I'm putting this out there as a means of starting a discussion before starting any kind of edit war...So Linderman says to Nathan that Mr. Petrelli was "one of us" and "a man of great power". Is he evolved? My take on it is yes, he probably is, but it's not really confirmed yet. I'm not sure I want to take the word of another character on this one -- especially Mr. Linderman, who is manipulative and not always trustworthy. Besides, "one of us" and "a man of great power" (or "with great power", I forget) is not necessarily the same as being an evolved human with powers. It should, of course, go in his history and notes, but I'm not quite ready to say he's evolved. * When I heard that, my thought on it was an intentional allusion to him being evolved, but the way it was delivered by Malcolm had a hint in it that he just meant in cahoots with Linderman, Angela and the group of "friends" who tried to save the world before. So, I'm for not making leaps of faith at this. We probably won't find out anything until next season about Mr. Petrelli.--Bob 08:11, 15 May 2007 (EDT)

**Right, I wouldn't doubt that the guy actually is evolved (heck, he's got a granddaughter who can heal herself, a kid who can fly, and another kid who can, well, do almost anything), I just don't think it's really confirmed yet. Good thoughts about him being in cahoots. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:40, 15 May 2007 (EDT)

Cause of Death

  • Given the events surrounding his death (the DA's case; Linderman's goons, Nathan presumes, causing a car crash), is it safe to take the reported cause of death as truth? Especially given the ambiguous nature of Linderman, the reported lies covering up previous suicide attempts, and (it seems to me) that Nathan dropped the Linderman case after his father's death? I am wary of this assumption until we learn more of Linderman's organization. (Jared 1715, 29 November 2006)
    • I agree that it's quite likely that Linderman was involved in his death. I think it's okay to say that Angela and Nathan say he died of either a heart attack or suicide, because that's what they say, but we should probably shy away from definitively stating his cause of death ourselves. It'd be better to say Angela and Nathan believe he committed suicide and tell Peter he had a heart attack. Good catch.--Hardvice (talk) 17:38, 29 November 2006 (EST)

Speculative oddity

If Mr. Petrelli ends up being one of the characters from the War Buddies novels, we're going to have an odd problem of having an episodic character with a graphic novel picture. Not a big deal, just weird. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:00, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

Well, looks like we have it. I wonder if Adrian Pasdar will also play his dad, perhaps with some prosthetics. --Xmuskrat 20:33, 9 April 2007 (EDT)
Well, I don't think he's alive. There's an interview where Adrian talks about Mr. Petrelli being dead. But I could be wrong, we've seen some strange things on this show.--Bob 20:45, 9 April 2007 (EDT)
Personally, I was thinking in the past. Maybe in the second season they'll flashback and show a young Mr. P, Linderman, and Claude and the group they used to have. --Xmuskrat 20:46, 9 April 2007 (EDT)
Jason Badower makes a great point -- the War Buddies series is perfect for the comics because how else are you going to tell that story? Have Malcolm McDowell wearing prosthetics trying to look younger? I don't think we'll ever see a live Papa Petrelli. If they didn't have an actor play him in Six Months Ago when he was actually alive, I don't think they'll ever have anybody play him. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:29, 10 April 2007 (EDT)

Unseen

Having appeared in four graphic novels, does Mr. Petrelli qualify as an "unseen character" anymore? I'm taking off that categorization. --Ted C 17:33, 9 April 2007 (EDT)

Depression

So Angela tells us he was diagnosed with depression when he was 23...sound about the age that he would have been when he was discharged? --Bob 18:44, 9 April 2007 (EDT)

Date of death

Why is Mr. Petrelli's death date speculative? I'm not debating, I just don't understand. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:06, 23 April 2007 (EDT)

To be evolved or not to be evolved

Other thoughts? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:05, 15 May 2007 (EDT)
