* I think Peter uses whatever power that comes into his mind in the first place. He cannot logically choose what powers to use, since his power is empathic. (Not being sarcastic here) A certain power will be triggered if something inspired him to: His power is passive, and he don't have complete control over it. Like, a canvas triggered Peter's precognition power. A man firing at him triggers his ability to stop time. Claude swinging a mighty staff at Peter triggered Peter's TK. Peter did not choose to do that - his body did... Get it? 09:17, 5 December 2007 (EST)

** I guess... it seems a bit illogical, though, especially since there have been several situations where he's had to choose between powers to use. Example: choosing to phase rather than teleport when escaping with Adam the first time, choosing to go invisible rather than have a telekinesis fight with Sylar in Mohinder's apartment (Season 1), electrifying Hiro's weapon rather than teleporting away, phasing, TKing it, etc, swatting the guards aside with telekinesis rather than frying them, choosing to grab the virus with telekinesis rather than freeze time to pick it up. While he may not have been able to control it when he had his memory wipe and didn't know who he was or what he could do, it seems to me that the rest of the time, he's had control over what powers he wants to use, at least of the powers he knows he has. --Shade 09:47, 5 December 2007 (EST)

Why not phase?

Was there any given reason why Peter couldn't just phase Adam and he through the vault door? Or teleport, for that matter?--Shade (talk) 03:45, 5 December 2007 (EST)

Perhaps the vault is air tight so unless the door was open the wouldn't be able to breathe? --Tesphen 06:46, 5 December 2007 (EST)

 • I think Peter uses whatever power that comes into his mind in the first place.
