The newest "challenge" at heroesthedvd is not really a challenge--it's code to change your MySpace page's skin to a Heroes themed skin. Whatever. Then you give them your email address for "an email with never-before-seen, exclusive Season 1 DVD content". Pretty cool, right? Wrong. All I got was a pretty lame picture of Peter and Claire. Oh well, maybe the next challenge will be promising. -- 21:59, 8 August 2007 (EDT)

I just read that the Season One DVD is already number six on Amazon's list of top selling DVDs. Cool. -- 00:08, 13 August 2007 (EDT)

Revision as of 23:08, 12 August 2007

Wasn't there going to be a feature that went through each character's story?--Bob 18:02, 19 May 2007 (EDT)

  • Yeah, but I can't remember where I read that. But yes, I remember somewhere it said that you will be able to watch just scenes with Peter, or just scenes with, I don't know, Mr. Muggles. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:06, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
    • I think I remember hearing that was going to be HD-DVD only. And I want to say they first mentioned it at Wizard World.--Hardvice (talk) 18:19, 19 May 2007 (EDT)

Links?

  • Want feedback on this. Would it be inappropriate to include a line in the Notes section explaining that purchasing or pre-ordering the DVD set using the links at the bottom-left of the wiki will help support the wiki? (Admin 23:32, 19 May 2007 (EDT))
    • Ooh, good question. I'm prone to say that it's okay. I mean, technically this is a spoiler article, I guess, since the DVD actually hasn't come out yet, right? :) Yeah, anything goes. Why not put it in? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:11, 20 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Hmm, well I just saw on the page RGS posted a link for that ordering through a certain TV guide link gives you a savings of 40% for the non-HD dvd. Is that true and the wiki link give the same savings?--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:04, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
        • Both links are through Amazon, which is offering 30% off the HD version, and 35% off the regular DVD. If you use the link on this page, it helps support Heroes Wiki. You can still use TV Guide's promotional code (tvguide5) and get an extra 5% savings (which would be 35% off the HD DVD and 40% off the regular DVD. The same goes for any other promotional code you might find, though TV Guide's is the only one of which I'm aware. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:14, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
        • Yeah, that's kind of what I was hinting at... it'd be nice if Heroes Wiki could get the same or a similar promotional code.--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:22, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
          • We're not nearly as popular as TV Guide. :) But if their promo code works when using the links here, then all the better! (Admin 10:38, 14 July 2007 (EDT))

DVD Differences

I heard early on the HD-Version would have more stuff than the regular DVD, and only the HD_Version would have In His Own Image. Do we have a link that shows the differences between the two? --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 07/27/2007 22:00 (EST)

  • The HD version will have more...but as far as I understand it, everything listed here will be on both versions. Check out this article for more on the HD version. I don't know if it's what you're looking for, but it's a good read with good info. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:09, 27 July 2007 (EDT)
    • Even on the official site, the "Bonus Features" tab lists pretty much everything (just looking at a glance, I haven't gone through in depth), whereas the "HD DVD" tab lists just a few extra (very cool) features: Character Connections, Helix Revealed, Picture In Picture, Artwork Presentation, Web Enabled Genetic Abilities Test. Again, I haven't gone through it in depth, but it seems like the regular version will be pretty loaded. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:13, 27 July 2007 (EDT)

DVD Challenge

The newest "challenge" at heroesthedvd is not really a challenge--it's code to change your MySpace page's skin to a Heroes themed skin. Whatever. Then you give them your email address for "an email with never-before-seen, exclusive Season 1 DVD content". Pretty cool, right? Wrong. All I got was a pretty lame picture of Peter and Claire. Oh well, maybe the next challenge will be promising. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:59, 8 August 2007 (EDT)
