After Betty's identity is confirmed, Betty should redirect to that character's page (or be a page about the character herself), and there should be a See Also at the bottom of the page with a link to Betty (disambig). In other words, it's okay to link to Betty to mean the character (not the graphic novel or anything else) since Betty will redirect to the character's page soon enough. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:34, 26 June 2007 (EDT)

  • On second though, we should probably go ahead and create a page for Betty, much like we did for Austin and Dallas. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:34, 26 June 2007 (EDT)

  • Just curious...where did you find the last name Pricher? --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 06/26/2007 11:43 (EST)
    • The red-head girl mentions her name in the top panel of pg. 5.--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:53, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
      • Actually, she says that Miss Pricher thinks the Homecoming theme is genius, and then she calls Pricher lame. Pricher is not necessarily Betty's last name. In fact, it sounds much more like it's a teacher's name. I'll change it back now.
        • Bah, I totally think she was still dissing Betty. Oh well, I'll add this on to the list of questions to ask Joe.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:06, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
          • That's fine, but Joe Kelly didn't write Betty, Part 1, he wrote It Takes a Village. I'll see what I can get from Joe Casey, though. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:09, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
            • While you're at it, you might want to ask if the name Betty was chosen to go along with the TV show Ugly Betty.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:13, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
              • Well, yeah, that's kind of the point of the name of the GN and the TV show. It's ironic because a "betty" is a term for an attractive female. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:19, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
                • In the case of Ugly Betty, I'm not sure the irony is intentional. It's based on Betty la fea, a Colombian telenovela I used to watch several years ago. I'm not sure how well the idiom "Betty" would translate into Spanish.--Hardvice (talk) 14:44, 26 June 2007 (EDT)

Move back to Candice

Ryan Odagawa says on his blog that Candice is Betty. That's good enough for me. Is anybody opposed to putting everything over on Candice's page? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:22, 26 June 2007 (EDT)

  • Me! hum, no. Let's do this as far as Ryan is part of TPTB :) -- Frenchflo.gif (talk) 12:46, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
    • Nope. It's pretty obvious that she's Candice. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 12:48, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
      • I agree it's obvious (she has the same power, and Candice's comments to Micah in How to Stop an Exploding Man hinted at quite a different-looking countenance). But the question is less about obviousness and more about spoilerness. They're definitely the same person, but is it a spoiler to have Betty redirect to Candice? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:25, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
      • Without the spoiler problem, we should discuss wether or not we will consider Betty and Candice as two different person (because Betty is a part of Candice but not Candice on a purelly psycological point of view) or if we should merge the two characters history as they are the same physical person! -- Frenchflo.gif (talk) 15:39, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
        • I don't think so. Looking around at forums and such, it seems most people have already caught on that she's Candice. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 15:50, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
          • I'd like to remind everyone about Austin and Dallas. It was pretty obvious from likeness, but we didn't merge/redirect until their names were revealed. I think we should do the same here, and keep it for the theories page.--Bob 15:52, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
            • I'm tending to agree, but the difference is that we never had any confirmation on Austin/Dallas until the graphic novel--plus, Dallas was a completely new, unseen character. Candice is well-known with a pretty identifiable power, and even part of her background is known already (I mean prior to Betty). We also have confirmation from the artist. It's similar to Austin/Dallas, but the difference is we have a spoiler. Do we treat it as a spoiler and not merge the two, or do we treat it as plenty of extenuating circumstances (including confirmation from a creator) and merge the two? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:45, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
  • I say we should keep Betty separate until she's undeniably confirmed to be Candice. --Ted C 16:39, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
