Tracy steps up to save Amanda from herself. |
Amanda is a lost young girl, feeling misunderstood because of her ability to make objects burst into flame. She reached out to her estranged mother, Lydia, hoping to live with her at the Carnival. But to Amanda's dismay, Lydia warned her to stay away. On the verge of breaking down, Amanda then crossed paths with Peter Petrelli. He encouraged Amanda to seek her mother out in spite of the warnings. But the journey to the Carnival will prove to be more dangerous than Amanda expected... |
Summary
Amanda runs after her bus that she only just missed. After the bus drives away without her, Amanda becomes upset and burns a bench next to her. The fire attracts the attention of a passing driver who pulls over and offers Amanda a lift. Tracy tells Amanda that she will only take her to the next bus stop. She does this and Amanda gets out. She notices two men breaking into a car and stealing a purse out of it and, for the first time, Amanda concentrates her ability on only the tires of the men's escape car. Amanda successfully burns the tires but her ability gets out of control and spreads to the rest of the car, trapping the men inside. Tracy then emerges and freezes the car, saving the men. Amanda is amazed at Tracy's power and Tracy gives Amanda some advice on how the world will never accept people like them. She then offers Amanda a ride to her mother and Amanda accepts. Tracy also comments on how she will teach Amanda to practice her ability on flowers.
Amanda finally arrives at the carnival and is overjoyed. She looks at a photo of her mother and hopes she will be happy to see her. While standing outside the carnival, flowers around Amanda begin to burn.
