Jeremy's Ability

This week's episode was perfect and especially hiro and peter's storylines. But, i think we should really change jeremy's ability from healing to biological manipulation, because linderman or ishi could kill with their ability. Biological manipulation is controlling the functions of the body, it fits his ability perfect. daevon 21:45, 19 October 2009 (EDT)

  • except his assignment tracker labeled him as a healer, and noah called him a healer even after finding out about jeremy being able to kill and heal, and he stated that it was a perfectly normal evolution for healers.Gamerelite1 21:48, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
    • His AT said that his ability was "Healing Touch" ~~IHHTalk 21:50, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
      • Maybe the ability is called Biological manipulation. I can see that more than "Healing", which makes it sound it can only heal.--Catalyst · Talk · HL 21:50, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
        • We'll go with the explicit name we were given, which is "healing touch". -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:51, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
          • But that's not explaining his ability. daevon 21:53, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
            • But It is calling it what it is explicitly stated as. The real question is whether or not to put it on the healing page as the same ability.
          • It was called healing touch before they knew it could kill.--Boom D  17  22:04, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
            • As with any ability that grows, evolves, and changes, we go with the name that we are given, and we explain the differences and limits in the article itself. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:17, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
              • THANK YOU BoomerDay, thats exactly what i'm saying. They did not know his ability would evolve thats why they named it healing touch. daevon 22:18, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
                • I agree with Boomer and Daevon. They didn't know. And if the company still existed, they would probably rename it.--Catalyst · Talk · HL 22:20, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
                  • Sure they did. The Company knew about the Chinese woman who could also heal ... and kill. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:29, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
                    • Although I do think it should be called "Healing", Ryan, I gotta be the Devil's advocate here. The Company did know about that woman, but it's possible they didn't know Jeremy Greer had the same exact ability and didn't think it would evolve.--Riddler 01:28, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                    • Ishi could not kill with her ability. daevon 22:41, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
                      • Not that we know of. Neither could Linderman. Not everybody's power evolves and changes. We've seen that with a number of powers that multiple people have--some change, some don't. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:03, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
  • When Knox's ability was shown to require other people's fears, we didn't assume it was a different ability from Nikki's. We just added on the page that his power works differently. I think for the Healing Touch page, we just mention in Jeremy's section that in certain circumstances he can drain life from people as well. Also, we should put an unnamed chinese woman with the ability under unconfirmed for it.--Piemanmoo 01:12, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
    • Agree on both accounts, PMM. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:20, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
      • But keeping Knox along with everyone one else who had strength abilities was our call, not NBC's. Knox's AT said the company knew no one with the same ability as he had, even though Niki had been an agent, and Michael Fitzgerald was a Level 5 inmate, I know that they probably had just created Michael when they did, but if they meant for someone else to have that Knox's ability, they could have easily used a name they introduced long ago, I mean, it took years for us to find what Sparrow could do. There was a group of people, myself included, that always supported splitting Knox of the page, keeping his ability as enhanced strength, because it was enhanced by fear, and consider the others as having super strength. Explicit as they might have been, NBC has also called D.L. a shape shifter, among other slip ups. It's quite clear that at the time they bagged Jeremy, they didn't know he had the same ability as the Chinese woman, Noah only mentioned that after he saw the dead people/plants/animals in Jeremy's home. Similar reasoning applies for Tracy. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 12:17, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
        • Just a few notes. Knox's assignment tracker didn't say that the Company knew no one with the same ability as Knox. What it did have was an empty section where people with similar abilities would be listed. That can either be taken to mean that the section simply wasn't filled out (as it's not filled out on many other characters' ATs), or that nobody else has a similar ability because they have the same ability. Additionally, the Assignment Tracker 2.0 is not written by NBC. They are written by digital writers, episodic writers, and graphic novel writers. In most cases, NBC has interns write the captions for photos (such as the infamous "The Haitian is portrayed by Leonard Roberts" screw up, or the "D.L. is a shapeshifter" mistake). But really, we're getting way off topic, since this is a thread about Jeremy's ability. And ultimately, we go with the ability names we're given, even if they are not complete or the best names for the abilities. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:46, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
        • Heal previous power. Does the healing ability allow you to repair your DNA? If this is the case then wouldn't Peter have his original Empathic mimicry ability? He might not know it yet...
          • I don't know. Why is a tumour caused? Is it a change in your DNA, and that's why Claire's blood can't heal it (thank god they remembered to explain it this time!). Could be, but I think Peter may have noticed. If he does then he'll be able to see the sounds as he was close to Emma but still retains healing touch. --mc_hammark 13:54, 21 October 2009 (EDT)
            • According to the Ability loss page "Arthur's power to steal an ability does not damage the victim's DNA, but rather inactivates the portion of DNA in question." DNA works like a series of on and off switches. Arthur has the ability to turn off these switches. Wouldn't the healing ability that Jeremy possess cause Peters DNA to "heal" or go back to the way it was with his Empathic Mimicry ability restored? --User:coolmnk

All the carnies are crazy

So they know who Sylar is, AND they want to bring him back? They are all begging for a split open forehead, and I almost want him to give it to them. Sylar cannot be controled, no matter what. Edgar is the only one who seems to realize that.--Ratclaws 22:08, 19 October 2009 (EDT)

  • I thought the same thing. I guess just desperate for a new family member.--Catalyst · Talk · HL 22:30, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
    • Agree. We still really don't know what the "ultimate goal" is for Samuel and the carnival, and why it's so important to add family members. If they're willing to take in such an unstable and dangerous person as Sylar, it must be really important. I wouldn't want him around my kids! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:04, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
      • The writers must be crazy. The plot makes absolutely no logical sense at all - nobody wants a serial killer in their family. We have a carnival full of people with abilities and Samuel invites "the most powerful one of all" into the family to feed off them. I thought Samuel was meant to be a new villain - not a moron. Moreover, Heroes has already done the "lets use Sylar as a weapon" plot, and look what happened to Arthur...--Stang 06:32, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

My head hurts...

So, did I miss the part where we skipped to 2009 in-universe?--Gibbeynator 22:12, 19 October 2009 (EDT)

  • Why do you say that? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:17, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
    • Oh, you're probably referring to the fact that Hiro jumps back three years. I'm pretty sure he's jumping back to 2004, not 2006. I can't say much more than that. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:18, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
      • Another thing is that samuel said he had been hearing about sylar for years. Anyone else catch that? daevon 22:20, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
        • Yeah, if we follow the timeline and assume it's still 2007, then Sylar would have only been active a year and a half at most.--Gibbeynator 22:21, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
          • If you'd heard rumors about "the most powerful one of all" for so long without ever meeting the person, you might also feel like it's been years. I wouldn't take that comment literally, and certainly not as an indicator that the timeline has suddenly jumped to 2009. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:26, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
            • Maybe, maybe not. daevon 22:29, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
              • Also Noah said he bagged and tagged Jeremy 3-4 years ago when he was 13. Since Jeremy was born in 1992 this would make him 13 in 2005 which is 2 years away from 2007 not 3-4 years.--Heroesfan110 22:31, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
                • I know I'm wrong about this, but maybe it's referring to the year but not duration (six months could be enough to go from year 2004 to 2005). Or maybe Hiro went back to a time where Charlie didn't know Hiro. We'll just have to see if Charlie recognizes Hiro or not. I'm not sure since I forgot what she had that would've killed her if it wasn't Sylar, but maybe her illness can be overcame if the doctors find it in the early stage. Maybe that's why Hiro went back 3 years. Otherwise how would Hiro be able to save her except from Sylar? --Dman dustin 22:42, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
                  • But if Hiro saves Charlie from Sylar, he'll never take her power and never learn how to drive a truck and never get to Zane's house in time to meet Mohinder and season 1 falls apart!--Piemanmoo 01:12, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                    • Lol don't worry, it's Sylar, he will find another way to get to Zane. He can as well steal a police car. AltesUTC CH
  • I would say the three years means from the real date. Hiro knew Charlie in 06, it's now 09 (for us). Thus from the reader's perspective we're jumping back three years. Either that or Hiro has gone back three years from 07 or whatever year they are currently in. I agree the key will be whether or not Charlie recognises Hiro. Swm 04:51, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
    • I don't think the writers would take it from our perspective. That would cause problems for future people who watch it. Like our kids for example if they watch it in 2020! --mc_hammark 08:22, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
    • All I can say is wait and see before judgments and decisions are made about the timeline. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:00, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
      • Wait, hey guys, i think ryan is trying to hint to us when he says he can't say much more!!! wink wink! Oh and as for the title of this section, so does Hiro's! --mc_hammark 11:01, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
        • Whether or not the Charlie case ends up making sense, this isnt the first example in very recent history of them forgetting where there timeline is. They've been doing that since season 1 anyway (like when Micah played a video game that wouldnt come out for another 5 months or so), which is why I choose to take the comicbook approach and figure the Heroes-verse exists on a sliding timeline... --Action Figure 19:42, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
          • Assuming the timeline isn't out of sync, Hiro (who doesn't seem to have the best control of his ability at the moment) may have teleported back to before he met Charlie, and Samuel may have heard from someone with precognition about Sylar even before Sylar developed his ability. Just maybe.--Jas3point14 00:27, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
            • The thing about the timeline is, we don't know exactly how long the Fugitives arc lasted, so it may have been (although it seems improbable) over the course of a whole year or year and a half. We just don't know. --mc_hammark 06:20, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
              • Maybe, what they are trying to convey is that Hiro went back 3 years to way before he'd even met Charlie. ~~IHHTalk 12:24, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
              • Spoilery stuff says not. --mc_hammark 15:48, 22 October 2009 (EDT)

  • Do we need articles on all those uncredited people? --Radicell 06:46, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
    • Not necessarily. I only added them because other people were adding links to them on the site. I think Mrs. Lubbock is a good one to have. I don't really care one way or the other about Jeremy's dead parents. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:01, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
      • I don't think they were real people, just dummies. I think we should just create an article Mr. and Mrs. Greer and have stuff about where they lived and how their death was covered up by Noah etc. --mc_hammark 11:04, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
        • That sounds like a good plan. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:34, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
          • I've created the article, although I think it's a little silly to have a "named group" of two dead parents. Especially since they are listed next to groups like the FBI, The Company, etc. To have a "group" of two old dead parents there just seems intrusive and out of place. --Radicell 06:51, 21 October 2009 (EDT)
            • It doesn't bother me. It also wouldn't bother me to see the page axed. Is that the choice you'd favor, Radicell? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:22, 21 October 2009 (EDT)
              • You know me so well. I'll go ahead and add an AFD. --Radicell 03:52, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
  • If I might ask, what is so important about this Carny? We have seen a couple dozen unnamed carnies, but this is the only one who gets a article. It there a reason for this? Btw, his talk page goes to Chris Bowman, but I wasn't sure how to move it.--Ratclaws 19:17, 24 October 2009 (EDT)

Teddy's Ability

It didnt look much like the invisibility effects, maybe dynamic camoflauge. Maybe he was the one who hid the carnival in hysterical blindness. daevon 22:49, 19 October 2009 (EDT)

  • Dimensional storage is what I got from it. Also, isn't there a evolutions ability of object displacement or something like that?--Ratclaws 23:04, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
    • It could be dimensional storage...but it's kind of a leap for us to say that Teddy put the box of supplies in another dimension. I'm not sure I'm comfortable making that leap. Plus, Tabula Rasa was written some time before a fan created the ability of dimensional storage, and even longer before it was featured in the iStory. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:07, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
      • I don't think he displaced the object or put it in another dimension. It seemed like "Object disappearance" or something to that effect.--Catalyst · Talk · HL 23:08, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
        • Agree. That name doesn't seem speculative, either. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:31, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
          • I was right: Object displacement, held by dead company agent Sebastian Shell. It's cannon, but now that I think about it, dissappearance sounds better.--Ratclaws 23:35, 19 October 2009 (EDT)
            • Well it could also be illusion. He could have made the box seem like it had dissapeared without it moving. If it did indeed move via another dimension or whatnot we should stick with Object displacment.--Piemanmoo 01:12, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
              • It didn't look like he was displacing anything. Just hiding or making it disappear. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:21, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                • Or he displaced it from sight???? Looks like we may need to maybe ask the writers or someone as to what exactly Teddy can do. Also Damien's power also. Btw, I do like the sound of Object Displacement and Memory Projection. AJUTChronicles
                  • I think there are a lot of good theories out there. But I don't think we know enough to say whether it was some kind of displacement, projection, illusion, disappearance, or any other idea that's floating out there. These are all good ideas, and some might be on the right track (I don't have any inside information here, I'm just going off what I saw with everybody else). But I don't think we know enough about the power to give it a name right now. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:03, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                    • So we're stuck with Teddy's ability. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 12:17, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                      • Does anyone notice, that the pointless abilities only ever get, like, one appearance and end up with names like Trevor's ability and Tom's ability. The only one that isn't pointless though is Gordon's ability. --mc_hammark 15:52, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                        • If one knows how to use it, no ability is pointless. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 15:56, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                          • I agree, IE. I don't know if Teddy made the carnival disappear in Hysterical Blindness, but if he did, that would be a terrific use of the ability. My goodness, what mischief a person could get into (and what power they could accumulate) if they were able to hide whatever they wanted. Very neat ability. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:48, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                            • I'm not saying that this ablility is pointless, i'm just saying that a lot of ones named like this are. --mc_hammark 16:50, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                              • Only because the characters having them were given little to no development, and sometimes afraid of their abilities, meaning they won't develop them. With the proper mindset and enough cunning, even imprinting could be quite a deal, though not necessarily in a combat situation. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 16:55, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                                • I would love to have imprinting! To me that seems more useful in everyday life than something like freezing or spontaneous combustion. No one ever accidentally killed someone or blew up Twinkles by writing on them. Homework, paperwork, and all those other annoying things you have to write would be a thing of the past. Sigh... why did they have to destroy all of the formula? :)--Ratclaws 17:21, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                                  • Soon after that power was introduced, and I called it "useless", I was in a meeting, ready to take notes, and I realized I'd lost my pen! :P--Cro Magnon 17:38, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                                    • Personally it looked exactly like candice's illusion ability. Gamerelite1 17:48, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                                      • Not really, it certainly didn't use either effects used for her ability. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 17:50, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
                                        • I believe you yourself said that they had changed the effects for that before. --mc_hammark 18:09, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

Damien's Ability

  • Telepathy? Healing? Or something to the effect of memory restoration? I assume that would mean than on normal people he can make them remember things from a long time ago. Basicaly, it seems like Damien's power is to Enhanced memory as Healing Touch is to Rapid Cell Regeneration. One affects yourself constantly, while the other lets you temporarily give that to another person.--Piemanmoo 01:12, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
    • There was a projection aspect to it too, so perhaps memory projection? Getbrett 01:32, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
      • I'm not sure we know enough about it yet to name it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:22, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
        • Normally I don't go into naming disputes, but it seems like memory projection to me- he sees memories and can project them onto objects, like mirrors. It's not memory restoration per se, as Sylar didn't actually remember the images (hence why he was terrified) and didn't seem to accept them.Swm 04:53, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
  • Like I said on his page, everything seems to be leading us to believe it's Mental Manipulation. The his eyes roll back, the stiff way he holds his hands over Sylar's face, even the fact that he never speaks one word. I say it's just a more- or differently-developed version of the Haitian's power.--Laudo 09:04, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
    • I reckon Memory Projection is actually a really good description for the ability. Damien touched Sylar's head and then later, Sylar expirienced almost "projections" of his memories. These projections were brought through reflective surfaces. Memory Projection. Also, side note, it seemed that Damien was never too far away from Sylar as he guided him into the Hall of Mirrors and was later seen still waiting but the Hall's side??? He had the proximity to manipulate Sylar's mind! AJUTChronicles

So can the carnival teleport?

Presumably so. Either that or it is in one spot (presumably somewhere near Baltimore at the moment since Lubbock comes with his family) but can access multiple points in the "real world." a) If it was in the same field where Sylar disappeared last week (apparently only a day or two at most of on-screen time), than Lubbock would probably put two and two together. ("Wasn't there an empty field there where Gray just disappeared?"). b) Rebecca moves from the sorority house to the carnival in a very short period of time and then back again. That would also indicate the carnival wasn't in the field where Sylar disappeared and therefore wasn't rendered invisible or covered in an illusion, as per point a. --CourtesyofTVRage.com 01:42, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

  • Maybe that guy, Teddy, displaces the carnival. AltesUTC CH
    • I originally thought it was Illusion, but you're right. Especially since Samuel actually invited the captain to come see the show- surely he'd realise the risk. Add to that Rebecca's movement and it does seems as though the place can shift around. Swm 04:59, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
      • Especially if Ted possessed Dimensional storage?? he could store the carnival in another dimension for a split second and then bring it out in a completely different spot! ??? Also, anyone wonder how they got all their carnival stuff over to Tokyo 14 years ago??? AJUTChronicles
        • Arnold could have teleported everything and everyone to Japan. AltesUTC CH
          • I'm sure the carnival moves occasionally on its own. People would notice otherwise. I just don't think it's moving every time someone needs to run in or out as we've seen with Rebecca and Sylar. Also note that this episode, they're working with concrete (Sylar shoves Edgar into a wheelbarrow of it). Which is something you wouldn't be doing if you pick up and move once a week like most carnivals. --CourtesyofTVRage.com 18:41, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
            • But Samuel has Terrakinesis, surely if he can manipulate ink, he should be able to do the same with concrete. Hmm actually absurd as it is, is there anyway Samuel could be moving the carnival through Terrakineses? He did sink that house in Ink? --Kh93 20:51, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

Hiro, you son of a b--

So Peter did all those things for nothing? He almost got killed to save your poor life, and you simply disappear before he can heal you? You sick kamikaze. AltesUTC CH

  • I'm pretty sure it was another accidental use of his teleportation. It doesn't really make sense otherwise, as he knew Peter had gone off somewhere to help him, and he could have gone to save Charlie afterwards. Plus it does render the events of an otherwise great episode somewhat pointless if we say he did it on purpose. Swm 04:56, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
  • Hiro isn't able to control his power lately, so the teleporting happens spontanious, so he can't really help it -- (WaterRatj) 05:24, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
  • Exactly what I was thinking, lol... Poor Hiro, he just might be the one dying... either that or Matt goes crazy and tries to kill himself.. :P -- (Rocky) 10:10, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
    • Roquerojas, Make sure if you edit you don't remove someone elses comment -- (WaterRatj) 01:02, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
  • It sure looked like an accident to me. --Cro Magnon 10:38, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
    • Yeah, he was walking away, and was in the middle of a thought. Usually Hiro stops and concentrates to use his ability--even when a gun is pointed at him or arrows are raining down upon him. But in this case, he was walking and in the middle of a conversation. I don't think it was on purpose that he left. Plus, that's so out of character for Hiro, that I don't buy that he just up and left. I believe it was another accidental use of his ability, as he has had so many recently. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:06, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
      • I know Jeremy was still shaken, but Peter was really stupid: if he wanted Hiro to get better ASAP, all he had to do was to teleport with Jeremy back to the hospital, and then take him back. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 12:17, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
        • Jeremy could kill Hiro or even Peter while teleporting. But if Hiro did time travel by accident again, I'm relieved. This also explains why he traveled three years ago. AltesUTC CH
          • Well, what if destiny wants Hiro to bring Charlie to a nurse Peter and both of them can be healed...of course the writers would have to make it so that Hiro brings Charlie into the future on accident like the same way he went into the past....did that make sense?--Anthony Gooch 20:17, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

Sylar's flashback

Quite a nice way they did this, with the House of Mirrors. So does this mean that the people who portrayed the flashbackees (ie. those in the flashbacks) are now Season Four Guest Stars? --Radicell 07:07, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

  • Was sylar's mother, Virginia Gray, credited for the episode? I am pretty sure it had her as guest starring on the spoiler blurb thing. AJUTChronicles
    • She was, because right before the memories start appearing she appears to say something new. --Silurian King 08:12, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
      • I think we should credit them. This wasn't a recap or one of those montages we're used to seeing. I know it's all archival footage, but we've always counted archival footage as appearances (see Four Months Ago... and other episodes). Right now my gut is saying that we should count both the characters and actors as Season Four characters and actors. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:08, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
        • We can count Charlie as we saw her back! --mc_hammark 11:09, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
          • I think we should count them all, but Charlie definitely. However, I'll also point out that it the actress who was playing Charlie's back wasn't Jayma Mays. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:13, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
            • I don't think they're all "guest stars", they were merely using old reels. They didn't do anything new, except maybe Charlie. But I wasn't able to see the last 20 minutes.--anguard 12:48, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
              • Doing something new is not criteria for being considered a guest star. Mark Spatney sat in a cocoon for a few episodes and became a recurring character. A bunch of people had their names in Chandra's journal and became minor characters. The point is that their characters appeared in Season Four. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:52, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

Damian should be Damien

Per the end credits, the proper spelling as presented there is "Damien." I'm not sure how to edit it throughout for his page, his power, his image, and so on.--CourtesyofTVRage.com 09:56, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

  • That's how I initially searched for it, but someone had already created his page as damian. --mc_hammark 10:50, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
    • We can move it. NBC had spelled it "Damian". However, the credits take precedence over anything NBC says. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:08, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

Edgar

I'm confused. They keep trying to make us feel sympathy for Edgar and his plight (whatever that is), and then he turns around and kills someone.--anguard 12:41, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

  • I know, he seemed like such a nice guy at the begining, wanting redemption, but they appear to have turned him into a a-hole on the show and istory. But, in the webisodes, he seems to be that good guy again, helping out Lydia. However, both murders he has commited have had valid reasons: Danko hunted his kind, and maybe killed Joseph, while Lubbock might have figured out they were hiding Sylar, and was a threat to the carnivals saftey, which he obiviously cares about.--Ratclaws 14:50, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
  • Isn't that the point of a character? Should they always be sympathetic? Or should they always be villainous? Personally, I enjoy it when I both love and loathe a character. I like the fact that I feel a little badly for Edgar, yet I'm disgusted by his actions at the same time. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:54, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
    • Personally I dont need another single story trying to make me feel sympathy toward Sylar. He is a murderer, and has scored to many kills to be redeemed. (Not to mention all the chances he's had.) --Action Figure 19:51, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
      • I completely agree with you. I'm so sick of the whole idea of redeeming him, its way to late, they just need to kill him off for real! --Skullman1392 23:51, 21 October 2009 (EDT)
        • I still like Sylar's character, so I'm hoping they don't kill him off. He's a little bit too conflicted which gets kind of annoying imo, even though I think he should be a dynamic character, and having him finding new ways to reinvent himself is fine. But ultimately, the power hungry character that's currently residing in Matt Parkman is what I like about him. He's one of the few people that truly embraces their ability and looks for ways to develop it. But since this section was originally about Edgar, developing his character would be nice, although I have a feeling he'll die within a season or two and they really should make better use of Ray Park's abilities.--Jas3point14 19:38, 23 October 2009 (EDT)

Shape shifting

Now that we have a definite example of shape shifting, can we please restore the first one in Orientation/JPF? The one near when Sylar sparks his hands and turns off the lights with TK? I believe that image hasn't been deleted yet, someone had called doubt on that example. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 13:08, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

  • What image? I don't remember the example to which you're referring. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:55, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
    • This. Just after Sylar gets stirred up because of the telekinesis with the cup, and the sparks in his hand, he walks away from his desk, turns a light switch off with TK and turns back to Sylar's appearance for a moment, that image is that moment. I remember it being added to the examples page, but someone took it off saying it wasn't. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 16:59, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
      • Technically, the example of Shapeshifting there would be the whole time he was Nathan........ __Action Figure 19:53, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
        • Not really. From what we were shown, the act of shape shifting is the ability, not the result. When James Martin died, he stayed in Sylar's form because that's who he was impersonating at the time, if shape shifting actively made the shifter stay in another form, he would've changed back. That means that the moment of changing is the actual power. When Sylar changed into Nathan, he used the power, but remaining as Nathan isn't using the power, his changing to his original appearance however, is. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 19:58, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
          • If it's an example of shapeshifting, add it back to the examples page. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:37, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

Noah's ability

  • In the scene when Peter got shot, Noah told Jeremy that "Listen to me. My power is understanding people like you". I'm not really sure but he seemed to say it metaphorically.--NiveKJ13 (talk2me) 13:59, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

Teddy

Teddy's ability is Dimensional storage. Meteoritu =D- 20:55 20 September 2009

  • You can't just state it and that's it. You need confirmation or further evidence. And see the conversation above. --mc_hammark 15:57, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
  • Teddy's ability is not dimensional storage. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:56, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

I know its sorta weird but...

Did anyone else laugh when People did the double take and realized he been shot, or previously when Annie got pushed out the window, the way she seesawed over the window frame looked pretty ridiculous.--Fr0z3nB0nes 17:56, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

  • If only we didn't see Peter's wound, he would have been OK.--Gibbeynator 18:43, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

Will Peter heal Emma?

Since Peter took the healing ability from Jeremy, he can now heal living tissue according to Noah. So does anyone else think that he will restore Emma's hearing, since she would still have the tissue necessary to hear? I don't know anything about hearing loss but I wouldn't think the tissue would be dead. Just a thought.

  • I don't think they would have cast an actress that is actually deaf if they had planned on restoring her hearing in the show.--DarrellG 15:24, 21 October 2009 (EDT)

I kinda hope he does restore her hearing because the fact that she has suddenly been able to near-perfectly talk after her 2nd or 3rd episode appearance seemed super lame to me.--onehardrocker 22:22, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

  • Plus I think we should count in the fact that the actress is partially deaf too, and I think that would cause continuity errors if we had a deaf actress play a healed woman...plus, I think it might also affect her ability if she can hear things.--Anthony Gooch 23:14, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
    • I can actually see Peter healing her, and then Emma asking him to undo what he had done.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:19, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
      • Like she actually misses being deaf?...hmm, sounds like it could be a good little twist! But do you think her being able to hear would affect her ability?--Anthony Gooch 23:24, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
        • Probably not, but I think she might have come to accept being deaf as part of who she is. And giving her the ability to hear might take away from her appreciation for the ability she just gained. That might not be the case, but I could see that being an interesting storyline.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:07, 21 October 2009 (EDT)
        • I don't think so, she's reall deaf and i don't want her to be healed, cause it will be unnatural, i like her the way she is -- (WaterRatj) 00:39, 21 October 2009 (EDT)
        • There are deaf people who prefer to stay deaf when given the opportunity to regain some of their hearing ability (e.g. through hearing aids, Cochlear implants, etc). Also, many deaf people can speak - they just choose not to, usually due to a lack of confidence, which seems to fit with Emma's character - she is gaining confidence, and thus speaking more.--Stang 00:51, 21 October 2009 (EDT)

I want Peter to lose control over healing touch and kill everyone, he'll become a fugitive and eventually end up at the carnival, where he'll meet Sylar who calls himself Nathan, then there will be an epic fight, Sylar will be killed, Peter will be killed by Samuel, Sylar heals and kills Samuel. Whooh! AltesUTC CH

  • Hell no :p Peter rocks so does Sylar, they should help eachother, they should control the world, and Samuel isn't powerfull enough to kill peter, if tha happens, I stop watching Heroes -- (WaterRatj) 02:16, 21 October 2009 (EDT)
    • Peter can only kill with touch, Samuel may choke him with ink =P AltesUTC CH
      • Peter can take any power he will, he could go back in time and kill Samuel as a baby :p, and many many other deaths :p even kill samuel with his own power :p and if peter has RCR, samuel won't be able to kill peter, and peter can slap him to death :p -- (WaterRatj) 00:18, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
  • But then Sylar would still be alive... Not a plus in my book --Skullman1392 23:56, 21 October 2009 (EDT)
    • Why not? Sylar isn't that 'evil', they all made him this way, he could turned out to be a hero but nooooo, they all took advantage of him :o, poor poor Sylar -- (WaterRatj) 00:22, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
      • I think he was doomed from the start because of the Hunger. Sure he was pitiable six months ago, but after that he crossed a line, he didn't even try to control it. He sure wasn't pitiable when he killed Charlie, or Dale, or Alejandro, or Sue (on her birthday!). The writers keep doing this to us, making us believe he's gunna redeem himself, but he is what he is, and that is a killer. Sure I felt kinda sorry when he had to see all the people he'd killed, but I know he's gunna just revert back to the old Sylar, and that is why I can't stand him. Maybe if his whole "Villains" plotline hadn't happened, I would feel differently, but things being as they are, fifty murders and the adandoned path to change is too far over the "redemption" line for me. --Skullman1392 02:27, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
        • I love evil Sylar :D, he to amazing then :D, and yes he is destined to be a killer, but that's okay :D there must be a villain somewhere. :D -- (WaterRatj) 02:42, 22 October 2009 (EDT)

New category

This new chapter got me thinking. We've had quite some people reading the monologue, should we make a category for them? Either characters or actors, not sure. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 08:05, 23 October 2009 (EDT)

  • Well we have always talked about them being Mohinder's Monologues, never Sendhil Ramamurthy's. I'm for it being the character. --mc_hammark 10:44, 23 October 2009 (EDT)
    • They haven't been Mohinder only for a while now. The fact many different characters did the monologue this season called my attention to it. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 10:47, 23 October 2009 (EDT)
      • I know mohinder hasn't done any since season 3, and even then it was rarely, what I'm saying is, if you were told that there would be a monologue next week, you generally think that mohinder will be the one reading it, don't you. And I think there have been three(?) others that have read them... linderman...nathan...and samuel (twice this season). That's all i can remember. --mc_hammark 11:04, 23 October 2009 (EDT)
        • I vote for after it, having it like this:

Bla Bla Bla Bla
-Character

~~IHHTalk 16:01, 23 October 2009 (EDT)

          • Thats a really good idea (Sylar did one too) And there should be a category for characters who have done monolouges, considering that they were in character (Nathan's reflects on how he's living his life, Linderman talked about how he collected paintings)--Skullman1392 17:16, 23 October 2009 (EDT)
            • I am not in favor of changing how we write (or ascribe) the monologues. I am also not in favor of making a category about monologues. I do think it would be nice to put the difference in the Notes section. Also, the opening monologues are always in the perspective of the character. When Sendhil reads the monologues, they are in Mohinder's accent (Sendhil does not have a British accent in real life). When Malcolm McDowell and Robert Knepper did the monologues, they talked about their own characters in the first person; it was never from the perspective of a narrator talking about the characters. Anyway, the first episode I can think of that used a different "monologuer" than Mohinder was .07%. I think we should simply follow the format on that page. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:19, 23 October 2009 (EDT)
