 ... Candice dragged him off Kirby Plaza, probably being ordered to do so by the Company. She then got herself killed. The end. I don't think there's anything more to say about that ... Sure, it would have been nice to see Missy again, but there's no plothole there IMO ... just lazy promo-monkeys. --LeoChris 18:21, 13 November 2007 (EST)

Gina a character?
so are we considering Gina a character?Random guy 03:25, 13 November 2007 (EST)

Peter & The Haitian
Many people were speculating about Peter being able to absorb the Haitian's powers in order to negate them. This episode possibly confirms that The Haitian can in fact block Peter's powers.
Laika 04:56, 13 November 2007 (EST)
Other important points:
- Elle is romantically interested in Peter
- Adam tells Peter he's over 400 years old, meaning he could really be Takezo Kensei.
- Niki has more than two personalities.
- So did Peter absorb the Haitians ability or does his ability get nullified before he can absorb it? --Mish 10:09, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- There was nothing new introduced in this episode regarding Peter's ability and how it is effected by the Haitians. This is not the first time they have met, they also met in (Unexpected) on the Deveaux Rooftop. We simply haven't been given enough info to know if Peter can absorb the Haitian's ability...we only know he has been exposed to it; at least twice in close proximity. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 11/13/2007 10:15 (EST)
- Was there any doubt that Adam and Kensei are the same person? I thought that was already confirmed. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:26, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- The Adam/Kensei connection was confirmed in interviews and in the fact that they were deliberately played by the same actor with a "big reveal" scene. I guess, technically, Adam hasn't admitted to being Takezo Kensei, and provided the documents proving this, so it can't be confirmed ultra-super-conclusively.
- The thing I'm interested in is regarding Hiro. Don't you think in the four months they spent talking to one another (with two months back-and-forth dialogue), that the issue of Hiro Nakamura would've come up? If not from Adam (who would likely keep that aspect of his long, long life secret) then from Peter (the Hiro thing was a big part of how he became a *Hero!*, what with the Cheerleader saving motto and all). Peter did divulge enough info to mention to Adam that he had phasing ability (something that kinda, sorta doesn't make sense to me).--Tim Thomason 22:43, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Adam probably already knows or at least suspects that Hiro and Peter are connected, if for no other reason than that he knows that their parents are connected. Peter may well have mentioned him (it appears he at least told Adam about all his abilities), but I'm guessing Adam just played dumb.--Hardvice (talk) 00:10, 15 November 2007 (EST)
Maya & Alejandro
- So last night, we learned that Maya fled to a monastery in Venezuela and Alejandro tracked her there. When things got bad there cause Alejandro brought the cop, they were both forced to begin running again. I hope they show us why they went to southern Colombia...--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:52, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- I'm thinking before they found the book they were just running. When the book was found they decided to run North. --PeterDawson 12:04, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- But they could have run to another city, why the jungle, why Colombia? I'm thinking they were searching for a witch doctor, but that's something I'd like to see, not just assume.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:10, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- I just looked at a map. I guess they decided to focus more on going west than north initially on their journey. Few people can actually go from point A to point B in a straight line, after all, and they are fugitives. --PeterDawson 15:10, 14 November 2007 (EST)

Another mistake Bob made
Bob let Niki leave the building after having been injected with the mutated virus? Is he trying to spread the virus on purpose? I mean, it sure seems that way, though last night I was thinking it was sheer stupidity. I hope Monica really is O.K.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:21, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- I swear, if the writers have Niki going to get Micah in New Orleans, and the virus spreads there, I'm gonna be pissed.--Bob (talk) 13:57, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- I'll join in the angryness with Bob. She is quickly becoming one of my favorite heroes. And the chance that she may actually go old-school and do some rooftop-to-rooftop patrolling is even better. --Mish 23:32, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- I don't think it will happen, but I would just hate to see New Orleans, fresh off the destruction of Katrina, ravaged by the virus. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:29, 14 November 2007 (EST)
- Well, they did just about blow-up NYC only a couple of years after 9/11. --Mish 10:06, 14 November 2007 (EST)
Character Page Scrubdowns
- I just did Peter's page; I'll work on Elle's in a bit because she's awesome. =P --AnotherNella 23:28, 13 November 2007 (EST)
Cocaine
- If, as the article says, Gina was taking cocaine, should we not have an article for it?-- Lost Soul talk contribs 04:10, 14 November 2007 (EST)
- If the article says that, it shouldn't. Could be cocaine. Could be any other snortable drug.--Hardvice (talk) 04:13, 14 November 2007 (EST)
- From the way Niki/Gina acted when DL got shot it could have been Ketamine, it's usually snorted. If it were coke she would have been a bit more edgy or hyper. As it was, she looked almost sedated. --Mish 10:00, 14 November 2007 (EST)

The Hospitals
- Did Nathan and D.L. stay in the same hospital? --Shoreline83 19:01, 14 November 2007 (EST)
- D.L. was in Roosevelt Hospital. They never said which hospital Nathan's hospital room is in. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:40, 14 November 2007 (EST)
Haitians First Memory Rub on Camera?
Really? I'm having a hard time recalling, but Ivan, Noahs mentor and Sandra Bennett? Didn't we actually see him touching their heads?--Mish(Talk) 22:29, 14 November 2007 (EST)
- We have, on both accounts, but only for about a second then the camera cuts. This is the first time we've seen the whole process.--Riddler 22:31, 14 November 2007 (EST)
- We've seen him holding his hand on Sandra's and Noah's forheads in Company Man, and the process was shown as much on screen as it was in Four Months Ago.... I would feel much more comfortable with the note removed. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:43, 14 November 2007 (EST)
- The camera cuts if I'm not mistaken... in this most recent epiosde, we actually see him remove his hand and the immediate reaction of the memory loss...--Riddler 23:37, 14 November 2007 (EST)
