About
Betty, Part 1
After a jock trips Ren in the cafeteria of their high school, Ren tells Betty that he takes comfort in thinking of the home life of his bullies. He says, "C'mon, did you see The Breakfast Club? They're all afraid of their daddies." Ren says he hopes "they're shakin' in their cleats when they don't get a touchdown. That means an automatic beating at home."
Notes
- In The Breakfast Club, Andrew Clark (portrayed by Emilio Estevez) is a "jock", ashamed to be in detention. In one scene, Andy admits he is often pushed beyond his limits by his father and others. He breaks down and says that he is pressured by his father to always win.
Memorable Quotes
"I taped Larry Lester's buns together....I did it for my old man. I tortured this poor kid, because I wanted him to think that I was cool....I got the feeling that he was disappointed that I never cut loose on anyone, right....I started thinking about my father, and his attitude about weakness....It's all because of me and my old man. Oh God, I ... hate him! He's like this mindless machine that I can't even relate to anymore. 'Andrew, you've got to be number one! I won't tolerate any losers in this family....Win. Win! WIN!!!' You son of a bitch!"
