*****OK, when doing an main-image for a show, shouldn't it be the most exciting, climactic, and/or important scene of the episode? (aka the most memorable)? Seeing Linderman is important. Seeing Hiro get 'the sword' is important. I would argue that both of those are more 'important' and/or fitting for the main-image than Sylar being tortured by Mohinder.....but neither of those three are the most exciting, the most climactic, or the most important and memorable. ******Regardless, the episode image needs to be not too spoilery, at least while it's on the Main Page as the Article of the Week. In fact, we tend to avoid the "most important" image for just that reason, and instead opt for an image that represents the title without giving too much away. The idea is to let visitors to the site decide which information they'd like to see, rather than hitting them over the head with images from an episode they may not have seen right on the front page.--Hardvice (talk) 17:55, 9 March 2007 (EST) | ******Regardless, the episode image needs to be not too spoilery, at least while it's on the Main Page as the Article of the Week. *******OK....So when we get to a more un-spoilery time (after a new article of the week is posted), can we update the main pic with one of the two more-emphatic ones? What do you think about that? It's hard to follow in the shadows of last-weeks main-pic with Peter TKing Claudes staff in mid-flight....that was pretty spoilery too, to folks who hadn't yet seen that episode, but it was way-cool, and I'm glad it was used. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 03/9/2007 18:17 (EST)
********There's a huge difference. The TK picture at worst spoiled a scene. Sylar holding up Mohinder and Peter spoils their whole story thread for the entire episode. But yes, once it's off AOTW, the image can be changed to something more spoilery.--Hardvice (talk) 18:24, 9 March 2007 (EST)
********* Personally, I think the most important thing is that the image somehow represents or demonstrates the title of the episode. (In fact, I'd like to go back and change some of the earlier episodes, but that's neither here nor there.) "Parasite" refers pretty directly to Sylar, so it makes sense to have the image be a picture of Sylar. I like the scene we chose, but not the picture so much. I would opt for something like this (though there is a better shot from the episode, it's just not on the screencap site). — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:51, 9 March 2007 (EST)
********** Wouldn't the most 'Parasitish' scene in the entire episode, be of Sylar in the process of cutting off Peter's head to 'leech away' his brain? Just a thought. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 03/9/2007 21:21 (EST)
*********** thats pretty spoilery thought ;) --Frantik (Talk) 21:49, 9 March 2007 (EST)
*********** Actually, no, I think the most parasite-related scene would be anything with Sylar hanging out with Mohinder to get at the list. The scene when Mohinder calls Sylar a parasite, and Sylar in turn calls Chandra a parasite, is the best visualization of the title. That, and Peter's bloody head is quite...revealing. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:38, 9 March 2007 (EST)

Although we all more or less assumed she was hired to kill Nathan, it's never confirmed that that's what her assignment actually was. We saw her receive a photo of Nathan, like she received a photo of Malsky, but we didn't hear the other side of the conversation. In light of Linderman's conversation with Nathan, it's more likely she was hired merely to kill the FBI agents and stop the surveillance.--Hardvice (talk) 16:40, 12 March 2007 (EDT)

Episode name change?
- What's the source of the info that the episode name has been shortened to just Parasite? (Admin 01:42, 27 February 2007 (EST))
- My DirecTV guide is still showing the episode title as Like Any Parasite. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:45, 27 February 2007 (EST)
I've seen the episode and it is called Parasite
Synopsis late
- My synopsis will probably be late again, so if someone else wants to write one beforehand then go for it. Maybe some people in Canada who saw the episode early have rewatched it and know it by heart already so it'll be easy. :) (Admin 22:38, 5 March 2007 (EST))
- Starting it now. It'll be up in 2 hours. (Admin 18:31, 6 March 2007 (EST))
- As always, sorry for the typos and everything. It takes about two hours to get through a single hour of Heroes while writing down everything that happens. You all do a great job fixing it up and making it look presentable. (Admin 01:47, 7 March 2007 (EST))
- Starting it now. It'll be up in 2 hours. (Admin 18:31, 6 March 2007 (EST))
Next episode
Any word on the name? I saw on another form it was called ".07" but there wasn't a source. I asked for a link on the forum (got-heroes.com). I'll hold off on changing aotw until we get a title for "next on heroes". If it's not confirmed, maybe this would be a good time to reformat the layout of the main page during the wait...--Baldbobbo 01:41, 6 March 2007 (EST)
- Last time, I believe we just said "Heroes will return on January 22" until the title was confirmed.--Hardvice (talk) 01:46, 6 March 2007 (EST)
Lead Image
Any ideas? Given the title, Sylar and Mohinder would be the logical choice, but it's all pretty spoilery.--Hardvice (talk) 02:14, 6 March 2007 (EST)
Two Powers Peter?
Is it my imagination, or did Peter exhibit two powers at the same time? When Isaac started shooting at him in this episode (Parasite), he turned invisible and went away. That much I'm certain of. What I'm not sure about is whether or not he flew off. He seemed to leave very quickly, perhaps he was flying and invisible at the same time. This would seem significant, as I can't think of another time that he used two powers at the same time, unless it was during Claude's training. --AverageMan 14:01, 6 March 2007 (EST)
- when he and Claude were attacked by HRG and The Haitian, he deflected the taser using telekinesis, while invisible and with time presumably stopped (this is evidenced by the bullet-time effect used in this scene). See this episode discussion. --Fmobus 18:22, 6 March 2007 (EST)
French Talk
There is 2 moments where they speak french, let me translate it for you
- the Haitian at the phone
French => "Oui j'ai la fille, qu'est-ce que vous voulez que je fasse ? ...Je comprends...Marseille". English => Yeah I've got the girl. What do you want me to do? I see... Marseille.
- Angela to the Haitian
French => "Au moins maintenant elle sera en sécurité. Mais pas grace à vous !" - Ecoutez, j'ai fait tout ce que j'ai pu, elle aurai bien fini par trouver sa propre voie" English => At least now she will be safe, no thanks to you! - Listen, I did all I could. She would've found her own way sooner or later anyway.
Marseille is France's largest commercial port. --FrenchFlo(talk)(contribs) 14:12, 6 March 2007 (EST)
- Excellent job! I know a tiny amount of French, but once it's spoken at regular speed, I'm lost. Thanks, FrenchFlo! --ZyberGoat 21:13, 6 March 2007 (EST)
- By the way, the Haitian got a really good accent so I assume he has been studying french for long before the show contrary to Sandra that speak french with a bad accent that seemed to mean she never learned french and that it's only for the show... --FrenchFlo(talk)(contribs) 01:27, 7 March 2007 (EST)

Another Sylar power
I've noticed in Distractions that Sylar somehow can make other people completely unaware of his presence. In that episode, when HRG enters Sylar's cage, there's clearly no one in the room as he enters and closes the door. When Mr. Bennet discovers the dead guy, Sylar suddenly appears behind him. Another instance of this "power" is when he kills Dale Smither: she did not hear Sylar's footsteps ("funny I didn't hear your footsteps") until he was too close. Yet another occurrence happens in this episode: as Peter enters wrecked Mohinder's apartment, there is no one there; seconds later, Sylar shows up.
Does anyone have any idea? Maybe is some invisibility power? Phasing? Illusion? If it's some of these powers, then it would be the first occurrence of two characters with the same power (Claude/DL/Candace and the person Sylar stole the power from), which would be an interesting turn in the history (so far, all powers were "unique"). --Fmobus 18:38, 6 March 2007 (EST)
- I assumed that he was using his TK to levitate himself so that he couldn't be heard approaching. When he tells Dale "There were no footsteps," I took that to mean he wasn't touching the ground until he approached (Funny she didn't hear his haertbeat until it was too late...) In the case of Mohinder's apartment, it was very dark, so I think he just hid in the shadows. --ZyberGoat 21:16, 6 March 2007 (EST)
- I agree with the TK theory, I probably just levivate and like to scare ppl =)) --FrenchFlo(talk)(contribs) 06:19, 7 March 2007 (EST)
- For what it's worth, Jason Badower, author of Road Kill, said he believes it was telekinesis; the script for Road Kill explicitly said that Sylar uses TK to propel himself into the tree, so Jason's theory would make sense that he is able to propel himself "without footsteps". — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:58, 7 March 2007 (EST)
Main image
Can anyone get a better main-image than an out-of-focus Sylar screaming? Maybe something like Linderman (since this is his first ep)? If we need an image of Sylar, how about one with him and Mohinder or Peter? --Cylon 19:10, 6 March 2007 (EST)
- Personally, I think an image of Sylar is very effective. Maybe less out of focus, but he truly is the parasite of this episode, so he really reflects the title. Linderman, although all-encompassing, hasn't shown himself as a parasite, just a puppetmaster. --ZyberGoat 21:17, 6 March 2007 (EST)
- Also, Linderman is a bit spoilery, and we try to use a non-spoilery picture while the episode is the Article of the Week, since it's on the main page.--Hardvice (talk) 23:32, 6 March 2007 (EST)
- I think the episode image is fine. Maybe a bit out of focus, but a very good choice. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:47, 7 March 2007 (EST)
- Yeah I wish it was in focus too. that shot was very brief and the whole thing was out of focus (it's a close up right after mohinder does the spinal tap).. I just thought it worked cause a) it's of sylar who is the parasite, b) it's a cool shot, and c) it's non-spoilery in that it's not clear why sylar is screaming :) --Frantik (Talk) 19:32, 7 March 2007 (EST)
- OK, when doing an main-image for a show, shouldn't it be the most exciting, climactic, and/or important scene of the episode? (aka the most memorable)? Seeing Linderman is important. Seeing Hiro get 'the sword' is important. I would argue that both of those are more 'important' and/or fitting for the main-image than Sylar being tortured by Mohinder.....but neither of those three are the most exciting, the most climactic, or the most important and memorable. Which shot is? Slyar holding Peter to the wall as he screams while Sylar begins to cut Peter's skull off. Hands-down the most exciting and 'important' (in my book anyway)...that is the one scene this episode will always be remember by. (IMO).
Either this one:
or even better, this one:
from my perspective in consideration of the entire series as well as the highlight of Parasite, either of those two shots 'should be' the main-image. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 03/9/2007 17:02 (EST)- Regardless, the episode image needs to be not too spoilery, at least while it's on the Main Page as the Article of the Week. In fact, we tend to avoid the "most important" image for just that reason, and instead opt for an image that represents the title without giving too much away. The idea is to let visitors to the site decide which information they'd like to see, rather than hitting them over the head with images from an episode they may not have seen right on the front page.--Hardvice (talk) 17:55, 9 March 2007 (EST)
- OK....So when we get to a more un-spoilery time (after a new article of the week is posted), can we update the main pic with one of the two more-emphatic ones? What do you think about that? It's hard to follow in the shadows of last-weeks main-pic with Peter TKing Claudes staff in mid-flight....that was pretty spoilery too, to folks who hadn't yet seen that episode, but it was way-cool, and I'm glad it was used. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 03/9/2007 18:17 (EST)
- There's a huge difference.
- Personally, I think the most important thing is that the image somehow represents or demonstrates the title of the episode.
- Wouldn't the most 'Parasitish' scene in the entire episode, be of Sylar in the process of cutting off Peter's head to 'leech away' his brain? Just a thought. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 03/9/2007 21:21 (EST)
- thats pretty spoilery thought ;) --Frantik (Talk) 21:49, 9 March 2007 (EST)
- Actually, no, I think the most parasite-related scene would be anything with Sylar hanging out with Mohinder to get at the list.

Recap in japanese?
- In the notes section of the article it says that Hiro does the recap of the previous episode in Japanese? Did I miss something? (Admin 02:02, 7 March 2007 (EST))
- Mine is in English. Maybe it was a local thing? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:58, 7 March 2007 (EST)
- The recap itself was in English, but Hiro says "Previously, on Heroes" in Japanese. Hypnometal 10:57, 7 March 2007 (EST)
- Mine was in English, too. The one on NBC.com during the commentary is in Japanese (as Hypnometal says, just the line "Previously on Heroes", not the whole thing). Weird.--Hardvice (talk) 14:17, 7 March 2007 (EST)
- The version shown Sunday on Global used the Japanese intro as well, but I think NBC opted to use their traditional narrator to start the recap. --ZyberGoat 01:32, 8 March 2007 (EST)

Jessica's assignment
Although we all more or less assumed she was hired to kill Nathan, it's never confirmed that that's what her assignment actually was. We saw her receive a photo of Nathan, like she received a photo of Malsky, but we didn't hear the other side of the conversation. In light of Linderman's conversation with Nathan, it's more likely she was hired merely to kill the FBI agents and stop the surveillance.--Hardvice (talk) 16:40, 12 March 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah. Maybe to keep Nathan on his 'path'. To make sure Nathan visits him. --Xmuskrat 08:29, 15 March 2007 (EDT)
Great quote
ok this isn't really a memorable quote but I love it when Sylar trys to call one of the people on the list. The line is busy and he says to mohinder, "I'll get em later".. it's subtle but just great :D --Frantik (Talk) 22:19, 14 March 2007 (EDT)
