Great novel
- It's great to see some old faces again. 03:45, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- Yeah, I hope part 2 has more Eden.--MiamiVolts (talk) 04:09, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- I hope there is mroe Zach. Eden had a line in the novel and was present in an entire page. Zach was just drawn in at the end. --Pinkkeith 11:18, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- I hope there's more to Papa Petrelli's power! 04:30, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- I hope we see some more Alchemy. --Piemanmoo 04:48, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- I hope there's more to Papa Petrelli's power! 04:30, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- I guess I'm in the minority in thinking this one was just oddly written and didn't fit in. Why would they send Elle to monitor Claire, then act as if they had no idea she was an EH in Company Man...doesn't make sense.--Bob (talk) 11:01, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- I figure that the Company sent Elle to monitor Claire to see if she developed a special ability, but that Elle didn't find any evidence that she had. What's a little unnerving is that the tracking obviously took place over several months, but the writer/artist don't give you much indication of the time passing by.--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:45, 11 December 2007 (EST)
Zach or Brody?
- My first thought when I finished the GN was that the "school pariah" was Brody Mitchum, not Zach...but after looking it up, a "social pariah" is defined (by Wikipedia, at least :) as an outcast. Definately a description of Zach...but (and I know this is a typical GN meme) that didn't really look like Thomas Dekker. --Simply Agrestic 09:32, 11 December 2007 (EST)
Sprinklers
Did Elle's lightning turn on the sprinklers or did Eden? [1] -Lөvөl 11:56, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- I'm pretty sure Eden did. Her comment about reading Elle's file and how water can cause her ability to backfire kinda leans that way. --NellaBishop 12:11, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- I got the impression that the lightning triggered the sprinklers, and that Eden heard Elle's screams and came running.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:54, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- I also am reasonably sure, from her statement, that Eden turned on the sprinklers to stop Elle from frying Mr. Muggles.--Hardvice (talk) 13:36, 11 December 2007 (EST)
Timeline
- So Eden's alive and in Odessa, and Claire is already hanging out with Zach. Hmm. Zach said that, prior to Claire asking him to film her, they hadn't spoken in years, so that's got to be within a few days of October 1st at the earliest. Eden should have already been planted in New York, monitoring Chandra, by the time Claire approaches Zach about filming her powers. I suppose Eden could use the magical Heroes transportation physics to go back and forth, but otherwise this seems to place the sprinkler scene between October 8th (the day after Eden picks up Isaac and returns to Odessa) and October 11th (the day she commits suicide).--Hardvice (talk) 13:44, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- I agree with that... though the day 17 part with Elle drawing Claire in the classroom... that's supposed to be when, exactly? 17 days + July 31st would be August 16th at most. Isn't that before the first day of school?--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:00, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- I dunno. If she started watching Claire at the start of the school year (usually mid-August to early September here in Texas), then day 17 is presumably early to mid September. Of course, it's possible she didn't start at the beginning of the school year. Where'd July 31st come from?--Hardvice (talk) 14:06, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- Oh, ok. Eight months ago from March 2007 is July 2006. That's when she gets the assignment, so presumably she starts at the beginning of the school year, placing the events in Hartsdale in July and the events in Odessa between August/September and October 8-11th.--Hardvice (talk) 14:12, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- Ah, 17 days from the beginning of the school year makes more sense. But if she's going to be snooping at Noah's house, why wait until after the school year begins? I guess that's supposed to show her inexperience. Hrm.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:39, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- Claire may have had cheerleading practice over the summer (and possibly summer school), and that may have been what she was referring to. So Elle may have started watching Claire in July before school began. (I don't know if that jives with what y'all are saying, I'm sorta reading this on the fly.) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:52, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- Nah, day 17 was when Elle was in the classroom drawing Claire on her notepad. She had to mean day 17 of the school year, not her mission or else the timeline doesn't work.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:59, 11 December 2007 (EST)

- Incidentally, the school year here started on August 14th this year. Texas schools seem to start pretty early compared to a lot of places. Of course, they're off for winter break by like the 12th or so.--Hardvice (talk) 15:12, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- In South Florida, they've been starting early too. Mid-August is normal now.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:16, 11 December 2007 (EST)

Easter Egg
...looks to be in-character, not behind-the-scenes.--Hardvice (talk) 14:08, 11 December 2007 (EST)
"with her blood..."
While reading the GN, I got the impression that the Company didn't know if she had manifested a power (and thus didn't know her blood's regenerative capabilities), and that Bob was talking about her Petrelli blood, since her father is Nathan. —Zelune 19:41, 11 December 2007 (EST)
- I agree, but I've added a note since it's been asked a lot and we can't really be sure either way.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:51, 11 December 2007 (EST)
