Someone's anxious

Haha, you sure it's coming out later today? I know last week I noticed that two weeks ago it was on a Monday, then the next week it was a Tuesday, so I made sure to check back Tuesday just in case. :-D --Bob 05:41, 3 April 2007 (EDT)

  • It's up on NBC.com right now.--Hardvice (talk) 05:45, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Sneaky bastards hahah. Awesome, I'll help out.--Bob 05:48, 3 April 2007 (EDT)

Au Co's power

So, um, what should we call it? I commented on the Summary to maybe call it "botanical growth" or something of the sort. She's the original Miss Miracle Grow.--Bob 06:06, 3 April 2007 (EDT)

  • "Induced radicchio activity"? "Rapid cellulose regeneration"? "Spice-thyme manipulation"? Howabout "Accelerated fecundity" or "Plant control"?--Hardvice (talk) 06:08, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
    • As much as I would love to use "radicchio", I'd go with something simple like "plant control" or even something with the word "agricultural". — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:02, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
      • Yeah, that's why I threw in botanical since we don't know if she can grow/manipulate non-agricultural plants like...well, I'm no farmer, but you get what I'm saying.--Bob 07:09, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
        • As a parallel to our other -kinesis powers, maybe we could call it "florokinesis?" Heroe!(talk) 09:49, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
          • I have to say I'm leaning toward "Plant Control" at this point. It's pretty broad, but I'm not sure we'll find a term that's both specific and simple. --Ted C 12:06, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
  • Do we know enough about it yet to even give it a name? We don't know the scope of the power and we've only seen one example of it so far. To me it doesn't seem sufficiently demonstrated yet and would be safer as just a note until we know. If I recall it took us at least two issues with Hana demonstrating her power before we could reasonably name it. (Admin 12:22, 3 April 2007 (EDT))
    • We decided on Hana's power after Wireless, Part 2 came out, which is the first time it was demonstrated. Sure, there was a bit of talk about it for a few days, but we wrote the page before the next issue came out. We really don't know if we'll see any more of Au Co's power, but we certainly have some information about it: We know she raised her arms and plants grew where there were none. We can also note on her power page that Au Co, Vietnam is filled with what look like oversized crops. As for keeping her power just a note, I would think we need to have a page written for it, just as we have for each other power. If we need to rename it or redefine its limits later, that's fine. But something should be written this week. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:33, 3 April 2007 (EDT)

Jason was right

Good insight from Jason's blog Ryan, Jason was dead on with Austin/Linderman and Dallas/Someone-who-looks-like-they-could-be-Nathan's-dad.--Bob 06:17, 3 April 2007 (EDT)

  • Of all the artists, he's by far the best at likenesses. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:02, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
  • There was one particular shot of Austin in this graphic novel that I thought looked just like Malcolm in A Clockwork Orange. It was an entertaining clue. (Admin 14:44, 3 April 2007 (EDT))
    • I think this site has the examples: Heroes ARG. -Lөvөl 14:49, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
      • Plus, Jason is being so coy. He said on his blog that he did research -- he bought some movies, like Platoon, and another one that he "can't disclose". Hmmm. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:04, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
        • Yeah, the one shot that really struck me as him was this one. There's another shot where Dallas looks just like Adrian Pasdar, it's scary good.--Bob 01:54, 4 April 2007 (EDT)

C4 on a Skyhawk?

What was the C4 doing on a A-4 Skyhawk? That type of explosive must be hand set. The Skyhawk is a jet aircraft used for close air support missions. It would have been used to strafe or maybe napalm the town, but from it the crew would not have been able to use the C4. The only way for them to have been able to do that would have been to have the back-seater bail out by opening the canopy and jumping out (which is not a good thing to try in a jet) then approaching the village on foot with the c4...doesn't make a lot of sense. Where on this aircraft was the C4 supposed to be stored? In the trunk? Maybe in an under wing cargo tank, but that would have made it really hard to get to to use. Also if the VC were at the crash site, why didn't they take the C4 them selves? Just saying that a skyhawk full of C4 shows someone in the story department didn't do their job...Now maybe an OV-10 carrying a couple of Special Forces guys in the back...--ASEO 11:11, 3 April 2007 (EDT)

  • There's also two M16s. My guess is that's the gear they carried with them inland. Considering they're probably a special operations unit, it's not uncommon to carry C-4 just in case.--Bob 12:24, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Neither the C4 nor the M-16s were on the Skyhawk, they were on the outskirts of Au Co, Vietnam. Austin and Dallas seemed surprised to find them. The explosives were hidden under the foliage near the M-16s, and Dallas was talking about the villagers when he was referring tot he M-16s and looking at the C4. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:33, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
      • it says "With C4 explosives from the plane an 7 clips of ammunition between us..."--ASEO 14:06, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
        • Oh, yeah, that. :) Thanks, I overlooked it. Well, then the Skyhawk must have been carrying handheld explosives because there mission was to blow up the place manually. Or, it was just an overlooked piece of fluff from an executive assistant. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:18, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
          • Poor executive assistant. No way a Skyhawk crew was planting manually placing explosives, and if the explosives were to be dropped to a ground team in the area, a Skyhawk wouldn't have been the plane to do it. It is just all wrong. My wife won't watch military movies with me for this reason ;-)--ASEO 15:30, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
            • OHhhh, unless one of the Skyhawk crew had the power to manually plant the explosives from the plane...Maybe one of them was telekenetic, could extract the explosives from the underwing cargo tank, and place them individually around the village from the "safety" of the plane. ;-)--ASEO 15:30, 3 April 2007 (EDT)

Timm Keppler

--Hardvice (talk) 07:03, 3 April 2007 (EDT)

  • It seems like the production staff has been utilizing some of their assistants lately, eh? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:16, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
    • This is one of the cooler aspects of the way Tim Kring and folks seem to work. I love that they're giving their own staff a shot at cracking the business. I read that Joe Pokaski started out as an assistant on (I think) Crossing Jordan, and then of course there's Christopher Zatta getting a writing credit mid-season. It's nice to know that they're not just a great show, but from the sounds of things, a heck of a team.--Hardvice (talk) 02:29, 4 April 2007 (EDT)

Au Co's mother

First, we don't know it's her mother. Guardian at best. Second, I started to get a cap for her, but not only are there no really good closeup shots, she's not really doing anything. I mean, the most we would say about her is "The woman watches Au Co do her stuff, then calls for her when the place goes boom." In my opinion, there's not enough for an article...yet. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:18, 3 April 2007 (EDT)

  • Agreed. That's why I held back on making her since her only contribution is standing there and yelling Au Co's name.--Bob 14:37, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
