  • This interview (when talking to Masi Oka) confirms that David Anders will be playing Takezo Kensei. --DocM 16:12, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
    • Not quite. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 16:13, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
      • Being that the role I know him for in Alias was a villain, I think he will play the dragon.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:20, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
        • Seriously? A dragon? If that happens, I will lose a lot of respect for this show. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 17:21, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
          • Not literally, but prediction is he'll be human and the head of a clan called the dragons. Also, he will be a multipower hero like Peter and Sylar, only he has the ability to transfer powers from one person to another (including himself). That would explain how the story could be partially based in fact.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:44, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
            • Where's the proof? For some reason, Ryan's now convinced he will play Kensai. Hmm.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:36, 17 July 2007 (EDT)
              • I have a feeling it's going to be a very complicated situation--like he's a guy named Kane who is posing as Kensei, or vice versa, or something that's kind of difficult to understand until we see it. (Try explaining Candice's aliases without explaining her power or giving any plot details away.) Tim Kring kind of hinted at that at the Heroes World Tour press conference:

Like with everything on Heroes nothing is quite what it seems to be. So there is clearly some subterfuge going on there that has to be unearthed and dealt with. And that becomes a huge part of the story -- the reveal of who this character is.

In the end, the only source I could find that says Anders will be playing Kane was Kristin Veitch's blog, and she changed it to "Kensei" the next morning. (I saw both versions, but the comments on the blog still say "Kane".) Most other sources seem to stem from that. But even if Kane is a real character or whatever, we still have Tim Kring saying Anders will be playing Kensei. Masi Oka just told TV Guide the same thing (though almost every reference to Kensei is shrouded in mystery and a lot of "Kensei isn't what he seems" talk).

But if you want proof of the character he's playing, I can't give you that until the episode airs. What I can give you is tons of media coverage saying that Anders will be playing Kensei (Hollywood Reporter, The TV Remote, TV Guide, Entertainment Weekly, Yahoo! TV, etc.) You'll notice, however, I didn't delete Kane--it's still a possibility he's a character (or an alias (heh, Alias!), or a big ol' red herring), we just don't know anything about him. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:06, 18 July 2007 (EDT)

  • Tim Kring wasn't that specific on his blog, and from what I've read and seen, I'd rather leave it as just that he will be playing a samurai warrior--that part I believe. He could even end up being a Kensei, just not the "Takezo Kensei". Your call, though. I realize it's a difficult one.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:15, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
    • True Tim Kring wasn't specific. But all media reports have been quite specific about naming him Takezo Kensei. Since this is a spoiler page, we use media articles that print spoilers as our source. When it airs, we will use whatever name is in the credits. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:24, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
