Anapora [1] or Anna Poora? --Pierre 07:20, 17 February 2009 (EST)

  • The captions definitely called her "Anna". I'm not sure about the rest. But the first part is definitely Anna. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:43, 17 February 2009 (EST)
    • My money, personally, is on Annapurna. Anna Poora- especially as it is now, with 'Poora' almost functioning as her last name- cannot possibly be correct. Given that she runs a bakery and that Annapurna is a name given to an aspect of the goddess of grains (Parvati), and the name itself means "generous with food" as she was shown to be with Ando, I think that's what we're looking for. I'm going to request a move for this page to that one. Annapurna meaning 1 [[2]] Annapurna meaning 2[[3]] Product Placement 13:41, 17 February 2009 (EST)
      • My TV's captions read "Annapura". Meh. Mike 17:26, 17 February 2009 (EST)
      • Sounds logical to me, PP. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:26, 17 February 2009 (EST)
        • That came off a little too harsh, sorry for that. Translated names are tricky so it could probably go either way, and I'm not too fussed where it ends up, as long as someone goes back and fixes "Building 26". :P Product Placement 20:35, 17 February 2009 (EST)
  • FYI I have a request in to NBC to try to find out the correct spelling of this character's name. (Admin 20:39, 17 February 2009 (EST))

Lesbian Relationship

It was strongly hinted at that she was in a lesbian relationship with the co-owner of the bakery who's name evades me. Did everyone pick it up this way or am I just a perv? Serojay 00:55, 18 February 2009 (EST)

Mira Shenoy

Would it have been that hard to twist this storyline a bit and make the character Mira Shenoy? I mean, it would add an awesome level of continuity and people like us would have loved it! A bit like Steve Gustavson in Under the Bridge, Part 1, but slightly more memorable. Any thoughts? -- Tristan0709 talk 03:11, 18 February 2009 (EST)

  • Mira lives in Madras and is a student, and Anapora lives in New Delhi and owns a bakery. These characters are totally different, which means the writers don't want to return Mira to the show. --Altes 13:00, 25 February 2009 (EST)

Mira Shenoy is not astudent, she is a geneticist.--Jmfdr 23:06, 8 September 2009 (EDT)

The Point

...What was the point in this story...i mean, other than to confirm that Hiro is still a hero, is it just a random red herring. Maybe theres more to her and she'll come back later. Like Molly Walker, she was kinda a red herring in the beginning, does anyone else feel this way?--Anthony Gooch 16:03, 24 February 2009 (EST)

  • I don't know if "red herring" (which is a narrative device used to mislead the audience) is the right term for her story. I think the Annapurna story was more of a vehicle for Hiro learning that he doesn't need powers to be a hero, and to test the limits of Ando and Hiro's friendship. I don't think we'll be seeing anybody in New Delhi again any time soon. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:22, 24 February 2009 (EST)
My personal take on the New Delhi segue was that they really wanted to use Annapurna's actor and deliberately constructed a scenario for her. No real evidence for that theory, mind you, it's just gut instinct. The New Delhi segment was definitely strange, most notably for not giving us a chance to see any familiar faces currently in India, such as Molly Walker, Mohinder's family, or even the hilariously negative guy who kept trailing Mohinder (am I the only one who misses him?) --Milbury 17:27, 24 February 2009 (EST)
      • I was thinking possible love interest for Ando or Hiro.--WarGrowlmon18 20:06, 24 February 2009 (EST)
        • She is the pointless character in Heroes ever. I´d like that she had a power or something. Or a love interest. Or a LGBT character. Or a Mohinder´s relative. Or anything.--Jmfdr 23:16, 8 September 2009 (EDT)
          • Don't give the writers the idea of a Mohinder relative, they find some lame way to bring Shanti back from the dead, age her and turn her into a villain, a la Isabelle Tyler from The 4400. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 16:39, 9 September 2009 (EDT)
