**** I reworded the intro to make it clear that it's not an official/canonical term, so now it doesn't really rub me the wrong way so much anymore. Does it look ok? (Admin 17:51, 19 May 2007 (EDT))

******* Actually, I think we should avoid using the phrase "anti-tracker alliance" entirely. It's not really a name for the group--it's just a description used as an article title, the same way "Convenience store robber" is used. I've reworded slightly again to de-emphasize 'anti-tracker alliance' as a term.--Hardvice (talk) 17:57, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
******** Looks better. It'll be important as we're creating group articles to note that the descriptive names we give them are not the actual names ... much like the descriptive names we give to characters, only more so. It's obvious that airport security agent is not her name. It's not as obvious with groups. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:58, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
******** I like the rewording. Yeah, my biggest concern was that the article felt like we were labeling them as the "anti-tracker alliance" when instead it should just be a name for the article. The reworded intro does help alleviate that. (Admin 18:02, 19 May 2007 (EDT))
*******I suggest that the name 'OWI' become the name of Bennet's new group including; himself, Mohinder, Matt, the Haitian and possibly still Hana in the mix. This is the 'New' Organization Without Initials if you will. I can see them coming together in many ways with Bennet calling all of the shots. I see this group being the starting point of the 'cattle rustling' operation we saw in '5 Years Gone' with Bennet hiding the specials. I feel there may be other members already as well.--Deasnuts 21:28, 14 October 2007 (EDT))

Name

  • Do they ever actually use the term "anti-tracker alliance?" (Admin 17:33, 19 May 2007 (EDT))
    • No, they don't use any name. That's why it's under Category:Unnamed Groups. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:40, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
      • ...and why it isn't capitalized.--Hardvice (talk) 17:42, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
        • It's never actually been called an alliance, the article is just about one arbitrary grouping of people where a large number of potential groupings could exist also without adding any actual value, and doesn't really add value beyond information presented in the character articles. To take it ad absurdum we could end up with articles on the "save the cheerleader, save the world alliance", the "Hiro and Ando alliance", etc. etc. (Admin 17:43, 19 May 2007 (EDT))
          • True. (On the other hand, having an article for Hiro and Ando together would make links easier ... I know I'm sick of typing "Hiro and Ando" :) ). This is a slightly more organized group, though. The fact that basically everyone in it dislikes and distrusts everybody else means they've made a conscious decision to band together, despite their differences. Hiro and Ando would be together even if they were still at Yamagato ... they're united by friendship, not by a common goal. To me at least, that's the only thing that makes this article work were some others wouldn't: a common, unifying goal. I don't think it's an essential group to identify, but I don't think it's completely arbitrary either.--Hardvice (talk) 17:51, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
        • I reworded the intro to make it clear that it's not an official/canonical term, so now it doesn't really rub me the wrong way so much anymore. Does it look ok? (Admin 17:51, 19 May 2007 (EDT))
          • Sure...except that they're not all evolved humans.--Hardvice (talk) 17:53, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
