New Characters

  • Apart from Mrs. Gray, the only new credited character is the "Petrelli Aide" (the aide who lets Angela in to see Nathan -- I thought that was the campaign manager at first, but it's not), played by Geno Monteiro. Worth the effort?--Hardvice (talk) 23:40, 7 May 2007 (EDT)
    • She called him "Brandon", I'm pretty sure... and no. He doesn't talk. But then again, we have Rufus. ---- 00:45, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Rufus is part of the Company. This Brandon dude knocks on a door. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:47, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
        • And Rufus had a line.--Bob 01:35, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
          • I uploaded a nice image of the guy. --Norman 06:52, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
            • I just went through all the recently uploaded files and I didn't see any picture of the guy that knocks on the door of Nathan's office. Where's the image? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:26, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
              • Oops! My bad, I thought you were talking about the wheelchair guy. --Norman 07:28, 10 May 2007 (EDT)

Rena Sofer

...is credited. She didn't appear. Hmmm. Ne'er mind -- I remember now. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:47, 8 May 2007 (EDT)

Suddenly Seymour

So when Ellen Greene said that Oregon was green, I was really tempted to make an article about Little Shop of Horrors. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:31, 8 May 2007 (EDT)

  • That headline totally should have been "Suddenly Sylar." :-) --ZyberGoat 02:52, 8 May 2007 (EDT)

Synopsis

  • ...is a bit less detailed than the others. It could use some expansion and a few more links to different articles (like Hiro's sword, etc.). Also, only one link per article within the synopsis is sufficient (the general rule is one link per section, to accomodate those using a section redirect or the Table of Contents). Otherwise, great job!--Hardvice (talk) 03:21, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
    • Thanks, should probably also add the parts about Angela acknowledging to Nathan she knows about the bomb, where Peter gives Claire a gun, and where Ando shows Hiro a sketch of Sylar killing him... I just did as much as I could from memory so the Synopsis could get started.--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:56, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Ok, the above suggestions have been added and I updated the checklist.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:35, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
        • The summary for this episode is a little sparse, but I feel that the other episode summaries are way too long and overstuffed, no offense. I don't think anyone really wants to know every single aspect of the episode, to the point of describing every line of dialog. There needs to be a middle ground. Thoughts? DannyP 17:40, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
          • If you think it's too sparse, try growing it some, DannyP. I think it's okay as-is but then there may be other things I have haven't thought of.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:13, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
          • I don't think there are any episode summary that describes "every line of dialog", but yes, they're long. However, I find that the full "bloated" episode summaries are a really great resource. When I write individual character histories, I find it really difficult when details are missing. Conversely, I love when all the details for which I'm looking are contained in the ep summary. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:47, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
            • "Every line" was a hyperbole on my part. Hehe. And yes, I do agree that missing details really do suck, and I get an itch to expand on character histories a bit. But at the same time, it's really major plot points that should be the focus, and I feel that there are some superfluous bits in the summaries. And I feel like it doesn't leave enough to the imagination. As for expanding on this episode's summary, I'll work on that, though with my lack of sleep at the moment, I'm not sure if I'm up to it. DannyP 18:51, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
              • I tend to think our summaries are a bit too detailed for my tastes, but then again I've had brevity brow-beaten into me by law school professors. However, lots of people apparently like how in-depth they are, and it does make them a pretty nice resource without having to resort to the transcripts, which are further bloated out by stage directions and the like.--Hardvice (talk) 13:52, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
                • Good point. Those transcripts are a bit annoying to file through, though I still don't particularly enjoy so many details, many of which aren't even relevant to the story, especially when one sentence can effectively cover an entire conversation without much trouble. But I'm not going to keep chasing the point by myself, and the articles are still great all the same. It'd be nice to see just which style is preferred by a large group of users/visitors though. But what's more concerning to me at the moment is that the way the synopses are a bit clunky and don't transition smoothly. DannyP 16:23, 12 May 2007 (EDT)

Checking Off Updates

  • We need to be careful about not checking things off the list until they are completed. Things like new locations, paintings, and power uses need images as well as text; if we mark them off before adding the images, we risk missing them.--Hardvice (talk) 04:11, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
    • I don't think we need to worry too much about it. If there's solid content, I think it's OK to check off an item; people will keep improving it even after it's checked. --Ted C 13:41, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
      • So we should check off half-finished items? That seems to defeat the purpose of a checklist. If I work on an item, but don't finish it, I leave it unchecked, so others will actually know that it isn't finished. Otherwise, if it isn't marked as a stub and isn't on the checklist, the chances of it actually getting updated more than a few days out from the episode are pretty slim.--Hardvice (talk) 13:56, 10 May 2007 (EDT)

Micah's location

I think it would be sufficient to include him in the Company's facility for the time being. --Bob 05:24, 8 May 2007 (EDT)

  • He's in the Corinthina Hotel isn't he? it would make sense, Linderman could keep an eye on him there Ehsteve23 12:11, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
    • It would make sense that he's in the Corinthian Casino, but I'm not sure it's confirmed. He could also be in Kirby Plaza, in Primatech, or even in his own home but in some illusion created by Candace. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:25, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Isn't it stated that he was taken to New York? Jessaniki and DL went to the Corinthian to find him but he wasn't there. Webrunner 13:33, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
        • I'm pretty sure he's in New York. When the camera panned back through the window and then down to the street, it was New York. Also, I think Linderman needs him there to fix the election, and he wouldn't be in a position to be caught in the Explosion if he weren't in New York. --Ted C 13:36, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
          • Ted's correct. It pans directly down to Kirby Plaza. Plus, Suresh and Thompson meet right outside, and Thompson tells him "why don't you come inside". Either both are on Kirby Plaza, or it's the same building. Since we don't have much information, I think it would be safe to put Micah's "cell" in the Company facility, which is outside Kirby Plaza.--Bob 16:58, 8 May 2007 (EDT)

Once this dern thing downloads...

...I can knock out a bunch of these pages. That'll keep me awake so I can start my favorite: studying!--Bob 06:21, 8 May 2007 (EDT)

The Linderman's file

Aren't we going to create a page for the Linderman's folder about Niki, DL and Micah ? -- FrenchFlo (talk)        08:24, 8 May 2007 (EDT)

Molly's Power

Molly's power is currently being discussed on her talk page. I think we need to settle on a name before we create a page and start linking to it. I'm not sure if we even know enough about her power to properly name it, let alone describe it. Can she locate anything? Only people? Only people with powers? Her ability is so poorly defined at the moment that I hesitate to say more about it than we already have in the blurb on her character page. --Ted C 10:25, 8 May 2007 (EDT)

  • I totally agree with you, Ted. I mean, she hasn't even demonstrated it yet. Other than what's already written on Molly Walker#Powers (which should be transcribed into the powers glossary once we come up with a name), everything else is guesswork. I just don't feel comfortable starting a page (which has already been done) when the freakin' power hasn't even been demonstrated. — StickInTheMud (talk) 11:20, 8 May 2007 (EDT)

Plots

  • Suresh could actually kill Sylar in episode ".07%" when he smashed Sylar to the ground with the map. This would definitely change the story line. If Hiro knew about this, he could time-travel back to finish Sylar in that critical moment. Heroes 13:31, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
    • I remember screaming at the television when Suresh didn't finish the little psycho off then and there. --Ted C 16:07, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
  • In the episode "Five Years Gone", Hiro was holding an unbroken katana but in this episode, the katana was broken. Heroes 13:31, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
    • Five Years Gone was a possible future. Heroe!(talk) (contribs) Random Page! 13:40, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
    • Who says they were the same katana? Or that FHiro didn't fix the sword during the five years? Hmmm... — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:38, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Actually, Hiro broke Future Hiro's sword. His sword was taken away by Matt. That alone shows that it's a different timeline now.--Bob 17:19, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
        • Actually, the sword currently in Hiro's possession is Hiro's original sword. When Mohinder killed the Haitian, he retrieved Hiro's sword from a shelf and handed it to him. Later on, when Future Hiro arrived, he was shot and the future sword remained on his back. It was Hiro's original sword (the one he got from Linderman) that he still has.--Paronine 19:52, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
        • My head hurts.--unfalln 09:43, 11 May 2007 (AEST)
          • Mohinder never took either sword off the shelf. He actually took off Future Hiro's and handed it to present Hiro. DannyP 23:21, 17 May 2007 (EDT)

Spanish Subtitles Early Revelation

During .07%, Noah tells Ted and Matt about a "tracking system" and the Spanish subtitles follow that conversation pretty closely. But in this episode, Noah tells Matt: "The company has a new tracking system. This Walker system doesn't rely on isotypes and satellites..." and Matt replies, "Fine. We go to New York, we wipe out the Walker system." The Spanish subtitles have Noah saying, "The company has a tracking system. It's a girl that doesn't rely on isotypes and satellites..." with Matt replying, "Fine. We go to New York and eliminate the girl." In the next episode, it's back to business as usual, the Spanish translation goes back to just talking about it as a "tracking system" and Noah and Matt go on with intentions to "wipe out" the system, Noah knowing it's a person but not knowing it's a little girl, and Matt being blissfully unaware that it was even a person. ... I'd consider that a fairly noticeable lack of continuity for Spanish-speaking viewers that are watching Heroes for the first time with these subtitles. =] Anyway, I bring this up here as an interesting bit of trivia, not knowing if there is a better place to mention this type of thing. OptimisticFool 02:39, 1 September 2008 (EDT)

  • It's an interesting bit of trivia. Perhaps we could add it to the trivia section for this episode.--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:03, 1 September 2008 (EDT)
    • I'm far too wordy to be able to shorten this for the trivia section of the article.. if it's really article-worthy, it'd be cool if someone could, though. =] OptimisticFool 03:35, 1 September 2008 (EDT)
      • Can you provide the exact Spanish translations? I think that would help whomever decides to add it.--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:56, 1 September 2008 (EDT)
        • Sure. The original dialogue is:
The company has a new tracking system. This Walker system doesn't rely on isotypes and satellites.
...
Fine. We go to New York, we wipe out the Walker system.
The Spanish subtitles read:
La compañía tiene un sistema de rastreo. Es una niña que no depende de isótopos y satélites.
(The company has a tracking system. It's a girl that doesn't rely on isotypes and satellites.)
...
Está bien, vamos a Nueva York, y eliminamos a la niña.
(That's fine, we go to New York, and eliminate the girl.)
I don't like the commas, but that's how it's subtitled, so I translated it with the commas intact. The rest of the dialogue is mostly the same and not really relevant anyway. OptimisticFool 04:29, 1 September 2008 (EDT)
  • I've added it to the page. Interesting (and unfortunate) mistranslation, eh? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:48, 1 September 2008 (EDT)
  • I watched the episodes long ago and didn't recall that. I watched it again right now to check this mistranslation, and it's properly translated. Subs say (i'm currently reading off the screen btw): "bien, iremos a nueva york y destruiremos el sistema walker" which translates to: "fine, we'll go to new york and destroy the walker system". So, this trivia is quite incorrect, the subs are perfect. Or is there a one subtitle for latinamerica and another for spain maybe? If there is, this should be clarified.
