Please don't update ANYTHING here from the Canadian Airing.
It acts as spoilers for us in America. =[--Riddler 20:13, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- Sorry, I thought (casting) spoilers were allowed on this page, as characters are often listed before-hand, as per press releases ... I undid my revision. Sorry. --LeoChris 20:17, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- I don't know the exact rule, but Canadian airings usually were noted with a big bar at the top of the page, I didn't know you guys were getting the episode early.--Riddler 20:18, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- Yes, the episode aired early because of a 2h Prison Break special ... I think it was just a one-time thing though. I remember the black bar at the top but I thought that only applied to actual articles, not talk pages ? Could someone please confirm/deny ? --LeoChris 20:23, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- No rule. General guideline is to avoid filling the site with spoilers. However, I think since we're less than an hour away, it's not that big a deal. Also, since it's really just characters and casting, it's okay. And talk pages really are much looser than mainspace pages. But that's just my opinion....I didn't know Canada was getting the episode early, either--when did it air for you guys? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:24, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- It aired at 7 ;) I'll proceed to the undoing of the undoing of the checklist, as it could be useful. (Wow, weird sentence) --LeoChris 20:28, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- Right before the episode I can on here really fast to remember what Adam Monroe's message to peter was, only to find out that the article linked to Kensei's. I pretended to be shocked along with everyone else when watching it. Thanks for the spoiler. --Piemanmoo 02:04, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Incidents with spoilers are going to happen if you visit here after it's aired here and not somewhere else. While it is partly their fault, it is also your fault. -Sec 05:00, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- I think he was saying that before it aired in America, he tried to visit the site, only to find something "unaired" in America. So no, I wouldn't say it's Piemanmoo's fault so much as it is "eager beavers" updating pages before the majority of viewers get to see it. Personally, I don't like it, and I'm trying to recall what happened when Canada aired it previously. I thought we had a policy of treating it like a spoiler since the majority of viewers are in the US, but I don't recall. --Bob (talk) 05:15, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Up until the end of the episode in the US, Adam from the checklist linked to Adam Monroe, not Kensei. I don't know when the redirect was put in place (in the article) though ... --LeoChris 18:07, 6 November 2007 (EST)

Summary
Can't do the summary again, but will help flesh out later tonight. I need to catch up on some reading.--Bob (talk) 20:42, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- Unfortunately I won't even be able to attempt to help. My brother has control of the remote again and his new obsession is A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila, on top of the second hour of Prison Break. --Riddler 20:43, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- I'm not understanding the two-hour Prison Break. It's like, "You won't watch our show this season for one hour a week, so we'll give you two hours instead." Hmm. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:45, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- We've lost two episodes thanks to baseball, so they're making up for it tonight and being extra dramatic, and I'm watching the first hour and it is kinda intense.--Riddler 20:47, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- My computer's agonizingly slow right now, so I'm going to study/read, rewatch the episode, and hopefully the edits will calm down some. I won't be able to do it for now since there's so many edits needed to be cleaned up. So I'll be back later.--Bob (talk) 22:53, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- Is someone taking charge of the Summery? If not, I could give it a shot. I'd imagine it would need drastic cleaning when I'm done, though. Lulu 19:49, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Go for it. :) (Admin 20:50, 6 November 2007 (EST))
- All done, go go operation clean up! Lulu 22:51, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Hmmm...so how about that summary/synopsis? pjw2000 23:07, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- It's there, but it's commented out for some reason. I'll go fix it now. --RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:14, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- I removed the noinclude, but Heroe! (tried to) restore it, so I figured I had done something wrong.

- Nicely done, Lulu! (Admin 23:41, 6 November 2007 (EST))
- Thanks, I realize it's rather sloppy, I'll probably give it a fixer up tomorrow. Now if only I could apply such work-ethic to real life. :] Lulu 23:44, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- I didn't think it was sloppy. It's a lot of work to write them up, I know from experience. It's very appreciated. (Admin 23:48, 6 November 2007 (EST))
- Well, it's no problem. Glad to help :] Lulu 23:50, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Yes, excellent job on the summary. (I don't touch the things because they're so daunting.) ... Your contributions to the site have been outstanding. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:35, 7 November 2007 (EST)

Ivan's last name
Anyone catch that? Remember to move Ivan and Katarina.--Bob (talk) 23:47, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- Spector. But Katarina should probably stay just "Katarina". We can't assume they have the same last name (see the Sanders-Hawkinses).--Hardvice (talk) 01:27, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Very true. Thanks.--Bob (talk) 01:30, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- I think the transliteration from Cyrillic would be more along the lines of Spektor. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:30, 6 November 2007 (EST)
Screencaps
- HD file is ready to go. Two hours to transfer and nearly an hour to de-DRM. Sheesh. Anyway, note any caps you want above in the checklist. I'll grab the standard stuff.--Hardvice (talk) 01:33, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- These are generally in order of appearance...
- Opium (there's a good shot I think as Yaeko is pulling it away from Hiro's nose)
- The green ring around the eclipse at the opening title card
- West's text about waffles, of course
- The article that West and Claire read is in a newspaper called the Something Something Telegraph--any chance you can figure out what it is?
- Annoyingly, the text in the paper itself is just cut-and-paste garbage and has nothing to do with the headline--and it's totally readable in HD. Oh lazy props people...--Hardvice (talk) 01:49, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- The title is the "Costa Verde Telegraph". There's not a great shot of the cover ... motion blur.--Hardvice (talk) 03:06, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Molly's brain waves
- A better image of Whitebeard's camp??
- A better lead image for the Shanti virus (like the vials of the virus)
- Should we write an article about Matt's childhood home (on Parthenia)?
- We need a gallery for the Shanti virus--I'm thinking at least an image of the transfusion
- Yatta!
- All the series of eight paintings and realizations
- How big do we want the paintings? Traditionally, we'd go for full size, but "full size" is now 1920x1080 and around 316k.--Hardvice (talk) 02:08, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- I dunno, no more than 1000 width? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:12, 6 November 2007 (EST)

- I'd also be interested to read the "Snow Falls on Miami" article (last time snow fell in Miami was 1977?? Wowza!)
- That one has real text at least.--Hardvice (talk) 03:06, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- And interesting that the snowfall was apparently sometime after 2003, if I'm reading it correctly. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:32, 6 November 2007 (EST)

- Thanks for doing all the images--I know how much of a pain they can be. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:46, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- If there's a good clean shot of the file Bob has on Ivan's death that might be helpful. I was hoping to make out some of the text if it's relevent. (Admin 01:54, 6 November 2007 (EST))
- Ivan's file ... well, it's a police report. In English. Featuring folks called Officer Thompson and James Smith and Lieutenant Hernandez. It appears to be about a violation of a protective order in a domestic violence case. More filler, I'm afraid. Now, Claire's file is another story. It's the actual incident report for Debbie's attack -- which means the Company already knows where the "Butlers" are.--Hardvice (talk) 11:30, 7 November 2007 (EST)
- Will do. Any ideas for a lead image? I was thinking of Peter and Caitlin since they're the most literally "Out of Time", and it's not too spoilery since they teleported last week.--Hardvice (talk) 01:57, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- That works for me. I know my wife would really appreciate the naked shot of Peter, but I will have to intervene on that one. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:03, 6 November 2007 (EST)

- It would be awesome if we can get a screencap of Adam at the end of the episode, to update his bio with his modern look. --Rebby 07:06, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Yeah, I only made it about 3/4s of the way through before I passed out. Will grab the rest shortly.
Age when Maury left Matt
Anyone catch the age? I can't seem to find it documented here and I'm not positive what they said it was during the show.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:00, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Didn't the Heroes Interactive say 12? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:01, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- 12 was what I guessed. In reviewing my screenshot, I noticed it didn't say whether I was correct or not so I undid the bolded answer. Can someone check?--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:04, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Oh, that's what I was going off of. The answer is in another episode. I'll check. If I find it, I'll post it. Otherwise, I'm going to bed. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:05, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- It was 13. He told Nathan in The Kindness of Strangers. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:08, 6 November 2007 (EST)

WTF?
- Why is none of the standard page formatting on this article?--Hardvice (talk) 02:44, 6 November 2007 (EST)
Weather Control?
Did they suggest someone has the power to control the weather? -Lөvөl 04:43, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Bob said that the snowfall over Miami could of easily been a tsunami. Since he was referring to Adam, this could mean that he could be the first person to have multiple powers without absorbing or stealing them. (Unless he did absorb or steal it, which would be unlikely) -Seclusion 04:55, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Actually, he was talking about how Adam brought them together, which would give me the impression that someone in that group has an ability that could prevent a tsunami, or make rain turn to snow.--Bob (talk) 05:10, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- I'm pretty sure Bob was explaining to Nathan what influence Adam can have on people. He said the snow was for Nathan, meaning that Arthur probably has atmokinesis and that he was strong enough to not follow Adam. That links back to when Linderman, Adam's disciple, said Nathan's father was weak. It's just a big theory, but who knows? --AnotherNella 12:20, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Interesting. But seriously, let's nip this in the bud. If somebody has a power to control weather, please let's not call it "atmokinesis"!--E rowe 15:50, 7 November 2007 (EST)

Telepathy by Peter?
So, I know Hardvice uploaded the pics of Peter's memory sequence labeled as telepathy. I agree, it's the sound effect of telepathy, but what I don't understand is how the memories are showing Angela's face. She wouldn't have been able to have those memories because they're from someone else's perspective. I think maybe Peter only heard Angela think "remember", and he somehow recalled those memories.--Bob (talk) 05:12, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- Well we never did have a sound effect for Charlie's power, as it was barely showcased, but it's possible that it was enhanced memory that peter supposedly absorbed by sylar. Dman dustin
- In this time's CBR 'Behind the Eclipse', the writers reveal that Maury, Matt and Candice have the same core power. In the previous episode, this was described Bob as 'anything the mind controls, you control'. So why can't Eidetic memory also be another aspect of the power. Which would explain the sound effect. Or is this all just too far-fetched? :) --Havoc 07:42, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- If this is the case, then would The Haitian's power be involved with this, or does he have a different thing, Mental Inhibition maybe? -- 17:32 7 November 2007 (EST)
- How's about someone send in a question about that since there seems to be confusion? --PeterDawson 11:49, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- I think Angela's face being shown is more artistic licence than anything. It's a good way of showing what in particular Peter is remembering (or being reminded of). His psychotic mother and her weird outfits. But I don't think he's reading her mind. I think it's Angela's perspective power. She's doing to him what she (possibly) did to Nathan last season, in that she's flooding his head with imagery. Sort of a pseudo-mental manipulation, but that's just one possibility.--Aldrius 20:09, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- It appears that Peter does use telepathy
CDC/Homeland Security
- An odd distinction: all of the disease-control guys have CDC badges, including Howard Lemay, who works for DHS. Per teh GN, he's a DHS agent working with CDC. So the facility and the teams are, presumably, CDC, not DHS.--Hardvice (talk) 05:29, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- So would the name of the building where Peter is reacquainted with Mom be "CDC building"? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:56, 6 November 2007 (EST)
Kensei/Adam Quote
"As long as I have breath any new love I will lay to waste, I swear, you will suffer."
I'm pretty sure it was "anything you love." -Clay 10:13, 6 November 2007 (EST)
- That's exactly what I heard, too. I went ahead and corrected the quote. (Admin 10:36, 6 November 2007 (EST))
Japanese
Was the title and "last time on Heroes" in Japanese for anyone else?
- Yes. They did that once last season when Hiro read it.--Hardvice (talk) 14:21, 6 November 2007 (EST)
Trivia
"This episode was the first episode to be set in the past, present and future."
- Technically, wouldn't that be The Line? It contained scenes in the past, present, and future.--Hardvice (talk) 14:24, 6 November 2007 (EST)
Future Characters?
Technically, Future Nathan was mentioned ("killed in the first outbreak"). The page we have on him now redirects to Future Sylar (understandably). Should we have a page on the referenced character, covering both of his bleak futures? Should we have future pages on all main characters mentioned in the future (we have minor pages for less)?--Tim Thomason 08:14, 7 November 2007 (EST)
- I think we should.-- Lost Soul talk contribs 15:08, 7 November 2007 (EST)
- I don't think we should. Nathan didn't survive either future scenario. We don't have an article for Future Candice, Future D.L., or Future Molly, all of whom were referenced in Five Years Gone. If F_Angela gave an extensive history on how Nathan died or something, then it might be a bit of an easier sell. But as it stands, I wouldn't write an article for a him just because it's mentioned that he died any more than I would write an article for the deoxygenation boy mentioned in FYG. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:52, 7 November 2007 (EST)
The Parkman Home?
- Should we have a page for the home in which Maury, Molly and Matt were trapped in in the nightmare? After all, it was the Parkman household... but what would we call it?-- Lost Soul talk contribs 15:08, 7 November 2007 (EST)
- I think it's a good idea. We have an image on it, we know who lived there, and we know what street it's on. We also know when Maury left--if Matt is 38 in 2007, he was presumably born in 1969. Maury left when Matt was 13, so he abandoned the family in 1982. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:54, 7 November 2007 (EST)
- If so, what do we call the article?-- Lost Soul talk contribs 01:54, 8 November 2007 (EST)

- To be fair, the scenes in feudal Japan were well acted. The sets were beautiful. Only a little bit of the dialogue was cringe-worthy. But it just feels like the whole thing failed to deliver on what was promised from all the Kensei set-up. Everything from the legends seemed to happen off-screen, and that was, for anyone who followed any of the Evolutions stuff, supposed to be the pay-off. There was an awful lot of "boy, beating those ninety angry ronin like I just did off-screen sure was tough" and "gee, these trials to get this scroll that you didn't see sure were challenging". I understand that a lot of it would have been impossible to show on a budget and with limited time, but after about the third time the same tactic was used, it started to feel like a Roger Corman movie.--Hardvice (talk) 08:10, 8 November 2007 (EST)
- I really felt they were resting on their laurels with the Hiro story. "Hiro's a fan fave, so all we have to do is show him onscreen, and the fans will go nuts." "They're gonna love this because we're pulling a great stunt: Kensei is white!" "It doesn't have to be perfect because they will be so distracted by that beautiful girl..." -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:36, 8 November 2007 (EST)

- Personally, I'd like to see more of Peter again, though. -- eXplicit (talk/contribs) 29 March 2024 - 07:55 EDT
- I would. But I also think that this season has not at all lived up to last season. It's starting to though. Fortunately, the feudal Japan storyline is over *knocks on wooden desk*.--E rowe 17:58, 7 November 2007 (EST)
- Yes, best ep so far! But I demand more Kristen Bell!! :) --Looky 20:23, 7 November 2007 (EST)
- I agree it was the best episode but this series is suffering from Lost-itis. Too many new characters out of the blue. I swear soon Paulo and Nikki are going to show up soon.
- You might get your wish Looky, as she has said that she is in more than 1/2 of 8 and 9. Also if you check out Kring's discussion page I have added a bit on Kring acknowledging that this season has problems. -Sec 00:52, 8 November 2007 (EST)
- I agree! Best episode so far! All the new character exposition and groundwork is in place, and it's starting to have that 'epic' feel. Now we can get down to what Heroes do best - save the world! --DismantleRepair 01:00, 8 November 2007 (EST)
