Matthew vs. Matt Parkman, Jr.

There's no evidence that the Matthew of the future is the same as Matt Parkman, Jr. There's a reason Matthew doesn't have a last name, and that's because we don't know it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:16, 1 March 2009 (EST)

  • If someone wants the non-spoiler article for "Matt Parkman, Jr.", they're obviously looking for Matthew. - Josh (talk/contribs) 21:49, 1 March 2009 (EST)
    • We don't have a non-spoiler article about Matt Parkman, Jr. and we never have. Nor should we assume that Matthew's last name is Parkman or that he is a "Jr." -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:01, 1 March 2009 (EST)
      • It's not an assumption. It's a name a fan might use to refer to him. - Josh (talk/contribs) 22:05, 1 March 2009 (EST)
        • That might mean that we could make that a redirect, but not the article title. While it's probably right to assume that this baby is named after his father, there is no evidence in the show yet that he IS Matt Parkman's son. Even if he was, there's no evidence to say that he IS "Jr.". Jr., isn't always at the end of a similar name. For example, my name is Robert Ryan Smith (last name changed just in case there's a rule for it.) My father is Robert William Smith Jr. His father is Robert William Smith Sr. I am not a third (III) because my middle name is different. - This article should be titled Matt Parkman (II) or (baby) or something else.--Riddler 22:58, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
          • Opinions?--Riddler 21:08, 12 March 2009 (EDT)
  • Baby Matt IS Matthew from explosion future. The proof is that Janice was pregnant. It doesn't matter who the father is. Janice's baby is born. And you understand that nothing suggests that Janice was pregnant twice, thus giving birth to another baby.--Altes 05:56, 22 March 2009 (EDT)

Not a Parkman?

You know, if you think that baby Matt and Matthew from explosion future aren't the same person, I have another question for you. How do we know Matt, Jr. is son of Matt and Janice? Maybe he was born to another Parkmans. Maybe to Matt, Sr.'s cousins. How do we know?--Altes 11:29, 22 March 2009 (EDT)

    • I agree, it is speculatory to say he is in fact any relation of Janice or Matt, unless it is stated somewhere, but since the next episode will be shown tomorrow, there isn't much point in changing it unless the episode states something else, as it has been like this for the past two weeks. I just kept forgetting to say something lol. --posted by Laughingdevilboy

      • Hmm, new spoilers say that baby Matt is really son of Matt and Janice, and he has a power.--Altes 12:14, 23 March 2009 (EDT)

Timeline discrepancies

Can I get someone to calculate this? Janice revealed her pregnancy in October, 2006, according to the timeline. Quin and Reed Baron are 18 months old, so, presuming Matt, Jr. is the same age, and the timeline is in early April, 2007, he would have had to be born in October, 2005! Taken that the actors ages may tbe different from the characters, the pregnancy was revealed about seven months ago. Assuming the baby was....six months old?, Janice would have had to be nine months pregnant when she first revealed she was pregnant! This doesn't make much sense to me, can someone please explain? -- Tristan0709 talk 03:57, 25 March 2009 (EDT)

  • Well let's face it, the continuity errors are just becoming more frequent. That or Matt Sr. has the new and amazing ability of super sperm. Note to self, make that page later.--Steely McBeam - (talk) 04:04, 25 March 2009 (EDT)

You say the Timeline is in early April, 2007, but how do you know this? Evidently, since Janice revealed her pregnancy in October 2006, the events of Cold Snap must take place at least 9 months after that; ie. July 2007. --Radicell 05:09, 25 March 2009 (EDT)

  • I was under the impression the title screen in 314 said Two Weeks Later: it's probably actually Two Months Later. Regardless, the present timeline would be late May, or, at most, early June. -- Tristan0709 talk 05:29, 25 March 2009 (EDT)
    • Could you specify when during the episode was this screentext seen? I must have missed it. If it really did display a message like that, we could finally sort out Timeline:Post-March 2007. --Radicell 06:34, 25 March 2009 (EDT)
      • I believe that the the "2 (or3) weeks later" note goes to the tidbit we saw at the Dual (end of volume 3) where Nathan is talking to the President....but A Clear and Present Danger happens nearly 2-3 months after the events of Dual, Tracy says something to the Govenor over the phone about the dates right before she is captured.--Anthony Gooch 07:17, 25 March 2009 (EDT)
        • Anthony's right. During the Tracy scene in 314, she says she hasn't spoken to Nathan in two months. I believed there was text, but apparently not. Her quote is "close to two months". -- Tristan0709 talk 01:29, 26 March 2009 (EDT)

Activating AND Deactivating?

I have the episode recorded via DVR, but after watching it again, I never saw a moment where the baby turned something OFF. Only turned it on. If this is true, shouldn't his ability just be called 'Activation'?

And if he CAN deactivate things, then he can just deactivate everyone's ability, rendering the show plotless. LimaBean 20:30, 25 March 2009 (EDT)

  • Except that first of all, he's an infant. He can't even begin to understand the totality of the world he's in or analyze the consequences. He's a blank slate. Secondly, he would probably only deactivate the abilities of villians. However, he is clearly in no position to do anything like that. --Barbedknives 19:33, 25 March 2009
    • Baby Matt turned off the television. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:07, 25 March 2009 (EDT)
      • I agree and completely understand that he can most likely deactivate powers. In fact I'm the one who submitted the theory. I'm just saying that I don't think Baby Matt will be come this all powerful threat and start negating powers. Although it would be quite hilarious to see Matt go on a crawling spree and totally pwn Sylar. I'd imagine it would be quite humiliating for him. --Barbedknives 20:11, 25 March 2009
        • He deactivated the TV on the scene after Hiro and Ando discovered he has powers. If you watch closely on the last part of the scene, he touched the TV again and it turned off.--NiveKJ13 (talk2me) 22:15, 27 March 2009 (EDT)
