Penny's mother
Thompson, Jr. calls Penny's mother Connie on Page 4. --Muffin84 04:55, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- Ah, I missed that--thanks! It's a cool novel. There's a lot going on in it.--MiamiVolts (talk) 04:57, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- And the CL in CLql99dt tells us that we'll be getting an assignment tracker for her soon. --Piemanmoo 05:17, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- Right. Penny says her last name is Logan, so I assume Connie's last name is also Logan; but, since we don't know whom her Dad was, I think we should wait for the tracker to confirm Connie's last name just in case it's different.--MiamiVolts (talk) 05:39, 20 May 2008 (EDT)

So many new powers
Okay, so we've got a guy who can emit nerve gas, another time/space manipulator, and some sort of skin sculptor. We may as well figure out names. My two cents says Nerve Gas Emission, Space-time manipulation and Facial reconstruction. The Croatian's weather control can go in with the middle school boy with deoxygenation. --Piemanmoo 05:17, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- We only have pages for powers/abilities that are demonstrated, so except for "face morphing" (that's what it was called before you posted here), the names only go on list of evolved humans. Morphing is a more accurate name than reconstruction, though, Connie actually cleans off a face whole and morphs it into something new; she could literally wipe the mouth and nose off someone so they die of not breathing...you can't do that with the face reconstruction a plastic surgeon performs. The other names used come directly from the novel. Since Bob only mentions their target teleports, we only use "teleportation" to describe the ability. --MiamiVolts (talk) 05:31, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- Judging by the CLql99dt on the guy's gun, it won't be long before the assignment tracker is updated with Connie Logan's information. Let's leave it until then? --Ciwey 06:22, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- I left it as Connie's ability in the summary I just wrote. Some things to note as I think Connie's ability cannot be restricted to just the face:

1) When Penny returns from Manhattan she has black hair in the shower, then light brown when talking to Thompson, Jr.
And when Penny is transformed to look like the teleporter's girlfriend:
2) Penny's black eyes become blue
3) Penny's hair becomes a light blonde
4) Penny's nails become longer
Granted, she could have applied a wig, contacts and stick-on nails but that isn't shown.--MiamiVolts (talk) 08:53, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- Hmm, I just assumed the shower scene implied that she was washing off hair dye or something. --Ciwey 09:55, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
Nerve Gas Emission
Miami volts states above, "We only have pages for powers/abilities that are demonstrated, so except for "face morphing" (that's what it was called before you posted here), the names only go on list of evolved humans.". However, Nerve Gas Emission is a demonstrated ability. The Graphic novel clearly states that "when the Manhattan target sweats, he emits nerve gas" . In the first scene of the GN where he is identified as Penny is about to taser him, he is clearly seen sweating. Therefore, he is sweating nerve gas. Luckily Penny zapped him before he sweated enough to take out the busy sidewalk. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 05/20/2008 11:37 (EST)
- If he was emitting nerve gas, those people in the crowd would be dead. No one died or even passed out. Note that it doesn't say he sweats the gas... all we know is that Penny's records from the Company say that he emits the gas. Until we've see some sort of effect, we've never added articles for abilities... otherwise we'd have articles for a number of people on the list.--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:43, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- The GN says, quote: "When he gets nervous he sweats. when he sweats, he emits a nerve gas". We can see him sweating in the frame just prior to her knocking him unconscious. Therefore, the amount of nerve gas emitted, (since the crowd wasn't leveled), must have been small and inconsequetial; thanks to Penny. However, the GN explicitly states, "when he sweats, he emits a nerve gas"; and we have a picture of him sweating....power demonstrated; albeit not in a grandeous and fully presented fashion. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 05/20/2008 11:46 (EST)
- The thing is, HDS, is my understanding is that it doesn't matter what the novel says, only what it shows--so we can't accept sweating as proof of a release of nerve gas. Text only matters for an ability like Hana's where her ability is to produce text. If it said, "when he sweats, a star goes supernova" and he sweats and we don't see anything happen, we still can't add it as it isn't demonstrated.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:00, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- Yes you can, because nerve gas, is a liquid at room temperature, aka sweat, not a gas. It is demonstrated. We can see two drops of liquid nerve gas running down his cheek before she zaps him. Please read the Wiki main-page article cited here, that states it is liquid not gas. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 05/20/2008 12:07 (EST)
- I've replied on Talk:Nerve gas emission (going to limit my comments about this to there for now). Also of note, Ryan's asking the writer Mark Sable for an interview and you can add questions below. Thanks again, Ryan!--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:27, 20 May 2008 (EDT)

Easter Egg
Isn't it Rachel Kimsey, the new look of Candice in the jungleshack with Sylar, from Kindred? Martijnvs 06:03, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- Yes, that's what the easter egg appears to be.--MiamiVolts (talk) 07:20, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
Code on the Gun
Anyone else notice that? When the 'porter's talking to his 'girlfriend' there's a code on his gun, probably for the next tracker profile we'll get from eves. --PeterDawson 11:08, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- Yeah, this one wasn't too well hidden. --Piemanmoo 15:31, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
Questions for Mark
Any quick questions for Mark Sable? Ask away! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:15, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- General questions:
- Is the nerve gas guy actually emitting nerve gas, or just sweating?
- Who is meant to be in the shower? --Rbfskywalker 16:57, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- Another way to say that: After bagging the man in Manhattan, is that supposed to be Penny in the shower with the black hair? After the shower, she has light brown hair. Did the shower wash out black hair coloring from her hair or is that supposed to be an example of Penny reverting to her normal self?
- Is the teleporter meant to look like Santiago from Create Your Hero? Is there any connection we should be getting from the fact that they wear t-shirts of similar design?
- Is the guy just a teleporter or does he have access to all the stuff Hiro can do with Time-Space Manipulation? --PeterDawson 19:45, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
- Some questions about Connie's ability:
- Are Penny's and Connie's natural appearance the result of repeated use of Connie's ability or is their current normal appearance the original way they looked?
- Can Connie morph a person to the opposite gender? and to a different skin color? Could she give a person animal parts or vice versa? ie. could she give Mr. Muggles a voice box such that the Company could communicate with him?
- What made you decide to make Connie's ability a physical one, rather than a mental one like Candice's?--Piemanmoo 22:26, 21 May 2008 (EDT)
- Followup Blackout questions - If you don't mind answering more questions, several of us other Heroes Wiki users helped to supply some that went unasked/unanswered in the Blackout interview. They were posted to Jason's blog, but he hasn't answered them:
- Is there a specific time when Blackout occurs? Is it days, weeks or months after Nov 8th, 2006?
- Does the Primatech agent actually fire or just point his gun? The gun is blurry when he is pointing it. I can't tell if that's supposed to be it going off.
- What brand of rental car was Mohinder using? And is Mohinder now stuck in the middle of nowhere or does the car have OnStar?
- Lastly, inquiring minds want to know if the agent from Walls could be father, brother or close-cousin to this electricity-absorbing teenager?
- I sent Mark the questions tonight. I didn't send the Blackout questions because I wanted to focus on one thing. However, I did ask him what he thought of maybe turning these questions, some questions following Faces, Part 2, and perhaps some other questions, into a mini interview... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:27, 22 May 2008 (EDT)
- That's great, Ryan! I re-listed the Blackout questions mainly cause I thought you'd think you didn't have enough to send him.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:38, 22 May 2008 (EDT)
- Thanks for looking out for me...Since this is a cold email (we hadn't previously agreed on doing an interview), I'd rather start soft and perhaps later get into the nitty gritty... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:51, 22 May 2008 (EDT)
