Notes and review
Awesome novel. Kudos to Grigsby for writing in all that action, and in multiple settings. I can see why Badower wanted it, Australia + action, and he did a great job drawing and coloring it. :) Too bad, though, that we don't know what ability the target had, if any at all. He could have been cloned by Dr. Strauss, for all we know. Maybe we'll find out in part 2. It's interesting that this is labeled as only being a 2-parter. I thought it was going to be 3 parts...Maybe part 3 was renamed? BTW, this novel has a subtitle: The Big Bag and Tag.--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:48, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- They said duplicates, not clones. Looks like Evan's power has made a comeback. We also learned Devin's last name, and his evolved human partner, Bianca. All she did was a kick, so I don't know if she even demonstrated her powers. Also, Julien lying to the Company about sensing his third duplicate leads me to belive that he, or rather one of him, might be Evs.--Piemanmoo 04:26, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- Though possible, I think it's too early to say the duplicates are copies of Julien. I took the branch/root thing just to mean that Julien acted as the root, coordinating the efforts of multiple teams out on assignment (branches) from HQ. As for what duplicate means, cloning is a way to achieve duplicates, so I don't think just seeing them is confirmation of an ability being used, as much as I would like it to be.--MiamiVolts (talk) 04:35, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- I can see what you mean there. The fact that Julien and Sabine are partners and he said he could sense them means that she probably knows enough about his ability to know when he's lying. You wouldn't be able to sense clones, but replicants? Possibly. I think that infers that its a power, and though you're right that it's better not to jump the gun on things, I think it would be the most accurate to list them as replication for now. --Piemanmoo 04:40, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- Possibly is not confirmation, so please don't add it there till we have confirmation. Julien could very well have a clairvoyance-like ability like Molly's to know where people are, and not replication. In fact, that's what I was thinking his ability was as he looks to be Native-American (though looks can be deceiving) so a tracking ability makes sense. A tracking ability would also help with his work coordinating agent teams on the bag and tag.--MiamiVolts (talk) 04:49, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- i think he has duplication hability as it is clearly understood in the novel, the one duplicate down... is dead but i also think that he replicated once just before jumping and after going out that crappy house, that's why he still "senses" number 3, the dead one was a decoil --cookie 13:25, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- interesting ideas. I think Julien's power is replication that would explain who he "senses" target 3. if u look on the last page 2nd panel u can see all of the duplicates staring at him and he looks very similar. maybe he was a criminal who duplicated himself to commit crimes and now that he's with the company is trying to fix his mistakes by capturing them. however, his power could be either clairvoyance or some new form of power sensing (kinda like how Linda Tavara could "see" people's auras maybe he can see auras of evolved humans), #3 could've been a decoy. will clones have the ability to clone themselves too?
- Ok, the novel's been updated...it now shows as part 1 of 3. As for the mystery poster's comments... see Theory:Julien Dumont for further debate on this subject. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:21, 3 June 2008 (EDT)

pages for the duplicates
Should we really make a new page for each of the three duplicates? I'm in favor of just putting them all on the same page as julien, since they're techinaly the same character. Plus anything on their pages can go on his too. --Piemanmoo 04:36, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- Read above for my explanation; nowhere does it say they are copies of Julien. We can add a group page for the duplicates, but the individuals still need their own pages. See how we did D.L.'s gang for an example.--MiamiVolts (talk) 04:38, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- Yeah, but DL's gang was more than one person. Assuming that they are replicants of Julien, I think we should stick them on one page. If you'd rather wait until confirmation from part 2, thats fine. We can put the three on seperate pages. But if we find out they're all the same person, let's combine them again. --Piemanmoo 04:43, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- Agreed. Lets split them for now. When we learn the identity of who they are duplicates of, we can combine them.--MiamiVolts (talk) 04:52, 3 June 2008 (EDT)

- I'd be in favor of a single page for the duplicates. If not then I'd just suggest something like "Rogue Duplicate One", "Rogue Duplicate Two", etc. or "Rogue Duplicate (I)", "Rogue Duplicate (II)" for the separate articles. (Admin 10:03, 3 June 2008 (EDT))
Sarmy References
- Where are they? I've seen one on a sign where it's "Lee Anne and the S Army", but where else? --DocM 12:07, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- There's a few others for specific members. On page 2, panel 2, is Nat and Noo Hotel. These are two members that got to hang out with Jason in London. On the next page in panel 2, my name, the mighty truk, appears on someone's jacket at the bar. On page 4, panel 4, you already noticed "Lee Anne and the S Army." There's also "Ashz Rules". Ashz22 is another member from 9th Wonders. It's really cool that Jason makes shoutouts to us fans like this. --Themightytruk 12:46, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
Nobody picked up on..
"The Root."? Julien Dumont. Also looks identical to the duplicates. The Root = The Beginning = The Original. How come noone's made any note of that? I bet that they're relying on his sensing it because they ARE his duplicates, and that's his ability.--Riddler 18:53, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- Scratch that, someone did point it out. But I think it's perfectly clear. Ah well. --Riddler 18:54, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- Yeah, it's a good theory. You can read the pros and cons about it at Theory:Julien Dumont.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:15, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
