could we not make this like a disambig page which could link to all of the character's memorable quotes pages. Right now it does seem quite "behind" and sometimes quite pointless, like why is Elisa Thayer there and Ted is there, but nothing from season 2 onwards. I think adam is the latest person (ie from season 2) and there is no-one from s4 or s5. this page does really annoy me. --[[User:Mc hammark|mc_hammark]] 15:39, 13 October 2009 (EDT)

Formatting

We may want to tighten the formatting into a table before we go much further with this. --Ted C 13:49, 14 May 2007 (EDT)

  • Yeah that's the first thing I thought when I came on this page. The formating is horrible. We need to create a table or something better than... this nothing :) This page is a fresh-born so I'm sure we will find a way soon! -- FrenchFlo (talk)        17:27, 14 May 2007 (EDT)
  • How about something like this? -- Lost Soul 10:28, 19 July 2007 (EDT)
  • I think the format looks good, but the gray color is blah--I'd replace it with another color, perhaps a green or blue. Plus, I would make the inside borders a dark black.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:07, 19 July 2007 (EDT)
  • I'm torn. I like that it's organized, and it looks really nice (though I wouldn't necessarily use any colors at all). On the other hand, using a table presents two problems for me. First, using table codes somewhat discourages new users from contributing. Second, it makes the page just a bit too...robotic. That's my opinion, but I'm not tied to it. In the end, I just think it's nice to have a page for all the quotes, regardless of how it's formatted. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:57, 19 July 2007 (EDT)
  • I get what you're saying, but this code isn't necessarily too difficult to navigate. Plus, if someone makes a mistake, we can change it back. I'm happy to edit this (colour-wise) to whatever everyone else wants, and if the community doesn't want the introduction of a table, that's cool too. :) I'm not gonna go forcing my opinion on anyone - after all, I am new here :D. I only did this because I was bored and because above they requested a possible change of formatting. So there we go. ;) -- Lost Soul 07:19, 20 July 2007 (EDT)
  • Like I said, I personally don't care one way or another--I have opinions on both sides of the fence. I don't think it would hurt to try it out and see what comes of it...though I would use a template with optional colors, so we could either have no colors if we wanted, or change all the colors easily, or possibly even have the option to do a separate color for each character. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:31, 20 July 2007 (EDT)

Great idea

This page will be a godsend for cleaning up quotes-laden articles. Well done. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:47, 14 May 2007 (EDT)

Hiros line in Five Years Gone

I don't know it but I think it was somewhere around the lines of "I don't want to talk to me, I scare me." or something. I thought that line was priceless. also where are the Grundy quotes, I mean these last few episodes have great Matt quotes. Random guy 20:02, 10 November 2007 (EST)

Elle is used twice

I was browsing this page and I noticed that Elle Bishop is used twice. First the third one down, and then the last one on the page.--Flyingman petrelli 16:09, 22 November 2007 (EST)

  • I'll fix it.--Ice Vision 21:06, 22 November 2007 (EST)
    • That was probaly due to whoever added that, adding a whole new section instead of just adding Bishop to the end of Elle. --  Seclusion  talk / contribs 23:10, 22 November 2007 (EST)

Automation?

Is there any way that we can automatically take the memorable quotes from the character's page and put them on here, so that every time one is added to the character page, it automatically gets added here? That would stop this page from getting out of control, as it often does. Sorry for the really awful expression of what I mean; ask if you need clarification.--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  08:08, 13 January 2008 (EST)

  • Yes, it's possible, but how many quotes from each character would we take? All of them? Three of them? The length of some quotes is rather long, and other rather short... it also may be better to leave this as a static page as some of the older quotes that are no longer in the character pages can be archived here.--MiamiVolts (talk) 10:53, 13 January 2008 (EST)
    • Ugh. Must we automate everything? --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 10:56, 13 January 2008 (EST)
      • "Automate" might not be the right word. A way to do it would be to transclude the character's page here, including only the quotes we want to have show up on this page--this is how we get only part of the episode pages to show up on the front page. But there are some problems with that method: some sections on this page draw quotes from different pages (Peter's section could conceivably take quotes from Peter Petrelli, Peter's dreams, Peter Petrelli (explosion future), empathic mimicry, etc.), and there's not guarantee that contributors will add new quotes inside the includeonly tags. I agree with Miami, this page is better left as it is right now. Because we don't have any hard and fast rules about quotes (nor should we necessarily--guidelines maybe, but not rules), perhaps informally checking the character pages and trimming as needed seems like the best way to go. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:05, 13 January 2008 (EST)
      • More to the point: isn't the point of this article that it contains quotes which aren't on other pages? Its original purpose was to act as overflow for when people stick sixteen quotes on an episode or eight quotes on a character page, so most of these quotes should be unique to this page. I don't think it needs to be exhaustive. If a quote appears on the character's page but not here, well, that's fine. If we wanted an exhaustive list of every Heroes quote ever, we'd post transcripts.--Hardvice (talk) 12:59, 13 January 2008 (EST)
        • I agree with you, Hardvice. As I previously stated, my thoughts are that this page can contain an archive of the older 'memorable quotes' from the character and episode pages.--MiamiVolts (talk) 13:15, 13 January 2008 (EST)
  • We could write up a template that would randomly transclude a set number of quotes from each character page or episode. --Pinkkeith 16:49, 29 July 2008 (EDT)

Split

I think that we need to split the page as it is the 8th biggest and if we do it by season it will be easier to read through as well.--Skywalkerrbf 10:00, 24 August 2008 (EDT)

  • That would mean template:MQ would have to be adjusted, as would every single page that uses that template, possibly. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:07, 24 August 2008 (EDT)
    • If there is no easy way to do such a thing then it isn't too big of a deal. but if it's not too far of a reach to split it up between seasons, I'm for more organization and less generalizing!--Pbmarcano 19:16, 13 October 2008 (EDT)
  • You could set up the template so that it would only show a select number of quotes. It would do this on both this page and the character page as well. Yet, you also could add some script so that it would show all of the quotes on a character's sub page, for example, [[Sylar/Memorable Quotes]]. --Pinkkeith 12:30, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
    • Why not split it to Characters A - H, G - M, M - Z?--IotV 22.43, 8 January 2009 (GMT)

Sylar

aww man you guys forgot Sylars best line..."cake?"...i forget which episode its from...i cant believe you guys actually forgot that line...

Deletion

Now we have the big new quotes section, should we delete this and add the quotes from people like Audrey Hanson and other people to a page Other/Memorable Quotes --IronyUTC CH 16:05, 14 March 2009 (EDT)

  • I don't think we should delete this, but I do think we can remove quotes from people who have their own quotes pages. Then links to those individual pages could be put at the bottom in a See Also section or in a navbar. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:11, 14 March 2009 (EDT)
