I've noticed that a few people on the NBC message boards that a few posters have said that Caitlin's last name is "McKenna". == What's the deal? ==
Did the writers just completely forget about Caitlin? Is there any, like, material at all that suggests that she'll return in some way? I agree, it really seems the writers dropped the ball with this one.  Peter seems to have completely forgotten about her, even despite his recent trip to the future.  Maybe we should change her page to say that she's the not so significant other of Peter.  The sloppiness really irks me, arent people, you know, getting PAID to keep track of this stuff?
:I know. I wasn't that big of a fan of Caitlin, but they just left her storyline so open-ended that it just bothers me. :/ <small>Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ]</small> 10:44, 25 October 2008 (EDT)
***The writers said about Caitlin and the virus storyline in a CBR interview: "The virus story was really the casualty of the strike. We retooled the last couple of minutes of the finale to Volume Two when we knew that the Strike was eminent. We changed the ending so that that virus never broke out. The second volume of Season Two was going to be an outbreak story that would have lasted eight episodes and it was all avoided by Peter Pertelli catching this vile of virus. So it did not break and therefore did not get out in to the community. So three episodes into that volume, we would have found out what happened to Caitlin. As we go forward, after the Writers Strike now, that has sort of become a lost part of the mythology of the show that may never return." --BloodyFox 09:45, 29 October 2008 (CEST)
*Well the way I see it, there are two possibilities of Caitlin's fate. One: She died from the virus, or Two: Because of the changed future, she no longer exists.  And Peter's a jerk for forgetting about her.  Oh well to late now.-- 20:04, 5 May 2009 (EDT)
Death?
Even if we're in 2008, we're now later in the year than the "outbreak future" Caitlin got trapped in.  It would seem she has been literally blinked out of existence, as she is now in a past that didn't happen.  Thoughts on having her date of death listed as something like "Unstuck in time"? --Ricard Desi (t,c) 18:00, 25 November 2009 (EST)
* We don't know the nature of her status, or if it's possible to bring her back. It certainly sounds logical...but I can also see the case being made for the writers being able to bring her back. Since the question of what happens to people "stuck" in alternate futures has never been explored, we ultimately don't know whether Caitlin is dead or alive. -- 20:14, 25 November 2009 (EST)

Thugs' Intent

  • Did anyone else get the impression that McSorley's son and his buddy intended to have their way with Caitlin or was it just my dirty mind jumping to conclusions?--NissanVersaDootDoot 15:32, 5 October 2007 (EDT)
    • Yeah, I kind of was worried what would happen if Peter wasn't there. Surly boys. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:49, 5 October 2007 (EDT)
      • Ditto. Probably not enough to consider her refrigerated (thankfully--do we really need to start every season by having most of our female characters sexually assaulted?), but they sure weren't there for a pint.--Hardvice (talk) 16:02, 5 October 2007 (EDT)
    • Unless it was part of a setup. From what little we've seen, Ricky appears to care about Caitlin's welfare, so abusing her as a part of getting Peter to help with a big heist is a reach. But something is rotten in the state of Denmark Dublin where ever the pub is. It still smells like something more is up at the Wandering Rocks than a grab job gone bad. I've smelled this elsewhere. -- FissionChips 16:37, 5 October 2007 (EDT)
      • A setup seems possible -- although that begs the question about how much they know about Peter's abilities. Could they have known about phasing or enhanced strength? Otherwise, how could they assume he'd escape from his chair? Hmmm...--Hardvice (talk) 16:39, 5 October 2007 (EDT)
      • Stated differently, they'd almost HAVE to know about his ability to mimic phasing or super-strength to know that he'd escape. that begs the question, "Who is stupid enough to torture and beat someone capable of splintering the chair they're strapped to?" but this facet definitely belongs on Theory:Ricky, not here.--NissanVersaDootDoot 16:58, 5 October 2007 (EDT)

Caitlin as source of Electricity?

The note about Petrified Lightning should probably not conjecture Caitlin as the source of Peter's electricity exposure. As discussed in the talk about Petrified Lightning, we didn't see Peter meet Caitlin until after Lightning was witnessed in the shipping container in Four Months Later. Caitlin herself gives an interpretation in the graphic novel, "or she showed him his own power." -- FissionChips 12:55, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

Will as blood relation?

Is Will really a blood relation or was Ricky showing the tattoo and using the term "brother" as he did later in the episode when Peter was getting the tattoo and was told that he was part of the "family"? -- FissionChips 13:25, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

  • The latter. Ricky says the same about Tuko, so if we're going to list Will, we ought to list Tuko, too.--Hardvice (talk) 14:49, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

    • Looking at Wikipedia's history, Caitlin's supposed last name was added on October 23 without explanation. (Ricky's name was amended to match about three hours later.) On October 25, it was marked as needing a citation, but that notice was removed on October 28, again, without explanation. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:31, 17 November 2007 (EST)
