* I guess one-punch knockout would be generally more correct since it clears up the ambiguity regarding which noun one is modifying, though I doubt there would be many people thinking this article is about a single "punch knockout" ;) --[[User:Frantik|Frantik]] ([[User talk:Frantik|Talk]]) 01:06, 17 March 2007 (EDT)

punches vs one punch knockouts

I was thinking we should limit the occurrences to instances when there is a knockout; Like when Matt punches that guy for sleeping with his wife, he doesn't get knocked out, so it shouldn't be included. I mostly had in mind the unrealistic punches like where Hope punches Hiro and then she's able to move him around. Where the writers use it as a convenient way to have the person subdued instantly basically :D --Frantik (Talk) 09:03, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

  • I think Matt punching Tom fits into that category, even if he wasn't knocked unconscious. He was still subdued. I think it's fine. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:05, 15 March 2007 (EDT)
  • Most of these are not knockouts and thus do not belong under this heading.--ASEO 10:54, 15 March 2007 (EDT)
    • I tend to agree. Maybe we could list them here as other one-punch confrontations, for the sake of completeness. It seems to me that Matt (and Tom) are incapacitated by the other officers, not by the "fight". Peter gets one punch in on Nathan in OGL, but it's Nathan's bodyguards who do the incapacitating. These fit the pattern of one-punch fights, but neither is really a "knockout".--Hardvice (talk) 12:25, 15 March 2007 (EDT)
    • OK, I separated off "other one-punch fights" from the main list of strictly knockouts. I also removed a few (Micah's fight and DL/Jessica's fight) that are neither one-punch nor knockouts.--Hardvice (talk) 12:31, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

Gallery

This article definitly needs a gallery of punches ! I can't upload images because they all are watermarked on my computer.. --FrenchFlo(talk)(contribs) 12:21, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

  • I agree. But you can upload the pics and we'll take the watermarks off them for you. Or you can use the screencaps request page. Unfortunately, I looked for some caps, and many of the punches happen so quickly that it's just a blur. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:39, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

Name of article

Is it "one punch knockout" or "one-punch knockout"? I tend to lean towards the latter. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:43, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

  • I guess one-punch knockout would be generally more correct since it clears up the ambiguity regarding which noun one is modifying, though I doubt there would be many people thinking this article is about a single "punch knockout" ;) --Frantik (Talk) 01:06, 17 March 2007 (EDT)
