Who's Roy

  • Who's Roy? --Janrodrigo 09:47, 22 September 2009 (EDT)
      • Lol... Roy's got nothing to do with the carnival, he's the Parkmans' water deliverer. :) --Radicell 09:59, 22 September 2009 (EDT)

Carnival Sign

I found a picture of the sign should this be used in the box? Here -Yippee ki ya 16:24, 22 September 2009 (EDT)

  • I like it! -Vampirate68 | Talk | Contribs | 19:13, 22 September 2009 (EDT)
    • I agree, I like it too. I re-uploaded the image to standard size. Maybe others will agree on the picture as well.--Catalyst · Talk · HL 19:19, 22 September 2009 (EDT)

Jennie, Gail, Chris, Callum, Sabine and her baby

Rachel Mills sees them all at a carnival at the end of chapter 5 of faction zero. It is a 99.9% chance that it is this one, so can we add them, or do we have to wait for official conformation that they are the same carnival?--Ratclaws 19:04, 25 September 2009 (EDT)

  • Check out this page of Faction Zero. The photo that was added is of the Sullivan Bros. Carnival, I think. That's good enough for me! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:17, 25 September 2009 (EDT)
    • Huh, I didn't read chapter 6 of faction zero cause I thought there was nothing new. I just checked that out though, and they added a new little thing with the firebreathers noticing Rachel. I will add that to their pages now.--Ratclaws 23:27, 25 September 2009 (EDT)

Similarities In Shows

I was looking for images of the carnival and the carnies, and found something interesting. If anyone has heard of the Nickelodeon cartoon, "Danny Phantom" (teenage ghost who fights other ghosts), there was apparently an episode with a carnival, and its carnies were ghosts (super powered carnies). There was one ghost, a lady with tattoos with a red cloak (sound familiar?). They don't have the same powers and all and have a lot of differences, but I just thought this was a weird coincidence in my search.--Catalyst · Talk · HL 23:19, 27 September 2009 (EDT)

  • That is cool! My little brother used to watch that show all the time! ~~IHHTalk 07:01, 28 September 2009 (EDT)

The Company

Any ideas how the carnival managed to hide from the Company so many years? Because it has a lot of dangerous EHs to bag and tag, or maybe even lock them up. AltesUTC CH

  • Probably the same way they hid from the police chasing Sylar in the last episode, there's allot of people there with abilities who knows what they are all capable of. -- Jenx222 · U · T · C 11:26, 14 October 2009 (EDT)
    • Yes, and the Company had a lot of powerful EHs too. Maybe Joseph was hiding the carnival? AltesUTC CH
      • Could have done, that may be why they are out in the open now, because Joseph is no longer around to protect and hide the carnival, who knows what sort of ability he could have had, maybe more than one? -- Jenx222 · U · T · C 11:38, 14 October 2009 (EDT)

Any ideas on how it moves around?

Originally, I'd assumed that someone in the carnival was simply using Illusion to hide it (for example, from the police in Hysterical Blindness). Yet in Strange Attractors Samuel and Tracy are actually brought to the carnival itself from elsewhere, because we see Sylar in the background. Space-Time Manipulation might be the most plausible to answer to how this occurs, but we know Arnold is old and dying. I doubt very much he'd be able to move that much matter around repeatedly as has been shown to occur, especially as in Orientation Samuel claims it will be the last time he asks the old man to use his ability. Since Samuel's obviously been teleporting since then, and we know there isn't another teleporter in the carnivel (otherwise Samuel would not need Hiro as a replacement, right?) it can't be Arnold. Anyone have any other theories? Swm 12:05, 28 October 2009 (EDT)

  • Maybe there's a "magic" item like the compass. Kimera757 19:45, 30 October 2009 (EDT)
    • Synch on 9th Wonders posted a theory there I like... that the Carnival doesn't actually move around that much, but rather that there is a network of portals/wormholes to and from the Carnival that can be found using one of the compasses. It would explain why Samuel and Tracy did the spinning effect when they went to the Carnival. However, it's just a theory.--MiamiVolts (talk) 21:31, 30 October 2009 (EDT)
      • Maybe Stephen Canfield is alive then, and has learned to control the destination of his wormholes!!! --mc_hammark 06:37, 31 October 2009 (EDT)
        • Sorry to burst your little bubble, but I really think Stephen Canfield is gone. End of story. They are never going to bring him back or talk about him again. My theory is that Samuel is moving it, since he is the leader and is getting very powerful. They also are gypsy/carnies and move around the nonspecial way. (aka walking)--Dance4thedead 13:27, 6 February 2010 (EST)
          • Could you not tell it was sarcasm. I too think Canefield is dead, but it won't be Samuel moving them. --mc_hammark 13:30, 6 February 2010 (EST)

Theories

How about making one theory page for the carnival and put there all theories about Damien, Mrs. Comey, Teddy etc. instead of just having many theory pages with one or two theories? AltesUTC CH

A note

I somehow was tricked into watching The Notebook the other day, and about 5 or so minutes in, there is a poster in the background advertisind a "Sullivan Brother's Carnival." Perhaps some carnie has the ability to transport the carnival between realms of exsistence? Haha jk. -- Psilaq R.- \m/ -_- \m/- 16:04, 30 October 2009 (EDT)

Twitter

Oliver Grigsby recently pointed out that the Carnival has a twitter account. Should it be mentioned in the page?

Possible Idea for Arnold's Carnival Job:)

I've been thinking a lot about the carnival and the people who live there. Each of them have jobs that go with their abilities.

And I'm pretty sure that Mrs. Comey would be the carnival's cook! Now I have been thinking long and hard about Arnold and what his job could be and I think I have found the answer.... THE MAGICIAN! Like Hiro did in Tabula Rasa, Arnold can use his power to do "magic". Any thinkers?

  • Maybe's Arnold's job was to fix things if an act goes bad. Like if Edgar tosses a knife, misses, and hits Lydia in the head, Arnold goes back in time to stop that from happening.--Gibbeynator 13:43, 22 January 2010 (EST)

The Watcher and Amanda

I think that The Watcher needs to be moved to the visitors category because several times in the recent iStory people said he did not work there. And Amanda needs to be moved to the employees section. She has been compleatly brought into the "family", and Gail offered to Lydia to have Amanda join her family's act. Of course, this could all change next week for Amanda, but the Watcher for sure needs to be moved.--Ratclaws 17:58, 24 November 2009 (EST)

Acts

I know that we have a gallery at the bottom of the page showing a few of the attractions, but can we have a section of the page listing them all, since there are more than are just in the gallery. --mc_hammark 12:10, 2 December 2009 (EST)

  • I think that would be interesting and adds more depth. Plus we could explain how each evolve human uses their ability for the act. --OutbackZack 12:12, 2 December 2009 (EST)

Charlie

Can we assume Arnold brought her to the carnival before trapping her somewhere? Since Hiro found her name tag there... AltesUTC CH 07:32, 9 January 2010 (EST)

  • I'm not positive, but I think there may have been a flashback scene that showed Arnold and Charlie at the Carnival.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:45, 22 January 2010 (EST)
    • Didn't Hiro find Charlie's name tag at the carnival? Doesn't that sort of prove that Arnold brought her there before sending her into the timestream?--Gibbeynator 19:24, 22 January 2010 (EST)
      • No, all that proves is that the tag was at the carnival. This is one of the situations where I like to bring in a little story to help:
Three men from England were travelling from England into Scotland for the very first time. They were travelling on a train. After they crossed the border, they passed a cow. The first man said, "By gosh, the cows in Scotland are brown!" The second man says "Wrong, there is at least one cow in scotland which is brown." Then the third man says "You are both wrong, there is at least one cow in scotland of which half is brown."

Actually, come to thing of it, that's probably just complicated things... but the point is, we can't say she's been at the carnival... Arnold could have just as easily taken her badge off her and taken it to the carnival. --mc_hammark 19:32, 22 January 2010 (EST)

The Greatest Show Unearthed

Am I the only one who thinks of this song when they think of the Carnival?--Gibbeynator 13:44, 22 January 2010 (EST)

  • Nope :) Every time I think of the Carnival, this song starts playing in my head :D --Leckie -- Talk 13:40, 22 January 2010 (EST)
    • Could you imagine Samuel terraforming the world while listening to this song?--Gibbeynator 19:31, 22 January 2010 (EST)

What now?

So now where do the carnies all go? Do they try to revive the carnival, or incorporate themsleves into the everyday world?... Thoughts? --Skullman1392 23:38, 8 February 2010 (EST)

Actors portraying carnies

This is a big project. I'm attempting to find out as many of the actors' names as possible who portrayed carnies. A lot of times I have first names or a nickname and that's it. I'm working on building up a network, but I've only got a few at this point. Kie Spring has been instrumental. I'll post what I have and we'll go from there, à la Danko's men, only much more fun!

What we need now is some screencaps of the carnies, and a list of what episodes each one appeared in. I'll keep working on the actors' names (though if anybody else finds something, awesome!) Don't forget to check the 10 webisodes, too!

I should also note that Kie said a lot of the regular carnies kind of decided their own powers (unofficially, of course). For instance, Kie's ability was animal control. I think that would make some good trivia...and might help us name the carnies, in some cases.-- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:46, 26 January 2010 (EST)

List of actors and characters

Names of actors (I'm only listing the extras, and people who pop up every once in awhile in the background):

  • John Lee Ames portrays a game operator (does he ever appear in an episode other than The Fifth Stage?)
  • A guy nicknamed "Chill" portrays Evan Davis
  • Erlene Garcia (we're calling her character "psychic carny")
  • Lakrishi Kindred (we're calling her character "female carny")
  • Katie Scott (we're calling her character "carny kid")
  • Kie Spring (we're calling her character "carny woman")
  • Sydney Sweeney (we're calling her character "carny girl")
  • Nick Ubaldi (we're calling his character "carny", though I really don't think the character we have and the actor we have match)
  • Eva Hayes (Erlene Garcia's sister)
  • Mike Lomas is a big guy with piercings and long black hair
  • Brian Estwick is the really big African American guy
  • Greg Kelly is the blond guy who looked like a surfer dude
    • Here's an image of the actor. I'm still waiting to find out what his first name is. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:01, 31 January 2010 (EST)
      • Chill said that he and Greg Kelly can be seen during the earthquake in Pass/Fail--they help Lydia and Amanda, and then run out and see the town that Samuel destroys
  • Dana is the older biker looking dude long blondish grey hair
    • --is it this guy? If so, he's appeared in a lot of episodes (including The Fifth Stage and Slow Burn, Part 8)
      • Yes, that's him. I think there's a better picture of him somewhere... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:07, 26 January 2010 (EST)
        • Alright. I'll be looking for appearances then, and we should also get around to naming the character, and finding out the actor's last name. --Radicell 18:49, 26 January 2010 (EST)
  • Jessica Hammond is an African American girl with dreadlocks
    • --possibly this one
      • Yes, I think so, but I'm not 100% positive. I'll have to check... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:12, 26 January 2010 (EST)
        • Okay, yes it is. In looking at some close up images of her, the character (not the actress) has a blue right eye and a brown left eye. (The actress has two brown eyes.) Let's call the character "multicolor eyed carny". -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:25, 31 January 2010 (EST)
  • Eric Shackelford is a tall thin dark haired guy
    • According to IMDb, Eric appears in Orientation/Jump, Push, Fall, Ink, and Once Upon a Time in Texas. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:44, 4 February 2010 (EST)
      • I've found him in 401. We need a name for him. --Radicell 09:59, 5 February 2010 (EST)
        • Excellent. I've emailed him previously, and I just emailed him again five minutes ago. I have phone numbers for about 70% of the extras, and I've only made about two phone calls so far (most contact has been through email because it's easier for me). I can start making phone calls soon--maybe this weekend when I'm snowed in. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:47, 5 February 2010 (EST)
  • Another Jessica is the tall thin dark haired girl -- perhaps this is her (however, there are quite a couple more unidentified carnies who match the criteria
  • Does Jack ever appear onscreen?
  • Does Teddy ever appear onscreen after (or before) Tabula Rasa?
  • Franklin Stout
  • Vicki Milbourne portrays Alexa Wondrel
  • Stewart Tain
    • Stewart was in The Art of Deception and will be in the final episodes (he's not sure which titles). Stewart was in the scene listening to Samuel when the shooting starts, he runs for cover. He gets wounded, but that scene was cut. Stewart will also be in several scenes on the final episode, but doesn't know what was left in the final cut. One of the scenes shows him holding a blood soaked bandage on his forehead from being wounded, but he's not sure if it's shown or not. Stewart said he believes he's the oldest carny. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:27, 27 January 2010 (EST)
  • Keith Keola Sakima
  • Robb Conner (portrays Ezekiel)
  • Christian Kirkland (Twin 1)
  • Chay Kirkland (Twin 2)
  • Alexis Nichele (portrays Sol)
    • I'm not sure where her character is found...but Alexis says her character's name is Sol. "So my character has a few different abilities. She is part beast master (communicates with animals in English and they can understand her), part weather whisperer (has the ability to control the weather in a heartbeat) and part magician because she also has some telekinetic & telepathic abilities as well as the power to heal. Her name is Sol because she draws her latter powers from the Sun. She like me, is also a Leo." Very cool. Let the hunt begin! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:28, 27 January 2010 (EST)
      • Alexis said she was wearing loud stripes and had pig tails in her hair. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:12, 27 January 2010 (EST)
  • Michael John Lane
    • He's wearing flame pants which got him the nickname "tiger pants" among the cast (see here). Would "tiger pants carny" be too much of a stretch? Should we go with "long haired carny"? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:20, 30 January 2010 (EST)
      • I'd like to get a move on the article, so I'm going to start linking to tiger pants carny. (There are other guys with long hair.) If anybody has another idea, feel free to post it, and we can go with it if it's better. I'd be happy to go back and change links. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:05, 31 January 2010 (EST)
  • Jennifer Bittiger-Kemp
  • Martin Kemp
  • Cara Provenzano portrays Danielle Davis. This is the name Cara told me she goes by.
    • She appeared at least in 404, sitting at the table with the rest of the carnies (she's holding a baby); Chill said their characters were married and had a baby. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:52, 6 February 2010 (EST)
      • If that's the case, can't we name her "Mrs. Davis" or "Evan's wife"? I think she also appears in 401... also standing next to Evan. --Radicell 10:15, 6 February 2010 (EST)
        • Hmm. I guess so. I'm wary of forging relationships in the names of these characters if they're non-canonical. Do we rename Ezekiel "Ezekiel Sullivan"? I'm open to the moves, but we definitely need to draw the line somewhere... I'm just not sure where that line is. :) Let me get a response from Cara, first. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:35, 6 February 2010 (EST)
  • According to Chill, Mark Kelly and Robert Dadashian (and Michael John Lane) are the carnies who catch Samuel when he falls after the burly guy knocks him over in The Fifth Stage. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:40, 6 February 2010 (EST)
    • We need names for Mark Kelly and Robert Dadashian. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:08, 6 February 2010 (EST)

Discussion about carnies

  • I added the names names of some other carnies above. I don't know much about them, other than that they definitely did work for Heroes (did any of them appear?) and that the Kirklands played twins. I have all their contact information (email addresses and phone numbers) so I'll slowly start contacting them all. In the meantime, maybe somebody wants to see if they can find a picture of the actors, and see if they match any of the carnies that have appeared onscreen? It's basically a matching game. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:13, 26 January 2010 (EST)
  • I added some notes to the list above. We might need to come up with some names for these newfound carnies. --Radicell 08:09, 26 January 2010 (EST)
    • More stuff has been found. I think we can create pages for Brian Estwick and Mike Lomas's characters now. --Radicell 08:58, 26 January 2010 (EST)
  • Does anyone know who portrays this carnie from the The Fifth Stage? --Datnymonster
    • No, sorry, Datnymonster. Hopefully as we start matching faces with names, we'll learn who your guy is. I'll bet he's one of the people listed above... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:03, 27 January 2010 (EST)
      • That guy is one of the Kirkland twins. I don't know which one. See if you can get a better picture--and make it 200x250, if possible. Thanks. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:21, 29 January 2010 (EST)
    • These people rack up appearances fast. Evan Davis is already a recurring character, and so is the carnival strongman even though his page hasn't been created yet. =/ --Radicell 06:20, 27 January 2010 (EST)
      • I'm glad, actually. People like Daryl Crittenden and Chill were instrumental in organizing the carnies. Many of the actors worked on the show for five months or more--definitely recurring! Even if they don't rack up the same amount of screen time as some characters, they definitely were involved with the show for longer than many other actors (like Jayma Mays and others who are recurring due to archival footage). Plus, I think we had a few similar people like that last season with all of Danko's analysts and soldiers... I'm also just glad to see some of these actors get credit for the work they've done. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:00, 27 January 2010 (EST)
        • Yeah, I agree. I just wish they'd have straight-up names like "Pearl" or "Evan" instead of "Carnival strongman" or "Game operator"... oh well. --Radicell 09:18, 27 January 2010 (EST)
          • When I contacted all the actors, I asked them for details about their characters that will hopefully help name the characters. I also asked them what they chose as their imaginary abilities. In some cases, I think we can use the ability to name the character (like carnival strongman or psychic carny). Others don't lend themselves well to names (like the carny woman's ability). -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:14, 27 January 2010 (EST)
  • I figure it should be noted that we have carny woman, female carny, carny girl, and carny kid. Should we use a numbered system for characters like this? (I'm referring to the women and the girls separately, BTW.) -- Tristan0709 talk 22:53, 27 January 2010 (EST)
    • This would also help with Vicki Milbourne and Alexis Nichele's characters below, too. -- Tristan0709 talk 22:55, 27 January 2010 (EST)
      • Personally, I think we should try to use names, if possible. Alexis named her character Sol. Are there any objections to us doing the same? ... But yes, for the characters that don't have names (or to whom actors didn't give names), there are only so many ways to say "female carny", so we'll probably have to move to a numbered system, unfortunately. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:11, 27 January 2010 (EST)
        • Oh, yes, of course, names definitely should be used if we have them. I didn't see the part about her character being called Sol, only the part down below. My bad. -- Tristan0709 talk 00:30, 28 January 2010 (EST)

Should Emma be added?

Should Emma be added as a carny?--HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 02/10/2010 07:29 (EST)

  • Only if we add Claire and The Watcher. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:49, 10 February 2010 (EST)
    • OK....good start to an answer. Let me reframe the question. Should Emma, Claire, and the Watcher be added? --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 02/10/2010 10:05 (EST)
      • I don't think so. Firstly they were never really welcomed. Claire spent time there, but I don't think she really ever intended on staying there. As for Emma, we don't know why she went there, but most probably for a better explanation of her ability (since hiro disappeared) but stayed after her skills as a doctor was needed. --mc_hammark 12:06, 10 February 2010 (EST)
        • I do think so, i mean even Sylar is here and he only was there for a couple of days (yes i know about his batiptism)-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 12:08, 10 February 2010 (EST)
          • Essentially, all Emma was doing there was (albeit her old on) her job. That'd be like saying Noah is a carny cause he was doing his job. Or any of the reporters. Or captain Lubbock. --mc_hammark 12:15, 10 February 2010 (EST)
  • Emma performed as part of the carnival, I'd say that's sufficient to add her. --Ricard Desi (t,c) 12:27, 10 February 2010 (EST)
    • Against her will? That means hostages in bank robberies are guilty as well. --mc_hammark 12:33, 10 February 2010 (EST)
      • Since we're talking about "Notable Employees", I don't think Emma should be on the list. She was forced to perform in an act, but it was really Doyle performing through her, not Emma performing. Nor do I think her medical expertise counted as working for the carnival. I don't think Claire should be on the list either--she came to check out the place, and stayed the night, but she never really was part of the carnival, any more than a person visiting a college campus for a day or two is part of the college. I have mixed feelings about The Watcher. I lean toward including him (I think he's on the list right now) since he did do work and was employed by the carnival. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:19, 10 February 2010 (EST)
